February 1, 201115 yr Well I finally got my computer running. i7 2600K, GTX 580, 8 GB RAM.... everything is working fine until my monitor starts shutting off and turning back on randomly. I have an LG 2360. Anybody having this issue? I am plugging it up with the VGA/DVI adapter. Also, why does some scenery at an airport flickr? Like runway markings and taxiway markings, and the whole runway section? It's like a glitch. Why does it do that? Was it a problem during the installation process? thanks

February 1, 201115 yr Hopefully it's something simple like a monitor issue. Check your "sleep and hibernation" settings too, and disable them. The flickering is probably DX10 preview - it sucks. February 1, 201115 yr I'm assuming you have DX10 preview checked. Uncheck it and the flickering will go away.I have FSX running on Windows XP Pro 32 bit so I obviously don't have a DX10 preview. I too had the flickering and the only way to reduce it was by carefully making adjustments in NVIDIA Inspector.Regards, Mike Mann Mike Mann

February 1, 201115 yr Well I spoke to an LG representative today and he thinks that it's the adapter and cord.LOL well of course they'll say that... it could be an overheating video card but seems like the monitor. Do you have a second one for a quick test? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 1, 201115 yr How old is the monitor? I had this issue once with a ViewSonic 19" LCD. The power light on the monitor kept going on and off. After further investigation 5 out of the 7 capacitors on the monitors power supply circuit board passed their life expectancy. 10 dollars in capacitors later and the monitor worked like brand new. Not bad considering I got the monitor for free. Nick Preston

Do you have a second one for a quick test?I would think it's not overheating cause it will just do it on desktop view and not under a load. February 1, 201115 yr Could you try hooking it up to the integrated graphics? that way you could rule out a problem with the GF580. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
February 1, 201115 yr Well that would be helpful except the MOBO has zero on-board graphics.Hmm interesting, since the CPU (I7-2600K) has an internal GPU!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
