  1. Well, from the PoV of a low-tec user...it took me saving for two years to get a PC capable enough to run FSX smoothly but even now landing in a semi-complex aircraft at an airport near a semi-large town/city means I need to switch to 2D or else my frame rates are down into single figures. People like me will always be behind the curve when it comes to hardware and especially for FS where you can't just bung in a better graphics card but you need CPU power as well. Just right after I bough a new Mobo and a quad-core processor they brought out the i7 chips so that my lovely new Mobo is useless for upgrading! When I do bush flying I never use the 2D panels, but when I do almost any other kind of flying I find them necessary, usually to land, so I voted for them to stay! Colin Martin Thanks for readin'
  2. Very much a long time lurker but newbie poster coming in here...I can only conclude that the Airbus in any form is a real problem to code accurately in FSX. My first one was from PSS and it remained the best one for a very long time at least until the Wilco/Feelthere version had some patches released. Now I fly it (the Wilco one) when I want to fly airbus but I realise it is not at the same standard as, say PMDG.Having said that, anyone who has set out to do an Airbus at PMDG level has failed. I watched Airliner XP go belly up and then Airsimmer's troubles. Now, I seem to remember a post at PMDG a long time ago saying that they were going to do the A320 family but they had other projects to do first. I don't know if they are still planning to do that but it would be interesting to see if they did because if they can't make a good version then no-one can!In the meantime people like me who like to fly Airbus have no really decent product; the PSS (for it's time, starting as an FS2002 product) and the Wilco versions are still the only ones who have come close, even though it is not close enough yet!As for this upgrade, I think I will wait to see what others say about it first. but I do hope it will be worthwhile. Say what you like about Wilco/Feelthere, they are the only ones who have actually managed to get an airbus into FSX!Colin MartinThanks for readin'
