  1. Thank you all for the advice! I've decided to wait until I have access to my other system. Steve
  2. I'm aware it's a weak system, but my main flight sim computer is currently part of my 767 cockpit project back home, so there wasn't much chance of bringing it to school with me! I usually get about 19-22 FPS with the rendering settings I use.
  3. Hi all, Before buying, I wanted to make sure that the DC-6 would work on my system, and was wondering if there is anyone using the DC-6 successfully on a relatively low-end system. I'd love to try out the aircraft, but only have my laptop with me up here at college. (Desktop was left home). My specifications are: AMD A10-5750M APU (quad core) 2.5 GHz, AMD Radeon HD 8650G graphics, 8GB RAM Has anyone with a comparable system had success using this aircraft? Or does anyone more experienced than I have any thoughts on my specs? I appreciate any input! Steve
  4. Kind of an addendum question: Will the PMDG 777 work with the Opencockpits mastercard through SIOC? I'm planning on building an MCP, but I don't want to spend the time and money if it won't work. Thanks, Steve
  5. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Anyway, the Lite mode didn't work. I am about to post this in the qw forums, so maybe someone over there will have an idea. Thanks for all your help!GPreddy
  6. I will try this, thanks. Are there any major differences between the standard panel and the lite panel? E.g. unrealistic systems?
  7. I still haven't tried the mouse macro approach, but now you all have piqued my curiosity. I've only flown the aircraft once, so I don't know; how do you enter lite mode?
  8. Actually, I think I may have just solved my problem. Since the desktop aviator cards show up as a joystick, I can use the mouse macro mapping function within fsuipc to program the joystick buttons. I can't try it right now, but I will as soon as I can.
  9. Thanks for all of the quick replies!I would have posted this in the qw support forum, but they have not yet activated my account.I also use a ch products yoke, ch products rudder pedals, and the saitek tq. They all work with the aircraft, so I know that it is not a hardware problem. As far as the key mapping, qw doesn't include any utilities for key mapping. I know that users have gotten their vrinsight products to work with this aircraft using mouse macros. Does anybody know how to do this?
  10. Hi all!I recently purchased the qualitywings 757 from the AVSIM store, and, while I am very impressed and pleased with it, I am dissappointed that it does not recognize my homemade hardware. I used Desktop Aviator cards and fsuipc to make a generic mcp for airliner flying, but the only functions that are recognized by the aircraft are speed variation, vs variation, and the master FD and A/T switches. I have searched the forums and found that, while QW doesn't support all fsuipc macros, several users have programmed their hardware using mouse macros. So my question is: how is this done? Thanks in advance!GPreddy
  11. Wow! Thanks for your quick replies! It looks like UTX Alaska is the way to go.Does anyone know of any Era Alaska aircraft? I already have the Era Beech 1900d.Thanks,GPreddy
  12. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been watching Discovery Channel's "Flying Wild Alaska," and thinking, "Boy...That would be fun to fly in flight simulator." So my question is, does anyone know of any scenery that would encompass the areas seen in this show? That could mean anywhere from Point Barrow, to Unalakleet, to Anchorage. I have tried Tileproxy, but none of the services offer good coverage of Western Alaska. Thanks for your help!GPreddy
  13. Okay...I lied. This is a big problem. I recently bought a webcam and downloaded the incredible FaceTracknoIR program for use with FSX. The program works great, and tracks my face and everything, but won't input that into FSX. Could anyone help me out with the actual connecting/configuring part of this program? Thanks in advance!GPreddy
  14. Hi allToday I was setting up the project magenta demo on my laptop, and tried to connect it to my desktop running fsx using an unregistered version of WideFs. After looking at the price, I was wondering if there is a cheaeper alternative to WodeFs. (Something a 14 year old can afford. Thanks,GPreddy
  15. Hi all! Here's what I want to do...I just downloaded the Jayco Gauges Basic Six Pack onto my laptop, and I would like that to connect with FSX running on my desktop. Can I do this? How?
