I read the section in question. I can only guess that I must of been trimming or pressing the trim button on my yoke at the same time. I am sure this has happend before, but not very offten. I will only really know if I do another flight. And I could also do this from cold and dark and see what happens.

Ok, that is interesting. I didn't set this up...so how can I go into the menu settings and do this on purpose?

I loaded from 'Cold and Dark' on this occasion. I tried engaging the captains FD with the F/O F/D off as well.I tried many different, combinations. MCP checks seemed normal, on the ground. It is had to say now that the flight is over, but you could be right, maybe something wasn't right. I tried turning everything off at FL350. All the flight modes off one by one. CMD B off. All F/Ds off. Then doing as you say, putting the captains F/D on first then the F/O. The CMD A. (Unsuccessful) but CMD B does come on. I managed to do an ILS into RWY34 at Zurich with just CMD B, without CMD/A agreement. CMD/A wouldn't work on the ILS anyway. Can autopilots fail in this simulation or is it user error?

The FD comes on but with no green master. The CMD/A will not switch on. ON the PFD, LNAV/VNAV with green CMD. in Green, FMC SPD/LNAV/VNAV PTH https://postimg.org/image/nyvotr099/

I did try that, I saw the Captains side come on briefly (the green light). But still unable to select CMD/A.

I had to hand fly up to FL130, and am unable to engage CMD/A, however I can engage CMD/B. Even when trimmed and flying level on all modes. LNAV, Heading, etc etc. As far as I can see everything is executed in the CDU. And there are no errors on the overhead. I was wondering if it was to do with the Master option, IE the F/O or captain? I can't remember how to change this? But I might be doing something different. I have not seen this before? I am not sure if it is a fail or just me forgetting something. I would love to know what it is before I land? Thank you Jools

What is this error in the CDU 'Pin error'? I was coming into Zurich LSZH, looking for the BLM2Z. R276 DCT KLO. Then I selected the ILS 34 instrument appoach, but had a pin error? After that I could not modify any of the way points. I had to just vector myself onto the intercept course of RWY34. This is with the AIRAC 1613 in PFPX and the PMDG FMS data. Not sure if it is a faulty navadata or user error? Jools

I have the Saitek Yoke and throttles. They are a great economy choice. You can take the tops off the levers, and add a more 'airline style' set up. I have had mine for years and they are still going. I think I have seen people add an extra throttle, side by side and then you have a two throttle, spoiler, and flap set up. Never had the privilege of owning something better. But the Saitek has never let me down.

It might sound daft...but are you sure you haven't just got the auto rudder left on in the flight sim settings....both p3d and fsx have it. I have found by mistake that leaving this on can make it very hard to land?

Thank you yes I realised, in the shower the obvious answer to this. After a good nights sleep, it seems obvious now. I was just practicing circuits and tracking the 112.15 VOR at EGJJ. I was doing things different to normal. The A/T stays on which was probably what I was mixing up to the CMD.

The trim button disconnects CMD A, yet I can't see any assignments under the controls., in the p3d control settings. It has only just started doing this, but I am not sure why? Is this something I'm doing wrong with the NGX, or p3d? Many thanks Jools

I think you are still meant to land in the touchdown markings. But I think you can use the displaced area for take off. More of a general aviation question than PMDG.

It's really good when it works. That's the trouble with flight sim. You need a plug-in to make the cameras work they way they're meant to. I wish it was default.

Btw no need to improvise, those screws on the top of your Saitek Yoke are there for a reason. I can still see the result of the PMDG radio stack changing without having to use it in flight. It works really well as it would with any addon.

Ok look into this, or possibily improvise. There mut be an additional frame work that saitek do?

Thanks... I had to fly the plane and I couldn't just turn up on her runway without saying hello. So this radio stack looks like a box basically. I just have a desk. How to you make it rigid like the pro yoke. Is it a g-clamp of some sort?

Good point. Fly first and explain later. I guess 'get-there-itis' is a condition that flight simmers can often get more easily. Part of the problem I think. :Money Eyes:

Cool great, Ok this is what happened. I manged to get onto the localiser at EGSS, clear weather must of been about 7 miles out, and I thought to myself, speed is good, flaps were about 5 at this stage at about 170K, then slow to 160K by 5 DME. Reported localiser established to Essex radar 120.62, and then they asked me to report to tower 123.80. However unfortunatly I was now hand flying without the A/P, but didn't arm tower 123.80 on stand-by (my fault). I was planning to hand fly the localiser. So I had to pan down to the radio stack and put the frequency in. I started to panic by this stage and found it hard to put the frequency in using the dial to tune. (The dial split into two, the upper half and lower half.) By then I was too late and was starting to get too high to land. So I didn't want to land without permission. So just went around and flew the runway heading cleaned up then put the CMD A on and swaped the comm 1, to go back onto Essex radar. By then I had a bit more time to put in the tower frequency. I could get vectored again and do a safe landing. I know flying IFR solo isn't really what is done in a 737. I did try the first FS2Crew, and you could commard with your voice the comms and navs. But I found it a bit buggy, or if you made a slight mistake, you would confuse the first officer. I found that I was relying too much on him and not learning about the airplane enough.So I stopped using it. Maybe it is better now? I understand there is a newer version, which is a lot more comprehensive, and you can omit some off his responibilities.FS2Crew V2 (or what ever it is called)? So I did remember the saying Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. I did try and sneak the frequency in and it didn't really help my cause. But I went around and didn't want to land without permission. I find that the soley 3d cockpit is brilliant,but it is very hard selecting a radio comm. You have to admit the comm1 2,nav1 2,are a bit fidderly to use.It makes online ATC very challenging. I ended up missing a approach, and getting very distracted by the having to select the radio. Even the close up radio view, is difficult to use. Has anyone used the Saitek pro radio stack, low and behold it has all the radio comms and nav frequences? And even Adf. Does this work well with the PMDG NGX? How does it plug into the pc? if people think it is ok i might get it tonight? Thanks jools

Ok I might give this a go another time. I could not remember where the exe.xml was, I looked in the LM root but didn't see it in there.

Ok I got it going again. The login seems a bit hit and miss, but works a lot better with the key method. My virus software is a real problem, I had to uninstall it because eventhough I selected everything related to EZCA in the exclusion, it still didn't work. When i did get it running, I tried installing outside of Program Files (86x) but it wouldn't show up in the add-ons. So I just had to stick with the default location. I saved my cameras as you said and all is back to normal. Thank you very very very much!
