  1. You outdid yourself with this one, Bryan. I'm loving it so far. I just have to get used to contacting the ground crew and hearing myself talk back...
  2. I hadn't thought until that time to let the IRS's align I had just assumed there was an issue and they wouldn't, but yeah if you get the same warnings then it must be how they are supposed to work, has something to do with the alignment process I'm sure. You're right ether PMDG fixed an issue or this was a late addition for better realism.
  3. All right so I started a flight in a default state, switched the IRS's off, waited a couple of seconds and turned them back on. The warnings still popped up like they have been. So this time I tried letting the IRS's align and I entered in the current GPS position, and when the IRS's aligned the warnings went away. Which brings me back to an earlier question I had that I was just doing something dumb, but is this supposed to happen normally? I've flown this aircraft for many many hours and I've never had this happen as far as I'm aware, is this something that was added in one of the recent updates?
  4. Sorry, switching the IRS switches from Off to Nav, to begin the process of aligning. As soon as each IRS begins to align (IRS time to align +7 mins pops up on on the ND), I get the three warnings in succession. Have not yet even entered a position into the FMC. I haven't tested it yet with APU power but I've been on External power.
  5. Hello all. I'm having a problem where when I turn the IRS's to NAV, as each one starts doing it's thing I get >FMC RUNWAY DIS, then >GPS LEFT, then >GPS pop up sequentially on the EICAS. I've tried to search for this issue but I get posts with either a problem displaying FMC Runway Dis or GPS, never all three. I'm hearing that it most likely is broken panel states, so I loaded the flight up in default and made my own panel states, but I still get these errors. I have updated my airac cycle, I've updated the nav database and magdec, I've tried loading up a panel state and literally turning the plane off and on again, but no dice. I'm running on Prepar3d v4. I'm hoping this is something I'm just stupidly doing wrong so I don't have to bother anyone making a support ticket. -Sean Lewis
  6. I saw a picture somewhere of this airline in a right-hand turn onto runway 13, and I just had to recreate it. I'm loving this bird so much. (I took this screen shot while I was using instant replay so the wing flex is borked.)
  7. I was wondering if anyone had, or has made, a different or consolidated set of printable procedures for the T7 besides the one that comes with the FCOM, as the one in the FCOM is un-printable and has way too many variables for planes and configs that we don't even have (until we see the -300ER and so on.) It's kind of a pain having to scroll through pages upon pages on my iPhone because there are 2-3 pages of engine start procedures when we only have the GE90's. I looked on Avsim but I've really only been able to find procedures for the old PSS, which has much different (and IMHO, incorrect) procedures than the actual FCOM calls for. Do I need to wait for FS2Crew to be released? I know they'll at least have something. Or, god forbid, do I need to make my own? I unfortunately don't have the time for that. Thank you.
  8. JS4100. If you use the loadsheet to fill every seat on the plane he's near the wing on the right side.
  9. Well this is... Interesting. I was flying around with the J41 today and I had a full load, every seat filled. I must have looked at all the passengers tons of times over the years since I've owned the J41, but I never noticed this guy... To anyone who's familiar with the popular Valve game Team Fortress 2 will instantly recognize this face, and especially those glasses. Coincidence? Probably. I'm going crazy? Most likely. Though I'd like to believe for whomever was in charge of putting/making the skins on the passenger models, we know what their favorite class was. Has anyone else noticed this and I'm just late to the party?
  10. I return with (mostly) good news! Just did a flight from Heathrow to Dublin and the sound issue I had a month earlier didn't occur, even when I was switching screens and everything. My only issue was that right in the middle, FSX decided to crash. I'm /pretty/ sure this was the J41's fault, I'm having a lot of issues with it. The IAS hold makes the plane go out of control and FSX almost always crashes... I think I might have accidentally touched the "Headset" button a bunch of times or there was an issue with the sound driver that it decided to use and it just got confused. I touched neither and it worked perfectly. Appart from the crash.
  11. FSX's DX10? Off, definitely. AFAIK it wasn't even finished or something, more like a "Here's what it will look like when it's released!" sort of thing, so it takes a huge chunk of resources for not a lot of results. I actually did just recently re-install FSX and I haven't done that yet.
  12. I've heard that ADF2 is not modeled in FSX or something weird like that? I can't confirm that so take it with a grain of salt. This is why the ADF2 on the 737NGX have little "INOP" stickers on them.
  13. It's a 2GB card. The second moniter was one that wasn't being used anymore so I set it up so I could have Flight Sim related apps (TOPCAT and whatnot) and Firefox on the other screen and still have FSX flying on the main screen. I don't remember if it did, but I'm going to assume that it didn't. I didn't set it to bypass that waypoint and I didn't have a SID set. It should have been DIRECT to MADEP on the CDU.
