  1. I suppose it comes down to which platform you're going to be using really. I myself recently bought the 747-400 add on for FSX and to be honest I can't tell any difference ,apart from some nice shiny exterior panels, from the FS9 version really, apart from a much greater hit on frames.
  2. Exactly.Microsoft have released three teaser trailers, basically showing nothing, and we're all talking about it; I don't know about anyone else but that seems like good marketing.
  3. Honestly its really hard to tell from these little snippets what the games actually going to be like. If some people were expecting photo real scenery, rex2 clouds etc then i think they may be a little unrealistic in there expectations.
  4. Just to make something crystal clear here. 'I' haven't said that, PMDG have publicly said that.PMDG WONT make any add ons for XPlane until Austin stops bringing out the miriad of 'updates' during a release as he currently does.
  5. Thats what PMDG said themselves, he's not making it up.
  6. The problem with X-Plane is that not only do they change many things between releases, but sometimes change things in an actual release, ie 9.1, 9.2 etc. If X-Plane just came out with Version 9, then Version 10, you'd probably see PMDG and the like coming on board, after all thats what happened with MSFS; FS2004 then FSX.
  7. So it may not be built from the ground up, who really cares? FSX with liposuction ain't bad at all. I'd like to be able to run FSX maxed out on something like a 1090t or I5-750 without overclocking its nuts off, if Flight delivers on this, its again no bad thing.FSX is only FS9 in new clothes, and some aspects are worse than FS9, ignoring performance issues.
  8. There is technically no difference though really, who's to say Flight Sims can't be multiplayer games, don't both FS9 and FSX have some multiplayer functionality? all you need to do is take it one or two steps further.
  9. There was something a while back, if my memory serves it was something like sending the FS9 disk and
  10. I think I've tracked the problem down, it appears that it could be that my version of FSX is corrupt, and was also affecting the PMDG in FS9.I installed FS9 and the PMDG 747 by itself on Win 7 and it works perfectly, though the load manager is still distorted, but at least the aircraft systems are fine, and thats really what matters.Fsx wouldn't install, saying there was an activation error, then told me it hadn't installed properly. The thing is the computer then told me that I didn't have any flight simulators on my computer at all.Again once FSX was deleted and I reinstalled FS9 everything was ok.Michael Hamilton
  11. I'm using a single monitor/hdtv.I've tried altering the DPI, toggling the scaling option on and off, as well as doing all the normal stuff like running in XP compatibility mode, Administrator etc, just nothing seems to do any good. I've actually noticed some of the other Eicas screens are slightly affected too, just not as much.Like I said though, once back in a Winxp 32bit environment everything is dandy, quite weird.Michael Hamiltonedit: Just to let you know, i've also had the misfortune to find the exact same thing happens in FS9, which I also own, in Win 7 X64; though again, not in WinXP 32.
  12. I've recently purchased the 747-400 for FSX and i'm having a couple of problems relating to the display of certain elements: The load Manager and the Eicas Engine displays.I've got Win XP 32bit and Win 7 64bit, and this problem only occurs when using Windows7.The thing is the aircraft flies fine, handles well and all the other systems are fine too, its very weird. The load Manager seems to be squashed and distorted compared to how it should look. The eicas is similarly squashed, with the power bars, sitting nicely on top of the power level indicator boxes; again this doesn't happen for me in WinXP 32.I know its not really a big issue, but its starting to nag at me, and I really want to use Win7 as it allows me to use more memory, and no OOMS.Thanks in advanceMichael Hamilton
