  1. Hi Mike, I think You will get a bit more out of your 975 now you have lowered your qpi/dram down to 1.35v. I have a good set of Dominator gtx 2000mhz intel 975i / p6t board / the same as you and I have pegged back my memory to 1866mhz timings (7-7-6-18) Qpi/Dram 1.425 & 1.375 Cpu volt , Dram buss 1.66 / 133x33 multiplier ROCK STEADY AT 4.4 GHZ . I also think There my be More in there yet as well.Temps are 23c idle 68/72c 100% prime95 stress test.Set at 2000mhz memory speed I had to have QPI/dram 1.60volts and temps were high 80c.Plus timings 8-8-8-24. Hope this helps. AndyR
  2. Hi mike, I bet you are really feed up now, I Know I would be Mate, Ive Got the same memory as you corsair doms 2000mhz but timings are diffrent 8-8-8-24, they ran mem test ok but they require a qpi/dram setting of 1.6v which sends out a lot of heat into my system. also 1.65v for dram. Have you got the same voltage settings . I have a 975 & asus p6t deluxe and got it o/c to 4.3mhz stable but cannot seem to get ot any higher.temps 70c 100% load . qpi/dram settings seem to be a problem with 2000mhz memory and I think NickN is right in what he says the br=est option is to shoot for some 1600mhz 6-6-6-20 with lower volt requirements and maybe you will be able to push your 975 to 4.6mhz with out having high temps. thats what I am thinking about anyway?.Hope you get sorted soon mate , all the best AndyR
  3. Hi crash, been overclocking all day with 975 and sweet spot seems to be 4.3ghz @ stable. Not bothered with any other settings yet here is what I have adjustedmulti x33bclk 143cpu volt 1.35vcpu pll autoqpi/dram 1.60vioh autoioh pcie autod ram buss 1.66vall other settings are the same as your bios settings, temps 30c idle .100%= 75c-80c. By the way mate forget the thermaltake xaser refrigerated case for cooling, it has not performed any better than watercooling rig and there advertising temp,s are untrue to say the least. I was expecting 100% load temps to be around 45c-50c.

  10. Hi everybody, I have this week just upgraded my computer system for running FSX, after carefull consideration I have purchased the following components1. i7 975 (o/c 4.2 stable test ottc 80c 1hr ok)2. 6gig ddr3 2000mhz corsair doms 8-8-8-243. western digital 10,000rpm h/drive4. 1500watts power supply unit5. BfG 295 watercooled g/card6. zalman reserator xt watercooling system7. silverstone tj case8. Asus P6t Deluxe m/boardAll built up now and ready to start loading fsx on but before I do guys i am looking for some advice Please,I have managed to overclock to 4.2 quite easy by just increasing my vcore to1.35volts.ran occt for 1 hour , temps got to 79/81c but passed test.4.4ghz cpu too hot!zalman reserator running on cpu & v/card for cooling.not loaded fsx on yet because reading on your site people are saying memory timings for best performance should be 6-6-6 or 7-7-7 will my exspensive 2000mhz dominator ddr3 8-8-8-24 do the job or will I have to shoot for 7-7-7 timings with them. any advice on this system please advice me as Iam new to overclocking and all your advice would be greatfull (specialy NICKN ). Also any body read about the NEW case from Thermaltake EXPREESAIR it as a mini refrigerated built in to the case and claims to run 20c lower temps than liquid cooling, any body any thought on that ! Thanks Andyall
