Well I finally got my computer running. i7 2600K, GTX 580, 8 GB RAM.... everything is working fine until my monitor starts shutting off and turning back on randomly. I have an LG 2360. Anybody having this issue? I am plugging it up with the VGA/DVI adapter. Also, why does some scenery at an airport flickr? Like runway markings and taxiway markings, and the whole runway section? It's like a glitch. Why does it do that? Was it a problem during the installation process? thanks

I'm assuming you have DX10 preview checked. Uncheck it and the flickering will go away.

Hopefully it's something simple like a monitor issue. Check your "sleep and hibernation" settings too, and disable them. The flickering is probably DX10 preview - it sucks. Don't use it.

In between the "crap" who is the performance? I'm about to build a similar system but won't waste the money if its not worth it.

I have FSX running on Windows XP Pro 32 bit so I obviously don't have a DX10 preview. I too had the flickering and the only way to reduce it was by carefully making adjustments in NVIDIA Inspector.Regards, Mike Mann

Well I spoke to an LG representative today and he thinks that it's the adapter and cord.

Oh man the performance is absolutely amazing! I haven't begun to tweak or overclock. Big%20Grin.gif

LOL well of course they'll say that... it could be an overheating video card but seems like the monitor. Do you have a second one for a quick test?

How old is the monitor? I had this issue once with a ViewSonic 19" LCD. The power light on the monitor kept going on and off. After further investigation 5 out of the 7 capacitors on the monitors power supply circuit board passed their life expectancy. 10 dollars in capacitors later and the monitor worked like brand new. Not bad considering I got the monitor for free.

I would think it's not overheating cause it will just do it on desktop view and not under a load. Isn't there a way to check the temp of the video card?

It's a brand new model LG I believe. I've only had it for a week. dry.gifOh and the DX10 box fixed the flickring of the scenery...

Nevermind, I have the nVidia Inspector and checked it and the temp was 41 C. Normal?

Well that would be helpful except the MOBO has zero on-board graphics.

Hmm interesting, since the CPU (I7-2600K) has an internal GPU!!
His motherboard doesn't though... since he got the overclocking board (I assume).

I had 2 LG monitors fail in the same week. LG refused to fix as I had not kept proof of purchase. Here's a video I made at the time of the fault.

Anybody want to buy 2 paperweights?
