  1. Well, here goes. Just purchased this aircraft, despite some of the things that I've read. I am a very big fan of Flight1, but i must say the rant by Jim was not too noteworthy. The Mustang had always been a favorite of mine and I would truly have flown it more if not for the FPS issues. I have a pretty decent system, not overclocked, i7 quad, liquid cooled 8gigs of ram Nvidia 295 GTX. The exterior of the aircraft is quite nicely done and i enjoyed it visually, just not that white paint, which is overwhelmingly flat in contrast and dullness. The interior is not what I was expecting, to me far less interesting then that of the Mustang. The one thing that struck me the most was the lack on symmetry in the placement of the rudder peddles in conjunction with rest of the pit. Cockeyed and off center from the Yoke. The sound was very nice externally but inside it went from low rpms to a much higher rpm note with something missing it seems in between. All systems worked flawlessly and the Hand flying was outstanding. Ground handling was very nice and I was a bit curious what to expect with that, being that I had read several comments to the contrary. I really wanted to like this aircraft, but its not the package I thought it would be. The FPS is another factor with this aircraft. At PNW Orcas , no other ai aircraft other than what the scenery provides, I was getting 18 with a 3 FPS mouse lag drop in the VC. All sliders set to medium and unlimited on FPS. Not my cup of tea for a small GA airport. Should have paragraphed this, never meant to go on this long. Sadly, returning it.
  2. And you think I personally care about your opinions, dream on.
  3. Yea, your a real funny guy, but for some of us, we kinda like things to be somewhat accurate, certainly not perfect but at least passable. Troll on Billy Bob...........................
  4. Well actually, as the aircraft is setup, the autopilot included is a very simplistic model and requires more pilot input. Bare bones, but a reliable one. The autopilot at the pedestal, has a rocker switch which controls your vertical ascent and decent and you must watch your vertical speed indicator just below the altimeter gauge to visually view this and adjust accordingly. Very manual, but as I said very reliable. The altitude is also selected manually, by engaging the alt button, also at the pedestal, when the proper altitude is reached. So as you climb to your known altitude or descend, you would prepare yourself as odd as it may sound, with one hand hanging down at the pedestal console, to push the alt button. LOL.
  5. I called Cessna and asked if the Belly Beacon was ever located in the position that Carenado has placed it and they replied, no. I then asked about the color choice for the panel that Carenado chose, that's also wrong. So unless I got an uniformed rep from Cessna, who didn't know what he was talking about, or Carenado just did what they wanted and ignored the actual aircraft. I can understand the other issues with flight model adjustments or the complicated gauge issues that need addressing, but this is basic modeling oversights that ruin the immersion before you ever even make it to the more complex issues. At least color the panel correct, are you out of gray paint? I could lend you some. I've flown a few 340s and have never seen one with that cockpit color. So if I'm wrong about the placement of the Beacon or the panel color, then put me in my place. I would actually prefer to be wrong. LOL.
  6. Shouldn't the panel be gray? Never seen a white one.
  7. Is it me, or is it year and model specific on that belly strobe/ beacon, because I've only seen that light on the other side of the fuselage, under the pilot area..............
  8. But me no buts? So in your words, if there are no complaints, then what's to fix. LOL................................
  9. Yea, but the Milviz 310 has the worst lighting bugs I've ever seen in FSX. At least with Carenado they can fix their issues, unlike Milviz, who say they know about the bug, but won't fix it because it's cost to repair is not financially viable......
