  1. Thx Dan for the quick answer! Just started the process... (and tried to upgrade signature with full name)
  2. Hey Guys! After a long time (3yrs+) just started fsx again. I bought NGX back in 2011, now unable to install new liveries since I don't have this PMDG operations center anywhere on my pc. Any1 has any ideas what shall I do now? Edit: just checked, my version is v1.00.3116 whilst the installer I just "redownloaded" says v1.10.6461... Shall I just simply update the whole thing? Or do I need a complete reinstall with uninstall first? Will it work with my old serials I got originally for the initial download/install? Srry 4 the lame questions, it's been a long time since i've last "flewn"... What u guys think?! Thx in advance! Gabor
  3. I've been in a FMS twice myself and without much real world flying experience it wasn't that straightforward... It was rather like an impact than a landing however the instructor thought it otherwise (maybe the price I've paid had a slight influence on that :) ). Strangely enough the one I made with a single engine was much smoother. God knows why...
  4. Hi Fredrik, if I remember correctly I've read it somewhere on this forum that as FSX is a 32bit game it has got a limited capability in accessing (system) memory and on top of that the VRAM also has to fit in there (I'd guess it should be somewhere between 1-4Gb of RAM altogether)... I can't find the article but I'll have a look in the near future. But it said that you have to make a compromise by using lower detail settings somewhere else as NGX is a rather complex addon. As for your rig mine roughly has the same attributes and it's been running stable on 4GHz with a Gigabyte GA-EX58 UD5 for more then 2 years now so there's definitely some reserve in your's (although I'm using watercooling; and almost have cooked it 2 weeks ago while playing FSX but that's a different story). 5. I believe you daviersoft, I just remember the twisting feeling in my stomach when I walked around an engine after the a/c have stopped at the gate. It wasn't too comfortable but it might be just me being too precautious... Maybe that's why I'm not an engineer who disconnects ASUs. :)
  6. I don't see why should it be possible to start the No2 with ASU still connected? Just try to think of ground crew operating the ASU and the health effect of the jet blast produced by the No2 spooling up. If you need an Air Starter because your APU is INOP then it's gonna be a No1 -> crossbleed No2 start IMO. I think it's been modelled correctly/logically but as I said it's only my opinion...
  7. Hi, I'd say starting engine No.1 with ASU would be preferred unless you'd like to give some hard moments for the ground crew... :) And advancing the throttle for No.1 to about 40% N1 (or to get 30 PSI) is another thing I'd try if I were you. Just 2 hints I thought are useful.RgdsGabor
  8. Roger, that's why I've asked. Never bin to EDDG ergo never used TOPCAT there. It just seemed a little bit odd to me but thanks n e way! :)
  9. Hi Berni! Great vid, thanks! Just 2 questions:1. is Flaps 15 normal for taking off in EDDG? Me don't know, never been to Osnabrueck but I normally use Flaps 5 everywhere I go.2. I'd think you can "kill" that annoying sound with the HORN CUTOUT button on the throttle quadrant but I might be wrong on this, someone smarter I'm sure will be able to tell.Don't get me wrong, I'm just asking! :) RgdsGabor
  10. Thanks for the answer Jack, I'll go and give it a try! :)
  11. Hi Guys! I'm glad I've found this video! It's very-very neat and useful. You always learn something new.Just one question at hand: how did u manage to lower the airspeed to loose momentum whilst still LNAV+VNAV engaged on the MCP???? was it just magic? :)
