  1. Thanks Sylvain, I'm running XP on a 2.4Ghz i5 processor, nVidia GT330 M 256MB graphics card. I think it's enough for FS9 but I have still test work to do. Fps locked @24 with quality settings full maxed, really smooth, great antialias and AF, really crisp image. Those shots were taken with REX for FS9 and I did notice some low frames with the 1024 bit HD cloud textures, it ran perfect with the 512 bit textures.Best regards,
  2. Hey Rick,I solved the problem, it was related to the absence of mipmaps for the aircraft texture, my card is an nVidia GT 330m.Download the DXTBmp and install texture tool from: http://www.btinternet.com/~mnwright/programs/dxtbmp.htmFrom the tool, load the texture file corresponding to the exterior aircraft livery (backup first) and then save it again, make sure the checkbox "include mipmaps when saving" is checked.Problem solved, hope it works for you.Good luck.
  3. Hello,Some of my aircraft textures have jaggies even if the antialias is working perfect on everything else, any suggestions ?Thanks !
  4. My first shots after re-installing FS9 on a bootcamp partition on my MacBookPro laptop, many years away from this great hobbye... hope you like it.Best regards,
  5. Hello, I ordered a MacBook Pro 15" with a GT 330M 256MB (1440x990) graphics card, does anyone have some info about running FS9 with bootcamp ? do you think I can flight with settings full maxed and good AA and AF ? what do you recommend for bootcamp, XP or Win 7 ?Thank you for any comment.
  6. Thank you all for your advice, I'm very interested in the 206 and the bonanza v-tail.Best regards,Auriga
  7. Hello,There's a sale going on on Carenado for FS9 aircraft (30% off), can you recommend the best models that Carenado has designed for FS9 ? I'm planning to buy 2 or 3.Best regards,Auriga.
  8. An nVidia card would have been the best choice but sadly I didn't have the choice, this DELL XPS16 was really a very good deal and I couldn't find a laptop with the same features and price ratio... I also expected that after a these years years this problem had to be solved... I really hope someone will appear with the miracle tweak to save us from the shimmer curse... or as someone said before, wait for the miracle driver release...Let's keep trying.
  9. Hello,I'm comming back to flight simming after some years... I always had nVidia cards and tweaked my config to almost perfection, great fps, fluid flying and almost zero blurries. This time I'm flying on a laptop with a Radeon HD4670 card and a quad core i7 cpu on Windows 7, really great fps with very high detail at 1920x1080, 8x AA 16x AF. The one problem I can't get rid of is the shimmering on the textures, really annoying...I know lowering the mipmap detail to 4 corrects the problem, the shimmering disappears completely but this comes at the cost of having back the blurries. As soon as I increment the mipmap detail, the textures become very crisp and sharp again but the shimmering is back again. I didn't have this problem onnvidia cards.Anyone has been successful getting rid of shimmer on Radeon cards ? I'll really appreciate any help.Thank You.
  10. Hi Ed, great video ! I live in Bolivia and landing at Sucre in real life is always scary, really difficult approach. If you are interested you can try La Paz (SLLP) at more than 13000 feet, there's a freeware photoreal scenery for FS9 (somewhat old but still nice), you can donwload Bolivia scenery from:Bolivia Scenery FS9The specific link for the SLLP photoreal installer is:La Paz - Bolivia (SLLP) PhotorealBest regards,
  11. Hello,I ordered a DELL XPS 16 laptop with a i7 1.6Ghz Quadcore CPU and a 1GB Radeon Mobility HD4670, do you think I can use FS9 full maxed and have decent AA/AF with this laptop ? what about FSX ?Thank you.
