Searching Z77 Motherboard for stable 2700K overclocking
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI Saab340, I finally buyed a Maximus V Gene, 2700K, GTX670 and 2x4Gb Ripjaws 2133. Yes, the 660Ti works fine, but I've read that has that has any isues with AA. Decreases to much it's perfomance. regards, Austim

Power supply and RAM
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThanks Ben. This morning I was searching for TX750 in my city, but i haven't found it. I only found the ugly CS800. I will wait for TX750. It seems it's a good PSU. Finally I change the 2500K for a 2700K. I know i't not a significant increase, but if Idecides to change FSX for X-Plane or another new flight simulator In future, perhaps any new simulator will use HT. I don't know. 85€ is not a big difference. I've mounted my new PC, except PSU. I'm using temporally a 600W Thermaltake Litepower (Awesowe, it works with the GTX670) :diablo: Motherboard is Maximus Gene V, i7 2700K, G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x8Gb 2133, and an Asus GTX670. First manually intent to overclock to 4.5 was succesful. -P I need to reconfigure some things of my old system, but at the moment, FSX seems to run very good. Regards, Austin

Power supply and RAM
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThanks Randy, Whats your framerate in very dense scenerys like London VFR + GLobal + REX or AS......? I buyed yesterday my 2500K and I'm thinking to change my 2500K for a 2700K, but not sure if there are significative frame rate increase, if I need to deactive HT for overclocking it. I'm thinking to overclock it to 4.5 Regards, austin

Power supply and RAM
Any recomendation in 700 or 800W range ? 2500K with one GTX670, no SLI. I've no idea of high end RAMS. Perhaps G.Skil Ripjawks 2x8Gb modules at 2133 0r 2400? Any other model or brand? I'm searching stability under smooth overclock, Thanks, Austin

Searching Z77 Motherboard for stable 2700K overclocking
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcSome RAM specs: Maximus V Gene: 4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2600(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory Dual Channel Memory Architecture Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) * Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs. Sabertooth: 4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 1866/1600/1333 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory Dual Channel Memory Architecture Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) * Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs. It seems ths Maximus V Gene it's a bit better with high end RAM. I don't now what tipe of RAM I'll use, but with MVG I have the possibilities of use 2800 if I need it. Insane overclock? :diablo: Perhaps the best mother would be a "mix" between these two motheboards. A gene V with ATX size and 3 PCIe. No, Maximus V Formula is too much expensive -P Regards, Austin

Searching Z77 Motherboard for stable 2700K overclocking
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThanks Santi, I was concerned with my choice, because I do not like to be wrong with the choice of components. I love Sabertooth. It's beautiful and was my first choice. I hesitate to change it by maximus V Gene. There are any important difference between these two motherboards? Size appart, of course. -P There is some other problem with that is micro ATX board, apart from space for graphics cards? I prefer a large motherboard, but I think I really do not need that extra space. Perhaps I'm wrong. Regards, Austin

Searching Z77 Motherboard for stable 2700K overclocking
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcYes, MVG it's a micro ATX, but this is not a problem for me due I use only one graphic card, with no SLI or Crossfire. I like Sabertooth very very much. Of fact, it was my first choice. But after a read a lot of information and reviews, I have seen it's a bit more "special" with very high speed RAM's. I don't now if this question is true or not, but I've seen any review with any issue starting system using 2133-2400 RAM, Certainly, the Maximus V Gene is a rare board. It's very little. I like big motherboards, but of fact, this is not an important trouble for me, due I don't need to use two graphic cards. MV Formula is to much expensive for me. I buyed a few minutes ago, a Maximus V Gene, an i5 2500K and an Asus GTX670 Direct CUII. I think FSX will run smoothly with this hardware. Perhaps an 2600K/2700K will be better, but I think this 2500K with a 4.5GHz overclock will run FSX good. ¿Do you thik it's a good hardware choice? I'm in time to change any component. I prefer 2700K, but if FSX not use Hypetreading, ¿The only difference between 2500K and 2700K is the 200MHZ speed? I don't knoy if the 2Mb of cache it's an important question in FSX. My computer is for FSX exclusive use. Regards. Austin

