February 1, 201115 yr My LG also failed after 4-5 months of use... C172P N97674 PPL SEL Complex High Performance
February 1, 201115 yr Author That's exactly what mine is doing!!!! At least I still have proof of purchase but sending it back in is the problem since some of the packaging wouldn't be like I received it. Still have box and documents and all CDs and cords, but don't have the styrofoam. Guess Newegg would make that call.
February 1, 201115 yr Hi,I bought a Hannspree and have had it for 3.5 hears. Its a 28 inch I believe. Never even a hickup.Bob I had 2 LG monitors fail in the same week. LG refused to fix as I had not kept proof of purchase. Here's a video I made at the time of the fault. Anybody want to buy 2 paperweights? Officially retired

I keep all receipts for at least one full year in a file folder.Seems like you got the "LB" monitors ("Life's Bad") instead of the "LG" monitors ("Life's Good")... :( Fr. February 1, 201115 yr Author I'm gonna hook the monitor up to PS3 using the hdmi and see if it still does it. I wouldn't think it would he the processor doing it but I did search it and now I have this to deal with!!! http://newsroom.intel.com/community/intel_newsroom/blog/2011/01/31/intel-identifies-chipset-design-error-implementing-solutionLife is definitely not good with my new computer...
February 1, 201115 yr Commercial Member Ouch! I keep all receipts for at least one full year in a file folder.Seems like you got the "LB" monitors ("Life's Bad") instead of the "LG" monitors ("Life's Good")... :(I normally do but they came from Tesco so receipt got binned as part of normal shopping.I think they had 18 month warranty, the manufacture date was within this, they new this with the serial numbers but they stuck to their rights and refused to fix it.I've since found out that this is a very common fault with this monitor, like very very very common.Lousy customer service or what! February 1, 201115 yr Well I finally got my computer running. i7 2600K, GTX 580, 8 GB RAM.... everything is working fine until my monitor starts shutting off and turning back on randomly. I have an LG 2360. Anybody having this issue? I am plugging it up with the VGA/DVI adapter. Also, why does some scenery at an airport flickr? Like runway markings and taxiway markings, and the whole runway section? It's like a glitch. Why does it do that? Was it a problem during the installation process? thanksWhy VGA/DVI adapter and not just straight DVI to DVI? Apparently i need an adapter. I really don't know that the freakin deal is? I don't know if it's the computer or the monitor? Cause I just tried my PS3 for a good thirty minutes and the monitor didn't turn off or anything. If it had been taking input from the computer, it would have already shut off and on like 15 times!!!
February 1, 201115 yr I'm using three 20" LG LCD monitors hooked up to TripleHead2Go. My center monitor is about 1 year old. The other two monitors are 6 months old. So far, they work fine. Got them at a local Best Buy.

It's possible that you have a border-line weak power supply, or possibly a heat related issued with the video card that's causing a thermal shutdown. Fr. And I have the EVGA Precision and it says the GPU temp is 59 under load during FSX.
February 2, 201115 yr Moderator Well crap, I've got 1000W. Should be plenty right? And I have the EVGA Precision and it says the GPU temp is 59 under load during FSX.I had a similar problem with one of my monitors shutting down periodically with FSX loaded several years ago. Turned out to be a power supply problem. One of the rails supplying the video card just wasn't up to snuff and would go into current overload shutdown. As soon as the protection recovered, it'd run OK for a bit longer then shut down again.Keep in mind that the power supply has multiple voltages and current capabilities.Have you tested both monitors with your PS3? If both work without shutdown, the problem is quite obviously somewhere else. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

I kept it and just hooked it up to my laptop to just make sure it worked. And come to think of it, it didn't do that problem then. So obviously it has to be something with the computer, which really sucks!
