Ok, I'll try and find DX11 and look at re-installing. One thing I noted is that there is a version of .net 2.0 in the download but Win 7 64bit will not install this. I wonder if this is the problem, but as .net 3.5 is part of the OS should this not include .net 2.0?

My REX is updated to version 1.3 which I beleive is the latest, I can't see any other updates after SP3.

Can anyone give some tips on installing REX overdrive. I downloaded it this morning and when I try to install I get a message about an application not closing properly (or something like). I have FS9 running on Win7 64bit. REX is installed in my /programs files x86 folder. Thank you.

I am also suffering this problem since downloading historical weather dated 23rd May onwards. Re-installed twice to no avail. Is this the end for ASv6.5? Am I going to have to fork out $30 for ASE or is there an alternative? It also comes up with a runtime 75 error whilst trying to download historical Wx.I also run FS9 and use REX textures but don't like the Wx engine as much as you can't download past weather.

It's all sorted now. I remembered that I saved the program file on memory stick, so I've loaded it and I think it works. Thanks.

Hello. I've just upgraded to a new computer for FS9. I'm in the process of re-loading and downloading all the programs I use. However, I see that there is no longer a download option for AS6.5. Given that I'm happy with its Wx engine (though do use REX textures) how can I get is t my new computer? Is it a case of saving the AS6.5 folder in the FS9/MODULES folder to disk and reloading. I'm reluctant to pay again for another program. Thanks.

I really need a new computer to run FS9 as my current laptop really struggles with 3d clouds using active Sky 6.5 on the lowest res using DXT3 textures (~5fps). With simple clouds I get about 18-20fps which is ok.The other addons are a few regional WOAI airlines (UK based), UTE, UK2000 airfields and Scotflight. Occasionally I enable JustFlight VFR. I quite fancy getting a decent WWII A/C for FS9. I have some freeware models, the Seafury, tried the AH Seafire and currently running the AF Scrub Seafire with Gary Joones Griffon sounds, fantastic. Just thinking What else is recommended wither pay or free with accurate flight model, good sound and frame friendly. The Realair Spit gets good write ups, does anyone have any comments on the following as well?Warbirdsim P-51Wings of Power P-51Going to download the AH Hurricane (for the Sea Hurricane as I have a leaning towards FAA types).Thanks in anticipation.

Well I tried the Andy Weir UKN mesh but it didn't look to good (I could have installed the BGL file wrong as I had problems adding it to the scenery library). In the end I decided to get the FSG 19m mesh, just installed it but yet to see the results. I also installed Scotflight (am I right in thinking this doesn't appear as a seprate entry on the scenery library?). I've yet to do the adjustements. Slowly getting FS9 how I want it and so the computer can cope.

Thanks for the replies. That procedure for adjusting UT coastlines looks daunting but I may give it a go! Can't understand why everyone can't work to the same data!As for the freeware mesh, there's nothing to loose so I may give that a try initially and see what happens.BTW, having just done a flight with photoscenery enabled for the first time in ages I do miss it. Did anyone ever produce such scenery for Scotland?

HelloI'm considering getting the scotflight scenery so I can have fun flying in this nice part of the UK. Currently I have UK2000 airfields, use Ultimate Terrain and the mesh that came with the JustFlight/VisualFlight VFR photo scenery (which I no longer use 'cause of 'blurries'). As this mesh doesn't extend to Scotland what options do I have. I was considering the FSGenesis 76.4M for UK but note it is discontiued but can be obtained by getting the European bundle (at a good price). FSGenesis now do the NEXTmap 19M for UK but not sure if my machine would handle it? In fact I'm not sure what the resolution of terrain mesh I'm using at the minute is. What else is availabe, FSGlobal? Would have to be 2008 as the latest is a bit pricey for me!Thanks in anticipation.

HelloI was going to download the UK terrain mesh from FS Genesis lastnight, but I can't seem to connect to their website, is anyone else having problems?

Ok.it sounds like the UK2000 airport series will be obtained at some point but I would prefer to get the UK terrain/topography done first. Ultimate Terrain Europe does look ok if I can find one for sale, though I can get a Just Flight package for £40 which aint bad...

When I install FS9 I will try a free download. The Horizon Gen-X I believe has the old FS9 files as well as the new FSX ones so two in one really?" I have installed VFR Photographic Scenery and VFR Terrain"Who makes this product, is it the Just Flight package?It'll all make sense to me soon I hope, once it's up and running.

HelloApologies if this has been asked many times, reading through old posts has confused me! I'm going to get FS9 as I think it will work best on my computer but would like to enhance the UK scenery. I would also like som airfields to be quite detailed and AI traffic too. So. what is the best way forward for this. UK2000 scenery seems to be well regarded and looking at the screen shots probably fits my need. I don't want detail over the top, for example I currently use FU3 and am actually quite happy with its appearnance (easily pleased!) Other options appear to be from Just Flight or the Horizon Gen-X series (would have to be v2 as I wan to fly at night as well).So basically I'm asking what would be best way forward with out spending too much. The types of A/C that would intrest me most are light A/C an possibly a classic mil jet like a JP or Hunter.Appreciate any pointers as there is so much out there (all the more confusing as most titles appear to be for FSX now)Thanks.
