  1. Thanks' for your reply's. I do not fly online and just wanted to say have fsx atc on com1 and tune atis on com 2 so when i'm i range i'll pick up the atis without losing atc on com 1. I know fsx atc is garbage but i've flown other payware aircraft like this but if i remember the MD11 didn't work properly either. What am I doing wrong??? Martin.
  2. Thanks' Geoff. I'm in no doubt that PMDG did model the radio's correctly, but it doesn't answer my question. How do I get Com2 to work???? Volume control????? Martin.
  3. Hello. I feel a bit daft asking this question but I cannot seem to find the answer anywhere. I cannot seem to get the comm2 radio to work in the NGX. Comm1 works fine. I did read somewhere on this forum that you need to turn the volume up. I can't figure out for the life of me how to do that. The little knob that you pull to listen to vhf2 lights up but you can't turn it to adjust the volume. So how do I adjust the volume assuming that is all I need to do. I know it's going to be something really silly but I can't seem to figure it. Any Ideas anyone???? Thank's, Martin.
  4. Hi. I'm somewhat in agreement with Sonic5. The CTD's are a Microsoft problem and should be fixed by them. I too am having CTD's, mainly the NTD.DLL error which I've read on these.forums could be caused my just about anything. I'm also having the stutters and on my sytem I think thar's unacceptable as I have a high-end system. I'm probably going to re-install FSX/Acceleration once again and am seriously considering reinstalling Windows 7 or at least do a 'repair' on it. I'tried just about everything suggested on these forums but still having CTD's. I recently ran my FSX.CFG file through *******'s web application and that seemed to improve things slightly. My system specs are: Intel i7980X (at 4.13Ghz), Geforce 580X (at 880Mhz), 6GB DDR3 2000Mhz, 2x300GB Velociraptors (1 for Windows etc and 1 purely for FSX), X-Fi titanium sound card, Windows7 64bit, and a Laptop on which I run all FSX related software (weather etc.) connected to my main PC. I did think perhaps it was a SimConnect issue....... I'm not sure.Anyway, one last attempt at reinstalling Windows, and/or FSX. If I'm still having these CTD's then I might very well go back to FS9 until Microsoft either find an answer of release Flight.Martin.
  5. Thank's for the reply's. I'm still undecided though and would prefer Nvidia over ATI. So that leaves me with TH2go. But I may just get a bigger monitor, say a 27" or something.Decision's, Decisions......Martin.
  6. Hi all. I've been reading these discussions about video cards with interest as I'm considering going to a multi monitor set-up for FSX. I'm currently running a i7980x, 6GB 2000Ghz DDR3 RAM, 2x300GB velociraptor 1exclusivley for FSX, and a GTX 285 with 2GB RAM. Oh, and a 24" 1920x1200 monitor. Windows 7 64bit.I was considering going for a Triple Head2Go and 2 more 24" monitors but concerned about the frame rate loss. I've also got a laptop over a LAN with a 19" monitor so how about purchasing 2 more 19" monitors and using 3x 19 monitors and Triple head2go??? Or how about upgrading the video card to say a GTX485 and ruing 2 monitors off of that or even just purchase a larger monitor and staying wiith a single monitor set up?????I realise this is off topic but while we are waiting for the NGX...........Anyone got any suggestions?????Happy Christmas and best wishes for the new year to all, Martin.
  7. Hi.I've gone back to AS 6.5 and it seems to work fine. The only problem I've got is the winds keep shifting (and cloud popping) during updates with 6.5 but I heard that can be eliminated with FSUIPC. I have a registered version of FSUIPC v4 and tried wind smoothing in that but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Does anyone know how to set up FSUIPC with AS 6.5 in FSX to eliminate the wind shifting problem???I have FSX with acceleration and window 7 64bit. I also have ASE but due to the many problems with it I've decided to re-install AS 6.5. I use FSBuild for my flight planning and import the weather into this. Thanks, Martin.

  9. Ok. managed to get a quick screenshot. I was tuned to EGSS RW04 110.50 and about 75NM away. The number (distance??) counts down as I approach EGSS but then counts up again until the ILS is within range and tunes correctly.AHHH, silly me. I've just found out what it is! Rotterdam VOR (RTM) has the same frequency, 110.50, and was obviously tuned to that.Sorry to have wasted your time.Martin.
  10. I'll try and post a screenshot when I'm next in the MD11, could be a few day's.Martin.
  11. Hi. I was just wondering what the RTM message means in the PFD where the ILS ident and dme would show. It has happened to me a few times after tuning an ILS but being out of range. Once within range of the ILS I get the normal ILS indications.I've searched the manuals for 'rtm' but found nothing and I've quickly searched this forum but found nothing.Anyone tell me the answer????Martin.
  12. I am lucky enough to have flown on concorde. Felt pretty much like any other aircraft most of the time, :( apart from take-off and landing. :( I'll never forget the take-off, really being 'pinned' to my seat. :( Sorry to change the topic ever so slightly!!Martin.
