FSX exe.xml & Simconnect .xml issues
Hi Daveo Good Q..Actually, my issue was and still is to an extent the performance of my FSX since I put W7 in...doesn't seem as good as when I had XP. So I decided to have a look at trying to find out why...So, with my limited knowledge of things IT related I came across the 'missing' files..I seem to have sorted it, I think. Now I'm trying to get FS9 back to what it was...That's even more confusing  Thanks for taking the time to post Best Wishes ZA

Hi Joe.. Thanks for the reply and your time...The exe.xml, I think I might have sorted just earlier, read something and 'created' one..So far so good! As for the simconnect..Not sure, I can't find it (don't know what I'm looking for) Again though, nothing seems amiss... Thanks for your time Ralph

FSX exe.xml & Simconnect .xml issues
Hi all... I'm using FSX & Windows 7: Was doing some checking using the XML File Tool kit and it came up with the alarming findings that I'm missing the FSX exe.xml and Simconnect.xml. To deal with the latter..I've got the simconnect.ini and I launched it and it says please "wait" while it "configures" There's a brief green 'progress' bar and then nothing...does that mean its worked? I can't find any evidence of it...but I'm probably not looking in the right place. As for the FSX exe.xml...checked with the thread here 'How to generate a new exe.xml file' and I'm a little confused as to the way forward...I've checked where it should be and can't see it. Read the part of renaming the FSX.cfg and then restarting FSX and a new one being generated...I don't Q this BTW, just a little unsure if it'll help with the problem here I've also looked at the option of a repair...my FSX 'box' sits here ready, but I'm not keen on that idea! :( Thanks in advance ZA

KW Panel Problem
Hi all... Seem to be posting quite a lot of problems here at present, but keep bumping in to them after moving to W& and my re-build of FSX. Basically,. I used the really good kw_b732_panel_project.zip ... This is available at another place  It worked a treat in my XP Kittyhawk B737-200's in FSX. For some reason, when I went to add these in my new W7 'supported' FSX...No joy..Tried all sorts but can't get the Throttle panel to show up, radio digits are missing, and there's 2 gauges missing in all versions..please see attached pic....I've followed the instructions as before too....Seems like there's something missing  <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=894784E88DDC70E1&resid=894784E88DDC70E1%21335&authkey=AMYBIXJcCatPFoA" width="320" height="200" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> Hope I've done this pic correctly ..... :Worried: Sorry bout the quality of the pic..first time I've used this. The green lines show where the problems are though. I'd be really grateful for some help with this...I'm baffled Thanks ZA

Data Volume (E:)
Hi All.... Just installed Win 7 and currently re-building my FSX...Delightful it is too  Anyway, thinking of now re-installing FS9..BUT...Was looking where to put it..I want to avoid C:/ as that's where FSX is. Another option is 'Data Volume (E:) Thing is: a) Not sure what this is b)Can I use it for FS9? c) would E:/FS9 be OK? Tried to look into this in more depth and stumbled across some PC sites, these just confirm to me how dumb I am when it comes to IT! Thanks in advance ZA

AI Transfer to Win 7
Hi Jan... Thanks for taking the time to help.... You've 'hit the nail on the head'..I haven't..and I suspect I can't as that part of my FSX is no longer there....Didn't think of it at the time  Looks like I'll be visiting WOAI again...Oh well... Thanks again ZA

AI Transfer to Win 7
Hi All.. I've just moved from XP to windows 7...and very scary it was too. :Praying: Managed to install FSX no problem..seems to be running OK...Until I decided to do the following: I'd saved all my AI AC in an external drive ready for putting back once I was up and running.....In my old system, I had these in another drive (E:/ I think) with a pointer in the FSX .cfg SimObjectPaths.7=E:\AI_Aircraft It worked well.... So I tried the same again...this time using C: Drive (E:/ Drive is called 'Data Volume E:' for some reason so not sure if it would work using that) No joy....Same .cfg entry too. So my Q is...do I need to re-install all of my AI AC (luckily I've got all the original downloaded folders) and start again? :Worried: Thanks ZA

'Failed ' Links' in FS9
Hi Mel... Thanks again for once more stepping into the breach and offering to help...Did what you advised.... Searched disk 1 MSGAME2.CAB for the FSweb Folder...I believe it resides in there...I used this to help me find it BTW.... http://www.cat-tamer.com/flightsim/faq001.html Opened said CAB File...No FSweb Folder...just a long list of jpegs, .gifs and some .html files Can it be that I create a 'FSWeb' folder and drop these in to it? Apologies for being slow on the uptake  Thanks ZA

'Failed ' Links' in FS9
Hello..ematheson Thanks for taking the time to answer... Next Q...How do I find them please?..I'm no expert at these things as you've no doubt guessed  I've got an awful feeling this might be not too easy to resolve! Thanks ZA Hi Again.. Answering my own Q...found said folder (Uires) and the links (Google Chrome html) mentioned. Clicked on them and got 'Files could not be found' Tried the same thing in FSX..no problem, went straight to where it should've gone...Something is clearly amiss here! Thanks ZA

'Failed ' Links' in FS9
Hello All... Here's an odd one. I recently re-installed FS9 in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9... I open it, I add scenery, I create free flights, no problems.. I tried to enter (out of interest) 'Flying Lessons,' 'Century of Flight' & 'Learning Centre' and I'm getting the dreaded message: "This programme Cannot Display the Webpage" (for all of them) Can anyone tell me why please?..I've got FSX and there's no problem there. I've also got FS9 on my 'allowed' list for Firewalls etc...So can'rt be that... I don't seem to have problems with other internet access...Could be quicker, but that's where I live!! Thanks in ad\vance ZA
