For more information, go to our website's Recruitment section by following this link: http://www.airserbiavirtual.com/index.php/recruitment. We hope you will enjoy flying with us. ------------------------------------------------------- About Air Serbia Virtual We are a virtual airline based at Belgrade (LYBE) with an ever growing flight network that spreads around the globe, with the main focus area in Central and Middle Eastern Europe. Our small, yet carefully chosen, fleet of thirteen aircraft operates a wide variety of flights, ranging from short 45 minute hops to 12 hour long-hauls. During the summer and winter season, we adjust our schedules and incorporate some interesting tourist destinations. This makes for an interesting, high diversity, flight network that caters to every pilot. Our fleet consists of 6 Boeing 737-700, 1 Boeing 767-300ER, 2 Fokker 100 and 3 ATR72 aircraft with plans to expand in the near future! Our current fleet has been carefully chosen based on high quality addons available for all the mentioned aircraft. Air Serbia is a voluntary, non-profit organisation created with the goal to provide you, the pilot, a realistic but yet very fun environment in which you will experience what it is like to fly for a real airline. We are focused on online flying, using the VATSIM/IVAO networks and offline flying is not allowed. By flying on these networks, you learn about flying, meteorology, radio-communications and participate in a simulated "virtual sky" full of other pilots and controllers. Our mission is to extend our operations across the entire globe and become one of World's leading virtual airlines gathering aspiring pilots from all backgrounds and experience levels thus creating a professional and educational yet fun atmosphere for pilots to enjoy. We are a certified VATSIM Partner and Authorized Training Organisation with permission to issue P1 ratings and a Global One Alliance Member partner airline.

  4. Flaps 10 is rarely used.At 210kts, go flaps1.Standard approaches call for the LOC intercept at 180kts which gives you flaps 5.Upon G/S intercept flaps 15, gear down, and you start reducing your speed.By the OM you should be in full landing configuration, vref+5, flaps30/40 and the landing checklist completed. Also, try without the HGS, because it really comes down to your feeling than chasing FPV all around the place. Also to add, most SOPs dictate 1-5-15-30 flap extension and 1-5-15-25-40 when flaps 40 is to be used. The use of 25 gives a smoother transition since there is a big difference between 15-40.The key to a good landing is a stabilized approach.EDIT:To add, this is a standard approach. We are not talking about a high speed approach this time.
  5. Practice practice, oh and did I say practice? Its an art, not a science.Try disconnecting the A/P AND A/T when you are established. You will see how the plane continues to fly perfectly because it has already been trimmed out. You just have to make slight corrections.Keep Vref+5, when you hear 20 take out the thrust, and at 10 just pull SLIGHTLY and it should land smoothly. So basically what you are looking for is to keep it at 10 for 1sec maybe.Though, it is always better to just slam it down if you see its not going well, than running out of runway/going around.
  6. The practical type rating is done on VATSIM where one of our instructors who are also certified for ATC, connect and act as ATC.We use our ACARS combined with either Skype Screen Sharing or Livestream to see if the trainee is performing the required procedures well. This is until we develop a program for instructors.
