  1. Hey there everybody. I'm trying to find out what is the cause behing this crappy issue i'm having. It happens not just with FSX. But I'll try and explain it the best way I can. Every now and then my hard drive(I don't know which one cause I have 3) will lag when trying to even try to open up Firefox or when I open up My Computer to explore the drives. The hard drive(s) will lag for around 3-5 seconds then there is a clicking noise then it will load. It also happens when I'm flying around in FSX. The sim will freeze and the hard drives do their thing(lag and click) and then FSX crashes to the desktop. Is that a drive problem or, what my guy who built my computer says, the hard drive controller? I'm lost when it comes to stuff like this. I have the new Intel SandyBridge MOBO but had the one with defect replaced with the new replacement that ASUS issued. Any thoughts/leads?These are my drives:1 Intel X25-M SSD 80GB 1 WD VelociRaptor 300GB 10000rpm1 Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 7200rpm
  2. Well I did and they don't seem to care much cause i posted yesterday and nobody has responded yet. That's strange for a forum.
  3. This is all I see when I pull that up.
  4. Screenshot of whole desktop or more details about pop up message?
  5. I finish with a flight using REX 2.0. And when I exit FSX. This message pops up. I didn't include the details drop down explanation, but it has REX in the details. What does this mean?
  6. Hardy Har har.... :(
  7. What does it do by adding that line?
  8. Ok. Let me set the scenario here. I made a flight from KJAN - KAGS. Routine flight and everything. Everything is normally fine until let's say I open a FSX drop menu to change settings or something like that. Or let's say I check the flight analysis at the end of the flight like I always do. I do that and everytime I come back to the aircraft. I GET ALL THIS...... WHY? Every picture was me resetting and pressing ESC and going to the flight analysis or just hitting ESC and coming back into FSX.
  9. I thought the hard drive had to be specifically able to do that. You can't plug a SATA 3 hard drive into a SATA 6 right?
  10. Yeah but I've noticed some weird things going on with my computer and it sounds like the hard drives get locked up. I don't know if it's a stupid virus (already!!) or the problem kicking in. Like it will be as simple as opening up a folder or firefox. The computer just sits there and thinks a long time and then starts moving, but I can hear something clicking down there like with the hard drives. I don't know. Building a computer has been such a headache. FSX just crashed on me a few minutes ago! Ahhhhh....... I think the problem is affecting mine already. I'm going to talk to the guy who built my computer and find out some more information.
  11. How has everyone coped with the Sandy Bridge defect? Done the workaround? Or replaced their MOBO? Or waiting for new chipset MOBO? I haven't done anything but will eventually.
  12. Anybody got the sandy bridge chipset and been notified of the defect and what have you done about as far as flying in Flight Sim X. I know I'm a little late in asking cause i've just going about my business.
  13. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Why does it do this. I was hoping to avoid this annoying problem with a new computer and protecting it like crazy! What would make FSX crash when I'm 1:30 into a flight in the Flight 1 cessna mustang and REX running?? And when I get the desktop, it gives the microsoft.net framework message that a program has encountered an error, and if i click continue it will ignore the issue but the message wil pop back up, and I have to click quit for the program to quit. The explanation of the problem it says, is that REX has encountered an error. Why? Why? Why??
  14. Cool. I'll consider that when I take it to get worked on. Thanks!
  15. Yeah the power supply seems great. Yeah the graphics card is factory overclocked. But geez, the guy who built it for me said they booted everything up and it was running like dream. Got an update though, and I believe the monitor is confirmed to be the lemon but I will get my buddy who built it to make sure this weekend. I called LG, they said it was the graphics card. I called EVGA, they said it had to be the monitor. Nobody want's the blame for the POS device!! The LG person i chatted with yesterday obviously didn't have a clue bc he said that i couldn't hook up the monitor with hdmi and evga said he was full of crap cause he walked me through hooking it up with hdmi except we were having issues with the monitor recognizing the connection. The evga guy also confirmed that after testing the DVI connection and it didn't work between the monitor and the card then it has to be the cord or the monitor. I hardly believe it's the cord. SO....... I've hooked a friend's old DELL monitor and tested flight sim, and I've just had it hooked up for about 2 hours now and no blips, shut-offs, or nothing. SO.... Time for another Newegg RMA!!! Yeah luckily through this whole issue i haven't received a BSOD!!!
  16. Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold
  17. Well I'll take back to the guy that built my computer for me and see what he thinks cause when he built it, he didn't use my monitor. I kept it and just hooked it up to my laptop to just make sure it worked. And come to think of it, it didn't do that problem then. So obviously it has to be something with the computer, which really sucks!
  18. Well crap, I've got 1000W. Should be plenty right? And I have the EVGA Precision and it says the GPU temp is 59 under load during FSX.
  19. Sorry, that was a reply for Arklight1. :(
  20. Well the GTX 580 is DVI-I and I tried a DVI-D but that wouldn't even work. Apparently i need an adapter. I really don't know that the freakin deal is? I don't know if it's the computer or the monitor? Cause I just tried my PS3 for a good thirty minutes and the monitor didn't turn off or anything. If it had been taking input from the computer, it would have already shut off and on like 15 times!!!
  21. I'm gonna hook the monitor up to PS3 using the hdmi and see if it still does it. I wouldn't think it would he the processor doing it but I did search it and now I have this to deal with!!! http://newsroom.intel.com/community/intel_newsroom/blog/2011/01/31/intel-identifies-chipset-design-error-implementing-solutionLife is definitely not good with my new computer...
  22. That's exactly what mine is doing!!!! At least I still have proof of purchase but sending it back in is the problem since some of the packaging wouldn't be like I received it. Still have box and documents and all CDs and cords, but don't have the styrofoam. Guess Newegg would make that call.
  23. Well that would be helpful except the MOBO has zero on-board graphics.
  24. Nevermind, I have the nVidia Inspector and checked it and the temp was 41 C. Normal?
