  1. Hi! I got a new PC with Windows 7 and Directx 11 and installed my dear FS9. I read somewhere that Directx 11 isn't compatible with FS9, but I ran it and it actually works, but with poor perormance. So can anyone tip me what to do? Is it possible to change back to Directx 9, and, if so, how to do that. And is Windows 7 compatible with Directx 9? I'd be very grateful for tips.... Hans Hermansson Sweden
  2. Hi! I use Bkueprint Sinulations KEWR Newark and have modified the scenery á little. I checked everything; gates, parkings, taxiways etc. but akk my planes refuse to taxi to gate; they land and moments later: pop they just disappear. I am sure there is nothing wrong with my AFCAD, so I don't understand what is wrong. Can anyone help? If so, grateful. Hans Hermansson Sweden
  3. Hi again! and thanks for tips; they sound relevant. I'll check my task manager and antivirus settings. Hansinsweden
  4. Hi! I get intermittent jerky movements in my FS2004, especially around dense areas/airports. Good FPS and a clear image, but short, inetmittent jerks; my AI planes stop for a fraction of a second now and then. So, what could I do to correct it? Set max FPS in the sim, or check some settings? Grateful for help. Thanks! Hans Hermansson Sweden
  5. Hi Mel! and thanks for reply. I'll of course try your suggestions. Thanks again! Hansinsweden
  6. Hi! I have a new problem with some specific airports with blurred textures. So, KLAX and KMIA sometimes give me blurred textures, out of nowhere. I have checked my Videocard settings, the FS9 config, etc. and , as far as I have seen, all other airports have normal, sharp images. So, what can be the problem? Is it the default aerial photos for the airports, or something else? It is very mysterious. Grateful for any help. Thanks. Hans Hermansson Sweden
  7. Hi again Martin and Joe! and thans for tips. It seems to be specifically KLAX where the blurred textures emerge. I have removed all addon sceneries from KLAX and made my own ADE9 afcad file, but the blurries tend to show up anyway. Strange! No clue as to what could be wrong,,,,,,,, Hans in Sweden
  8. Hello Martin! and thanks for reply. I think you may be right, because this problem showed itself specifically at KLAX, so I'll disable my addon KLAX and see what happens. Thanks again! Hans in Sweden
  9. Hi! I have a problem with my FS9 textures and as I don't know if it is a video card or sim problem i post this in both this and the hardware forum. When I start at an airport I get normal texture images, but it pops into blurred repeatedly and I have to refresh scenery. I checked my setup and the NVIDIA Inspector, but settings seem OK. I have a Gigabyte NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 650 Ti card and the PC is absolutely adequate; Intel 3.4 GHZ, enough memory, etc. I am sure it must be a setting somewhere which causes this. Any idea how to fix this problem? Grateful for any tips. Thanks! Hans Hermansson Sweden

  11. Hi! I was very annoyed and surprised that, today, I just couldn't go to TXKF Bermuda in my FS2004. Windows reported "error" and the task manager said error. I have no idea what has happened; this never happened before. I haven't changed anything in my sim. Garetful for help. Thanks. Hans Hermansson Sweden
  12. Hi again guys! and thanks for your replies and your time; really appreciated. Of course I'll try what you recommend and suggest. Thanks again! Hans Hermansson Sweden
  13. Hi! and thanks for reply. Checked Alphatextures?? How do I do that? Hans Hermansson Sweden
  14. Hi again! I recently upgraded my PC with a new video card (Gigabyte Geforce GTX 650Ti), which is very good. But, I get stutters in my FS2004; just instantaneous, a little jerky stutters when I use AI traffic and follow the AI planes around airports. It feels that something is putting a brake on the sim now and then. I checked all settings; in the sim and used the Nvidia Inspector for settings. So, does anyone know what could cause the stutters; like antivirus, etc.? I also use the FS Autostart to uncheck unnecessary service functions. I use Windows XP Home Edition with a good hardware setup; Intel 3.4 gHz, 3 gig RAM. I would appreciate tips and advice.
  15. Hello all! and thanks for your replies. It could possibly be an antialiasing problem. I don't use it at all as of now, so I'll change those settings and try again. Thanks again! Hansinsweden
  16. Hi again! I hope I'm not too annoying by being persistent about my FS2004 texture problems. And I don't know if this should go here or in the hardware/graphics card section, so I'll enter both. My FS2004 runs generally well with my new Gigabyte Geforce GTX 650Ti card, but I can't seem to get rid of some sort of floating horizontal "watery" effect of the scenery; especially airports. Does this have to do with DXT settings, settings in the FS9.cfg file or to do with the video card? It is an ever so small detail effect sideways which creates the idea that the scenery is ever so slightly moving sideways. I thought I'd enclose a short video file about this, but I don't think it would be visible, the effect is so small. I use the Nvidia Inspector, which is very good and I have checked virtually every setting there and in the sim. I think the problem could be easily solved; I just haven't figured it out yet. Garteful for more help. Thanks again. Hans Hermansson Sweden

  18. Hi again! I recently installed a new video card with my FS2004 sim and had lots of good advice from your forum about card settings, etc. So far so good. But, I get some jerky motion when panning using the joystick and even jerks as AI planes taxi at airports, etc. So, something isn't right. Can I change something in the FS9.cfg to make it run smoother? Performance with my new card is really good and some issues corrected, so I don't think it has to do with the video card. Grateful for help and tips (again) Thanks! Hans Hermansson Sweden
  19. Hej Arvid! och tack för svar. Jag kan ladda upp ett screenshot, men jag tror inte det framgår hur det skimrar och liksom flimrar, eftersom det bara syns i rörliga bilder. Tack i alla fall! Hans
  20. Hi! I just changed my video card to a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 650Ti, which seems a very good card to run my FS2004. However, I get a sort of shimmering effect of the scenery/ground/buildings, etc. which I can't seem to get rid of. I tried a variety of video card settings, but the shimmering, water-floating effect remains. I don't recall any such visual effect with my previous cards, and my sim settings are the same as I used before I changed cards. I don't know where this entry should go, so I put it in both the FS2004 and Harware forums. Could anyone help or give advice? If so, that would be great. Thanks. Hans Hermansson Sweden

  22. Hi again! and thanks for advice. Got your latest replies and I think I found a good alternative video card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 650TI, which I ordered today. Seems pretty much in line with your views. So, let's hope I get a little better performance. Thanks again! Hansinsweden
  23. Hello again! and thanks for reply. I just read another thread in this forum about someone who had just bought the same type video card I just ordered (bought) a Geforce GTX 650, and the person was obviously very happy with with regard to image quality. That's just what I wanted and hoped for, too. Thanks again! Hansinsweden
  24. Hi again! I recently bought a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7750 for my PC and FS2004. But I am not quite satisfied with it; performance is average in my opinion. So, could anyone give me tips about a possibly better card performancewise in a $125 to $200 price range? My setup: Intel 3,4 GHZ, 4GB RAM, ASUS Motherboard PCIExpress. Grateful for tips. Thanks! Hans Hermansson Sweden
