  1. Just been to East Fortune Museum of Flight today (near Edinburgh (Scotland!)) so that has rekindled my interest in FSX.Sad to see all the aircraft in various states of disrepair however it was nice to see inside a BA BAC 1-11 again (last time it was BCAL) and BOAC 707 front end (last time was United African Airways).Enjoyed getting up close and personal with a CF6 and RB211.Never flown on a Comet but it was nice to actually board a 4C model as operated by Dan-Air.Not forgetting a one on one exterior check and interior wander through British Airways Concorde G-BOAA - the first on the London - New York run.Getting back to matters at hand, I'll have a look see what numbers come up on the MD-11 and get back to you.
  2. There is a post on this forum giving some examples of carrier's preferred CI.With a CI of 50 you should have no problems with a typical climb speed of 250kias <FL10 increasing to 350kias >FL10 with climb rates around 3000fpm decreasing to 1000fpm round about FL30 when heavy.I use CI100 which gives the above figures with a cruise speed of M 0.827.All figures approximate-from memory!
  3. The higher the Cost Index in the FMC the higher your cruise speed and shallower your ascent profile will be.
  4. Will the 74 FMC ever be able to load FS created flight plans easily like I have seen on the MD-11?
  5. Thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated.I think I'll just run with no autogen as I find it preferable.Hope to get as much feedback in future posts.Regards.
  6. Does anyone have the know-how to create different sized trees?MS seems to have believed that the world is populated with giant sequoias that dwarf buildings and even oil tankers.Actually the whole autogen scales seems out with overly large scenery perhaps as an attempt to emphasize speed at low alt.Anyway, long story short I would like to resize the trees by 50%.Note I don't refer to the bitmap resolution and file size but the physical dimension within the sim.Can anyone help in this matter?Any help greatly appreciated.
  7. Just a heads up.Observations: 1. Left main gear inner wheel hubs protrude less that the other main gear's, they look more like the centre gear hubs.2. The horizontal part of the rear of the wing tips behind the winglets where the static dissipators are look hollow i.e. a surface is not showing.3. The Angle of attack vanes are fixed in the drooped static position, so look odd in flight. Can't win here unless they're animated.Nice model from what I've seen.
