  1. Ohh, my bad ... I was referring to the autogen distance fix on Flightsim.to (the impostor tree size of up to 150 meters), not the LOD. Sorry for the confusion. The LOD does make a difference up to 200, but I haven't tested past that value.
  2. I tested values up to 150 and my conclusion is that anything above 60 makes absolutely no difference. Asobo seems to have implemented a hard limit on how far the trees are being rendered.
  3. Hello Dillon and DJJose, the 50-75 and 100-150 packages will not give good results so they are not supposed to be used in the sim. I would suggest running tests with the 35-50, 40-55 and 40-60 packages and choose the one that works the best for you. 35-50 will have no pop-ups, but the vegetation will be thinner in the distance where the trees start being rendered. 40-55 has denser trees in the distance, but some vegetation pop-ups might be visible 40-60 has even better tree density in the distance, but there are pop ups. The draw distance is significantly lower in than it was before, and as of now there is no workaround about this.
  4. Hello Eric, the recorder functionality is definitely a must have in the sim and I want to tank you for that and for your immense contribution to our hobby. I've bee recording my flights for the last 15+ years because sometimes I want to just be a passenger in my own flights. I would start the sim, choose a plane and location, play a previously recorded flight and just enjoy the flight as a passenger. I really loved Matthias Neusinger's FSRecorder as it did an amazing job for that, and what I liked the most was the fact that the user was able to choose which variables to be recorder as well as the recording interval, thus being able to control the recorder file size for the longer flights. I am wondering if you would consider adding a similar functionality to your recorder. Thank you, Chip
  5. Hello, you can download a set of custom camera views here: https://flightsim.to/file/1451/custom-cameras
  6. I completely agree with you. We all have a combination of love and dissatisfaction with this sim, but I think we should be happy for the people who have wonderful experiences and who want to share their satisfaction with the rest of us.
  7. Hello, here's a link to a set of custom camera views that includes wing views for all the planes in the premium deluxe package: https://flightsim.to/file/1451/custom-cameras

    My brother...

Very sorry to hear about your loss Noel, stay strong and stay safe! It's very hard when the COVID hits close to home, it changes your perspective entirely. My thoughts are with you.
  9. The airport lights (runway + taxiway) have always been on during daytime since the sim was launched, but the update that messed up the night lights also increased the airport lights size / intensity and now they can be seen from 15+ nm in a clear sunny day, which is highly unrealistic.
  10. Hello, you can download a set of camera views with installation instructions here: https://flightsim.to/file/1451/custom-cameras
  11. I think you have the same right as anyone else to state your opinion and ask questions. To answer you question, there's a big debate here at Avsim: Also, there is a debate on Microsoft forum https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/terrible-night-lighting-after-patch-5/310086
  12. I see your point and I agree with you. However, Microsoft seems to rank the top bugs based on the number of votes and there are items on that list that have less than 280 votes.
  13. Microsoft/Asobo seem to be conveniently selective of what makes it to the top bugs list. The "Terrible night lighting after patch 5" report that had over 280 votes this morning didn't make it to the list. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/terrible-night-lighting-after-patch-5/310086
  14. As a matter of fact the custom camera views don't get overwritten during the updates. There are a lot of warnings in the install notes just to make sure that people don't make mistakes, but in reality all one needs to do is copy those folders in the "Airplanes" folder. This really is equivalent to creating your own set of camera views, and nothing more than that. These camera views cannot be saved in the community folder, due to their location in the sim.
  15. You can download a set of custom views that allow you to pan and move around the cabins beyond the vc limitations in the default airplanes. https://flightsim.to/file/1451/custom-cameras
