  1. I just installed V2 on Windows 7 Pro x64 The opening F-22 flight looks good. However just about any menu option crashes Prepar3D For some reason I cannot paste the log messages into this space here. Faulting module name KERNELBASE.dll, version 6.1.7601.18869 Thank you
  2. At first, I was getting random freeze ups when flying FSX with PMDG 737NGX in the middle of flights. It was a bummer to think I spent all of this money on hardware and software upgrades. After some investigation, I started to find things on the PC and in forums including AVSIM which led me in the right direction. The "SETTING FSX SET UP FOR THE PMDG 737NGX" section in the "PMDG-737NGX-Introduction" document includes some really good pointers which helped prevent problems. I also noticed during the FSX freeze up when doing alt-ctrl-del that there was some kind of Microsoft Office/calendar application running which I then removed from my PC's startup configuration.
  3. First, I would like to say that PMDG 737NGX is the coolest software I have seen! The PMDG 747 is great too. My son and I have had flown several hours and this software has to be the closest thing to really flying the B-737/747; I swear at one point, my ears were popping! This functionality may have already been addressed, integration with a weather radar. And maybe, recorded flight deck PA announcements. It would be cool too to have the fasten seatbelt illuminate in the cabin.Good work Team and THANK YOU!
  4. sorry to restart this discussion. I have completed a big upgrade on my home PC and enjoying all of the benefits this is providing with FSX and PMDG 737NGX which are GREAT! I have noticed that the "progressive taxi" does not work when I run with Direct X 10 Preview. Any remedy for this? or is it worth using DirectX 10 Preview anyway? Thanks in advance for the information.-Monzo
  5. Thank you for the information. I had some time over last weekend to try out different things including some inserts/updates to the fsx.cfg which I found in AVSIM (from *******). I noticed now that there are less freeze-ups now, When the freeze-up does occur, I can browse the web for about 5-6 minutes and then FSX/PMDG 737NGX will resume from where it froze which is better than scrapping the flight and starting over. BTW: PMDG 737NGX is a MASTERPIECE! -- really, a wonderful product which works great with REX and I am looking forward to flying with TRACK IR. 6. If you are still getting freeze-ups during flights, have you tried running FSX in Windows XP/SP3 compatability mode (as Administrator)? I was able to complete a full flight using FSX/SP2 & PMDG 737NGX from MKE to MCI takeoff to landing which would have usually had frozen up about 30 minutes into the flight. I had also disabled my audio. I need to run some more tests to see if I have a handle on this.
  7. Hello, I have some questions regarding the B-737 and PMDG's 737NGX. 1) when I move the stabilizer trim wheel up/down on my control column/yoke, it appears when viewing the plane from the outside that it is the elevators which are moving up/down and not the stabiliizer. Is this correct? 2) When adjusting the rudder and aileron trim, which control surfaces get manipulated? Is it the tabs on these control surfaces? 3) For planes without auto-throttle, does the crew need to constantly adjust the thrust levers throughout the flight including cruise? Thank you very much in advance for the information. -Monzo "pilot wantabe"
  8. Everyone, thank you for the suggestions and experiences. I may have figured out how to solve my freeze ups. I flew a flight from takeoff to landing with a freeze up from MKE to MCI using the PMDG 737NGX. My hardware/software stats are mentioned above. I tried first by taking ownership and renaming Uiautomationcore.dll and re-booting which did not prevent the freeze up from occuring again. I then disabled the sound device which disabled the audio ATC voices and sounds of the cockpit and I at the same time ran FSX in Windows XP/SP3 compatability mode. So, I am not sure if it was the sound device disabled or running FSX which apparently helped prevent the freeze up from occuring. I need to run some more tests to make sure. I hope I just need to run FSX in XP mode as the Admin. I did check the memory with Intel Burn Test V2 and everything checked okay after running these tests.-Monzo
  9. Hello,I have recently installed FSX including SP2 and PMDG's 737NGX.The flight freezes up and stops responding usually within 30 minutes of a flight using a flight plan. The sound continues, but it does not accept any inputs and the scenary and instruments stop changing & responding. During the 30 minutes, the auto-pilot seems slow to engage and the A/T does not seem to respond to selected speeds selected. I have attached a USB control column yoke and rudder pedals which are not used during climb out and cruising flight. Any Ideas? Thank you in advance. 10. I was wondering about "PMDG *highly* recommends the use of 64-bit versions of Windows due to memory limitations in FSX. "If Microsoft FSX is a x86 application, is it going to be able to take advantage of Win7 x64? I have also read some blog sites suggesting that FSX should be ran in XP capatability mode to avoid any problems encountered when upgrading to Win 7 x64.. I thought that since my WiFi reception is poor to fair in the room that I may disconnect the WiFi to possibly avoid problems with FSX/PMDG 737NGX not responding after 30-40 minutes of flight. Regards,Herman K.