Searching Z77 Motherboard for stable 2700K overclocking
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcIt's a cheap option. I don't know how capable is this board for overclocking, specially al high RAM speeds. I'm considering now to buy a MVG with a 2500K and buy a GTX670 & better RAM with money difference. Perhaps a little expensi mother alternative, like Gigabyte? MVG is really a big tempation. Sabertooth too. -P Regards, Austin

Searching Z77 Motherboard for stable 2700K overclocking
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI've now an Crosshair IV Formula and is too the best board I've owned. Unfortunately, FSX is not a good friend of an AMD Phenom 1090T. Then, the question is between: Maximus V Gene, GA-Z77X-UP5 TH, and Sabertooth. ¿Perhaps MVG is a bit better for overclock than Sabertooth? Maximus V formula is to much expensive. There are a real perfomance diference between the new GTX660Ti and GTX670Ti? Regards, Austin

Searching Z77 Motherboard for stable 2700K overclocking
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThanks Jete, I't seems a great board, but I have not confidence with MSI and Asrock brands. Perhaps would be a good choice, but i've dudes about these brands. I think in Asus, Gibabyte terms. But i'm lost in a lot of models: g.sniper.3, sabertooth, maximus V gene (MV formula is out of my economy)..... Regards, Austin

Searching Z77 Motherboard for stable 2700K overclocking
agusti747 replied to agusti747's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThanks Ben, I think Maximus V Gene will be a good choice, but saberttoth is a great temptation... And perhaps an P8Z77-V Pro is more modern motherboard. I don't know. I've read Maximus V Gene has some stutters issues when using 2 graphics cards.... Perhaps is not true. I've an Cooler Master 2120 Hyper EVO air cooling system. In first instance I will try to reach 4.5 with this, if possible. In future, perhaps I will buy an H80 or H100 to reach upper clock speeds. I think 4.5GHz is an reaseonable speed with and air cooled 2700K. No problem with lower speeds. I've time to buy another cooling system in future and increase clock speed. Austin

Searching Z77 Motherboard for stable 2700K overclocking
Hi, Tomorrow I will buy a new computer. I need to choose a new CPU, motherboard, and VGA. Computer will be used only for FSX flight simulation. No other games, except perhaps Prepar3D or X-Plane 10 in a future. I've decided for a i7 2700K, due a better overclocking temperatures and an Z77 motherboard. I've read a lot about motherboards info but I need to decide today wich moterboard I'll buy. Candidates: ASUS (I'm a happy Asus user) Sabertooth Z77 Maximus V Gene P8Z77-V Pro Perhaps some Gigabytes: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H Asrock perhaps is a good choice, but I not have confidence with this brand. I'm having a hard time deciding between those motherboards. What do you think about this? ¿Another candidates? I need to overclok the 2700K between 4.5-5GHz and use a 2133 or 2400 RAM (2x8Gb) Anether question: I'm thinking in a new VGA. Asus GTX660Ti OC2 seems a good choice, but GTX670DCII is only 80€ more expensive. Really is a significative difference in frame rates on FSX. ¿Anpther good choice? Thanks, Austin

Loss of frames undocking PDF, ND & EICAS Windows?
Until today, I use an external frame limiter called FPS Limiter 0.2. In FSX setup I'd frames in unlimited and limited it to 30 with this external limiter. In my computer resulted in a smooth movement. But only with one monitor. If I use two or more monitors, use of FPS Limiter results in a loss of frame rate. I try to setup this in 60 frames per second with 2 monitors or 90 with 3 monitor, with significative gain, but not as great as without it. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/292799-fps-limiter-02-and-fsx/ Regards, Austin

Loss of frames undocking PDF, ND & EICAS Windows?
SOLVED! Loss frame rate was due to use of a external frame limiter. Executing FSX without this limiter it works great! Regards, Austin
