My Saitek Radio Panel will tune the NGX NAV1/2, COM1/2 standby frequencies and transfer them to the active. It tunes the ADF but only the active frequency and sets the Transponder code.I've got the free version of FSUIPC installed but I don't know whether the Saitek panel is using it. The only driver I installed is the one on the disk that came with the panel.Andy Lawton

It stays set for me but don't forget it's aircraft specific so if you set it as 6000' for say the Ryanair 737-800 it will still be the default for other aircraft unless you've changed those as well.Andy Lawton

I've just flown the Tutorial flight again, I have SP1 installed, at no time did I need to use the speedbrakes and all the speed and altitude restrictions were met. A few things to check if it's not working for you:1. Is all weather cleared to give zero winds?2. Did you modify the route and restrictions as detailed in the tutorial?3. If you're using hardware to control the throttles is it interfering with the autothrottle resulting in too much power in the descent?Andy Lawton

I think I'd better retract that post and apologise to PMDG!Thinking back FSX only started crashing on selecting "End Flight" fairly recently and then earlier this evening I realised that the 'Add-ons' entry was missing from the FSX menu bar. A search suggested a problem with dll.xml and sure enough it opened misformatted in IE8. It turns out that there was a line right at the end of the file with only an 'H' in it. I deleted that and the 'Add-ons' entry is back and I can use 'End Flight' after flying the NGX without FSX crashing - so far anyway.Andy LawtonIt doesn't seem to have been. It still happens for me, but not always.Andy Lawton -
It doesn't seem to have been. It still happens for me, but not always.Andy Lawton..... I hope that bug will be fixed in SP1. -
That's odd, mine does. Are you using FSUIPC on the brake axis? That might be the difference, I'm not.Andy LawtonIn my case, since SP1 my park brake does not dissengage when i hit the brakes on my CH Pro pedals..... -
I had that problem and not having a registered copy of FSUIPC resorted to fudging the calibration of the brake axis on my CH pedals by putting a fairly thin magazine under the heel end of the pedals before calibrating them via FSX.Andy Lawton

Unless you've updated it, which you probably haven't otherwise you wouldn't have asked, the navdata for the NGX is Airac Cycle 1108. You can always see that info towards the top of the Ident page of the FMC CDU.Andy LawtonThanks guys - which navdata do I set for the NGX? Can't wait to finally master setting up routes, then I can start to learn things properly :) -
Luke,Entering that route into the FMC uses the same steps as the tutorial, have you tried following that part of the tutorial again but using the route data for your Bristol - Brussels flight? The principle is exactly the same. I've just looked at the date for that route on the http://www.ivao.aero/db/route/ site and it's quite old now so some of the waypoints, airways and the SID or STAR may not be in the NGX nav data.Another site to try for flight planning is http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/, on that one you can select the same navdata as the one you've got in the NGX so there should be no problems with missing airways etc.If ATC gives you a heading instruction that differs from the route in your FMC then you will have to come out of LNAV and set the heading manually and use HDG SEL, or if they give you a waypoint to fly to use the FMC to go direct to that waypoint.Andy Lawton

Despite doing a complete un-install of the NGX and then re-installing the original version and then installing SP1 as recommended I didn't need to activate it again.Andy LawtonRobert,I have a problem, but I can not activation NGX reconnected.Soner -
No problem here with Nvidia Inspector after updating to the 285.62 drivers.Andy Lawton

Slight mistake, I did that from memory - it's actually Ctrl + F3 Andy L..... If I press Ctrl + Shift + F3 they go all the way forward and I hear the call. -
Are you getting the condition levers fully forward? I find that using my CH Throttle Quadrant the levers go very nearly fully forward but not quite far enough to get the 'condition lever flight' call. If I press Ctrl + Shift + F3 they go all the way forward and I hear the call. Andy LawtonHi ! I have 2 requests for you : i had a problem with my FSX.CFG so i delete it and recreate an another one. Since this issue, i have no more sound for condition lever flight when it s activated (i get the condition lever taxi sound however).Any idea ?.... -
..... and if it helps that's the version I got and it's not suffered from any lock ups at all. Andy Lawton

All the links that I find by searching are broken. Does anyone have a working link please? Andy Lawton

The full download has the latest hotfix incorporated, no need to install the hotfix as well. That was the case this morning anyway and having followed the posts on that topic seems to be standard practice. Andy Lawton
-
There's a later hotfix, number 3, available today (16 Aug) that's supposed to fix the activation problem caused by the last (15 Aug) hotfix. Link is in the pinned hotfix post. Andy Lawton

I've long given up on trying to understand the moderation round here. It seems to be perfectly acceptable, despite complaints, to host videos of dubious taste containing foul language, apparently without any concern that they may be viewed by minors; but not for some reason to host useful material such as yours. Perhaps whoever deleted the thread was having a bad day trying to sort out the NGX! Andy Lawton
-
Ryan, I assume the full download will include hotfix 3? I've been holding off buying following the reports of activation problems with the full download that contains hotfix 2 so I don't want to buy and download later today only to find I can't activate. Are you planning to post something to say when the full download is patched to hotfix 3? Andy LawtonThere's a hotfix 3 going up shortly - fixes the activation bugs that were in hotfix 2. It also does contain new cfgs that are correct. -
David, Perhaps you could upload the check list to the Avsim file library instead? I saw it and was hoping to download it when I'd bought the NGX so I for one would be grateful if you could make it available again. Andy Lawton
-
Is this the download you had problems activating and had to use the 'quick click' technique you describe in another thread to solve? If so thanks for the heads up, I'll not be buying until I see some progress on the activation problem. Andy LawtonI have re downloaded the pmdg 737 ngx from the site today the new version and hotfix is already in there m8 -
I expect he was following the advice from PMDG that says: This hot-fix is not required unless you experienced freezes but you should install it anyway just for the sake of having the most current version. If you were seeing freezes they should be rare if at all, and if you did not have freezes, the update won't hurt you. I'd have probably done the same but I'm waiting for the initial bugs to be ironed out before I buy. Andy LawtonUh. If it wans't broke why did you try to fix it? -
It's still available from 2 online stores I've just checked at random. AFAIK, in Europe anyway, the boxed versions of PMDG aircraft are published and distributed by Aerosoft. Andy Lawtonokay, but the PMDG MD-11 was boxed and now it isn't. Why is that?? -
Please have some consideration for other users of this forum and avoid the use of text speak which makes posts like yours difficult to read. Andy Lawtonu havnt told ur pc specs are by the sound of it looks like u below min req and on the product page it gives u the min the req to run the ngx so either u didnt read it or u havnt got ur pc set up right to run the ngx. Have u got the md-11 at all and if u can run that ok than u should be able to run the ngx
Is there after SP1 an IDLE BUG?