  14. Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.40GHz 16.0 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz ASRock P67 Performance (Mobo) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 - (Main) DELL S2330MX (1920x1080@60Hz), (Second) DELL E207WFP (1680x1050@60Hz) 932GB Seagate HD I'm glad you like it! It's actually the first rig I've ever built. Learned quite a bit from it.
  15. Thanks for the response! This has happened before and much more frequently on the MD-11 actually, but I think this is the first time with the NGX. Maybe there's something with the VOR that's a bit wonky. I don't think it's the AIRAC files but I'm not sure what else that could be. Yes, this is not the dreaded S-turn issue as I wasn't slaloming back and forth (on an unrelated note I've, thankfully, never had that issue on the NGX, but it plauged me for a very long time with the MD-11), but rather it just happily went off course until the VOR came up and it decided it needed to be in the correct position to fly over it. It's funny that the wind is even there at all, as I'm so sick of FSX's wind issues that while using REX Essentials I've just simply turned off real-world wind, so why there's any wind at all is a mystery. It just likes to come back randomly on different flights.
  16. Alright. Clearly this is not a shortcut, as now I'm in a fairly heavy turn to get back on the path to hit MADEP.
  17. Hi all, I had a question. I'm flying Auckland to Sydney, I just took off runway 5R and I'm direct to MADEP. After MADEP there's a slight left lean to the next waypoint, but right now the 737 is very slightly heading more left and not following the LNAV path to the waypoint MADEP, but instead it almost looks like it's going to go past MADEP on the left, but still close enough that it will still hit and continue the path on the other side. Picture of my ND right now. I wouldn't normally think anything of this considering the tailwind, but the deviation number on the bottom (1.8L) keeps getting higher as the plane is dead-set on not following the LNAV path exactly. So my question is, is the FMC cutting the corner by just a bit to save time/fuel? Or is this some sort of error? I have a Cost Index of 29 at the moment. I didn't think the FMC was smart enough to do something like this on it's own, if this is normal and the FMCs' doing.
  18. Yup, it says my current version is up to date.
  19. I believe the newest one, the config manager says version 1.0. I just bought it so it should be the newest, and there doesn't seem to be an update for the Button control version (only Voice).
  20. I just bought the Button version of the J41 after finding the button versions more comfortable to use than the voice ones, and I'm running into a sound issue. I've tried to fly the J41 3 times now and every time this keeps happening. I'll be setting up the flight and the co-pilot will be heard as normal, but I'll forget to write something down or have to look at another window, so I pause and minimize FSX, when I come back there are no voices, the co-pilot doesn't announce that he's doing the walk-around, or coming back from it. By some random occurance when I pause FSX, I will suddenly hear the backed-up voices in succession. After this I try to continue the flight, I click the button for "Accept Loadsheet", no voices, but when I pause it again, I hear the FA with the loadsheet and the Captain reciving it. I've never had this problem on the Voice version of the J41 (which is completely uninstalled from my computer as per manual instructions). It's almost like FS2Crew get's confused whether the simulator is actually paused or not and loses it's mind when I minimize FSX to go to another window. If you need any more information please let me know, thanks. EDIT: I've uninstalled/reinstalled the J41 and FS2Crew and still get the same issue.
  21. Hello all, I just thought I'd share this lovely FSX moment. So I'm using the 737-800NGX, a real flight, American 2189 from Dallas to Belize. I'm coming in to land visual runway 07, I pass DH, and... Uh... I've never been to Belize, but I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to be like that. Maybe a new system of stopping planes faster? It reminds me of that Husqvarna commercial where the grass and trees grow into a jungle overnight. Just turned off the scenery objects for landing and everything was fine. I've run into this problem before at, I /think/, San Deigo, where there's an office building or something right in front of the runway. Gotta love FSX. I thought I'd share this moment that made me laugh. Happy New Years, everyone!!
  22. I'm having the same problems, they just started for me today, yesterday everything was working fine every time. Everything that froze would be completely random each time too, first it was the 2D panel that froze, then the displays in the 3D views got stuck, then the switches on the overhead. As someone stated before me this seems to be a recurring theme with PMDG as my MD-11 does the same thing, but thankfully cycling through the views /always/ fixes the problem. No such luck on the 737 it seems, which is annoying because I can actually live with everything freezing, if the "cycle views" thing worked. I'm also using the -800WL, haven't even flown the others in a real flight situation. The only silver lining I can see is my freezing problems always happen when I'm setting up the plane, so not much of my time is lost. I would be extremely frustrated if I took off and it would freeze every time. Running: Windows 7 32-bit, Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz, 4GB RAM Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz, 2 nVidia 512MB GeForce 9800 GT's Hope this gets figured out!
