  1. Hello, I can also highly recommend Slovenia X Photoreal. Yes it works in v5 and there was an update just a few days after the release of v5 to make it more compatible (adding additional exclusion zones etc...). Thus not also a great scenery for a lovely country but also lots of support. Greetings, Thomas
  2. But something I forgot to mention: you can always change the minimum length at which runways are shown in the FMS (via the PMDG Options: Addons/PMDG/Options/Airline Options - Equipment/Navigation Data).Greetings,Thomas
  3. Hello,i guess the problem is that the runway at BIRK (a domestic airport) is not suitable for an MD-11, with a length of only about 5'000ft it is simply too short (Minimum Runway Length is 6'000ft AFAIK). You better try the nearby BIKF Keflavik airport.Greetings,Thomas
  4. Hello,I can second what Dan said and it's the same here in austria. The different designators mean different minima, sometimes different procedures, etc...I have an example from my home airport LOWW - ILS Approach Rwy 11:ILS X: http://charts.vacc-a...11_06062011.pdfILS Y: http://charts.vacc-a...11_06062011.pdfIf you look at the charts, you will notice that ILS X has a lot lower minima than ILS Y AND also quite a different missed approach procedure: with ILS X you would climb and fly straight ahead to VOR BRK crossing Rwy 16/34, with ILS Y and the much higher mimima and the different missed approach procedure (right turn to VOR SNU) you avoid coming near the airport and Rwy 16/34 and don't have to cross it at all. In this example ILS Y will apparently be used when approaches to Rwy 11 AND approaches/departures from Rwy 16 are simultaneously used. As the missed approach procedures for Rwy 16 command a straight ahead climb, even two missed approaches can take place at the same time.I hope this example helps understanding the different designators.Greetings,Thomas
  5. Hello everyone, while browsing the a.net photo database I came across nice pictures of KLM MD-11 cockpits (pity, copyright issues doesn't allowed links to airliners.net). A few pictures are showing the EAD with both the Primary and the Secondary Engine Display - but with the N1, EGT and N2 parameters not depicted with the semi-circular gauge we all know, but with a "box column" gauge like the 747-200,- 300 and -400 has (I hope everyone understands what I mean). Is this a company option for the MD-11? I've never seen this on any other MD-11 except these KLM ones... or is this just an updated software version with a more "Boeing-like" style? Greetings,Thomas
  6. Hello,I can't reproduce your problem with DXTbmp but if you're using Photoshop you could probably try exporting the DDS texture directly from Photoshop with the NVidia DDS Plugin.http://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop Greetings,Thomas
  7. ...and if someone is interested, there are also quite a few very nice videos from the Airpower airshow on their webside: http://airpower.gv.at/en/fanzone/videos/Greetings,Thomas
  8. thank you for sharing this wonderful video with us :Applause:I really enjoyed it especially since LOWK is my home aiport - pity we don't see the MD-11 there in real life.Greetings, Thomas
  9. I would solve this with putting the below restriction into the FMS and dialing altitude 12000 into the FCP - so you can be sure that you wouldn't descend lower than 12000 until setting a lower altitude into the FCP after SEAVU. Although of course I guess one wouldn't do this work-around in real life?
  10. Hello, there are a few Cargoitalia liveries here at the AVSIM library:for example: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=150177 - for FS9 http://library.avsim...php?DLID=150176 - same for FSX and there's even an HD version for FSX: http://library.avsim...php?DLID=151845 and you may also find a few others... Greetings,Thomas
  11. Hello Marty,AFAIK you find this letters in the alpha channel of the file PMDG_MD11_Decal.dds (or the respective PSD file from the paintkit).Blackening the letters in the alpha channel will remove them from the repaint.Greetings,Thomas
  12. Hello,I've done a Air Asia X repaint for the MD-11 - you can download it from the library: PMDG MD-11x Air Asia XThomas
  13. Hello Dylan, you can download the finished livery (with the bigger Virgin logo on the tail engine nacelle) from the AVSIM Library: PMDG MD-11 Virgin AtlanticHope u like it Greetings, Thomas(Oh, and yes, I know the Virgin Atlantic logo on the undercarriage is missing - I will update the files as soon as possible)
  14. Hello, have you thought of something like this?or with a smaller tail logo:Obviously the repaint's not quite finished yet (some wrong colors, wront fonts, ...), but I'm working on it... :rolleyes:Thomas
  15. oh... ur right... using the other phrase did the trick I'm using the Flow Chart that was linked here in the forum and it states "we're clear on the left" and I never doubted this is the wrong statement (crosschecking with the FS2Crew Manual would have helped in this case). Thanks for ur tipp... now everything works (and flows) perfectly @bryan: it looks like this solved my special "check"-problem, so I don't think it's the same problem the other users are experiencing... but if I encounter the other "check"-thing I sure will inform you. Oh, and thank you for your efforts providing us with this wonderful piece of software :) are there any plans for a MD-11 Voice Commander edition?
  16. Hello everyone,I recently bought the 767 Voice Commander after using the Maddog Version and I too experience the "check... check... braindead FO"-problem - but for me it's quite reproducible: I can't get the software to recognize the phrase "We're clear on the Left" after receiving the Taxi Clearance and switching on the Taxi Lights. I've tried everything, modulated my pronounciation, did the Voice Recognition Training Sessions etc..., but I can't get the software to recognize this particular phrase (usually it recognizes "repeat last", although for example the Maddog Version does recognize it perfectly. When I stop trying to get this phrase recognized and cycle to the next item (I think "Before Takeoff Check"), the "Before Taxi"-Item in the FS2Crew Main Panel stays yellow and I get this "check... check..."-problem...Is there a way to "jump" over this phrase and directly to the next checklist item? It's rather annoying and I'm not able to use the software because of this single phrase ;)Any help will be appreciated....Thanks and greetings from Vienna :)Thomas
  17. Hello, fellow simmers and repainters,I'm currently working on a new livery for the Wilco/Feelthere Legacy and after completing much of the work I've encountered one specific problem: I can't find the texture file (or part of a texture file) for these two parts of the model: the nacelle pylon (I hope that's the correct english translation for it - the part where the engine is fixed to the fuselage) and this little antenna in front of the fin(I've attached a screenshot, where I've marked the parts in question....) I tried every texture file (especially the ext_1, ext_2 files and the textures for the wings and for the engine nacelle), but I can't find the skin for these two parts....Maybe someone in this forum has a lil bit experience with the Legacy and would be so kind to help me with this lil problem?Kind regards,Thomas
