  1. What a crooked programme architecture is that when add-ons interfere with each other like that?
  2. I found that the first value is not speed, but the dynamic pressure in kg/sq.cm (if I'm not mistaken the units). So 30-40 is about cruise speed for C172. While trying to adjust these values thinking they were knots I didn't succeed.
  3. I've restarted the XBox services and almost all the features got back except the live weather. Can you, please, check if you have the same symbol on the weather field when creating a flight?
  4. Hello, everyone! I own the MS Store version and I use it under the XBox Game Pass for PC. Yesterday, the XBox App received an update and I couldn't use any of the MSFS online features ever since. In the video below you can see, that there are no servers in the list (this 'automatic' and search signs stay forever), live weather is unavailable, live traffic is unavailable. I tried signing out and signing in and it didn't help. I tried reinstalling the XBox App and it didn't help. What else can I do? I'll appreciate any help. https://youtu.be/UZPCL_ySeXI
  5. Yes, another old useful feature that is broken. Assigning it to joystick axes can have a drawback if some noise is present. It will immediately throw your aircraft around as soon as you activate the slew mode. Many do. It's very useful in scenery development and other situations.
  6. But beware of accuracy of the data you get. For example, the C152 OAT indicator is off. Besides, testing the atmosphere I noticed that in the 'Clear skies' preset the lapse rate is way higher than standard and there is no way one can set the lapse rate manually. I also remember that density altitude was not affected by temperature, need to confirm if it is fixed.
  7. @Tom_L Reading the yesterdays development update one can see that your undertaking was not in vain 👍 At least some of the issues have been acknowledged.
  8. No worries. Suit yourself. Although I must add that no claims made were extraordinary. It is obvious to any person with knowledge in flight dynamics modelling. The undertaking of Asobo to create a new FM is definitely commendable, but it's also obvious that it is (and the documentation of it, for that matter) far from being complete.
  9. The fact that he can be wrong or fallible doesn't belittle the fact that he is a knowledgeable person and a well respected member of the community. Besides, him might having been wrong or fallible doesn't give anyone the right to hold a discussion in such an uncivil and immature way, especially so to the person who was not at all known here a bit more than a month ago. Nor does it give the right to that person to hold anyone accountable. You and many others don't seem to notice that after MSFS has been released your belief in "1000 points of reference" has become a sort of sectarianism. Flight dynamics model is a matter of a sober view, not bigotry. So, please, stop showing your insecurity, breathe out and enjoy the sim you love that much, but stop attacking people on the matter of disagreement. People are not trying to defile a relic — they endeavour to discuss the merits and the shortcomings of a software product.
  10. I've never flown X-plane very much. Regarding PC sims, as it has been said in the other thread, ActiveSky in P3D did very good job. However, even if we assume no sim has had it, I don't see how bad implementation can be warranted by this fact alone. If one takes a position that something has never been done and is probably impossible because due to inadequate PC capabilities or whatever, then there is no point in trying to make a realistic simulator. This sim's FD has been sold as one of the most realistic up-to-date models of the airplane interaction with the air, but it is not what I currently see. (Contrary, Lockheed has never praised the aforementioned P3D to the rafters in this regard and nobody has ever expected anything of it.) Finally, I'm surprised to find your switching of opinion so drastically. When we were testing the Alpha/Beta your view seemed to be more on the sober side.
  11. Indeed. People love to compare the sim's weather to the real world, however, they tend to forget those heaps of information about weather we have in the real world, unlike in MSFS where the best and the only source is the airport ATIS broadcast.
  12. Nobody is saying that encountering turbulence is unrealistic. What people are saying is that its implementation is unrealistic.
  13. In no circumstances a real aircraft, provided the airframe integrity is not compromised, would exhibit such weird yaw oscillations. This is with the hands (and feet) off the controls. In this video, I deliberately left the weather interface open. I've selected the Clear skies theme and reduced the wind speed to 0 and yet there are subtle oscillations present. What are they? Where do they come from? It just doesn't comply with my picture of realism. Many non-pilots would be surprised, but on a calm cool morning it's more of 'on the rails' feeling than what I experience in this sim. P. S.: and, yes, I hold a pilot licence and I have flown numerous aircraft including C152, C172, C182, DA20, DV20, DA40, DA42, different Pipers, the Chipmunk and many others.
