Will OpusFSI match or surpass ASN?
frosty777 - I must have misunderstood. I thought that this was a discussion, not a request for support? Poppet - No support needed, That was more of a challenge to others to find any one program that matches the added features of OpusFSI. It was also my way of pointing out that not everyone thinks that ASN is the greatest, and that Opus is trash. OpusFSI combined with the cloud Improvements in Prepar3d suits me just fine. Having a triple screen setup (not counting the two 9" screens for instruments, and a GPS screen) I find OpusFSI VERY useful. I also have a ButtKicker Gamer 2 system mounted to me chair, with an added transducer screwed to the underside of a heavy computer table. Without the added control that's built into OpusFSX/FSI I wouldn't recommend the ButtKicker for either FSX or P3d. I did download ASN just to try it out, and one of those questions was quite real; Question - Do you have to file a flight plan just to cruse around and get real weather? Both versions of Opus detects where you are and changes the weather from where you were to where you will be. No plan needed. Also, unless I was doing something wrong with ASN, the weather outside my house didn't look very much like it did with ASN. OpusFSI matched It almost exactly.

Will OpusFSI match or surpass ASN?
I have a bit of confusion here. Hopefully someone can help. First my system: i5-2500K @ standard speed - 3.3GHZ 16GB DDR3 RAM 3 drives - OS on a 256GB SSD, 1TB standard hard drive with 64MB cache, and another 256GB SSD for Prepar3d. Video card - R9 280X PCIE GDDR5 3GB, with three 22" monitors. OpusFSI for weather All of the major Orbx/FTX scenery, with most of the sliders, in P3d, all the way to the right & the eye candy like scenery shadows/reflections checked. So this isn't a high end gaming system. Good, but not great. A few questions: 1) I've had absolutely no cloud "popping" with this video card. Question - Do most of you have Nvidia? 2) I downloaded the Active Sky Next P3d demo and tried to setup the Hurricane Sandy weather for Dix Field (0NJ6) New Jersey on October 29, 2012. No luck finding a hurricane there. Question - Do you have to file a flight plan just to cruse around and get real weather? 3) I'm assuming that most of you aren't using multiple monitors? That's one of the features in the OpusFS series that I find indispensable. Question - If you do have multiple monitors, what do you use in place of Opus Live View to synchronize multiple screen displays? 4) I'm sure that many people don't need, or even want, to add custom camera views to their sim. Question - Is there a good replacement to the OpusFS Live Camera? 5) I bought a ButtKicker Gamer2 over a year ago and was very unsatisfied with the effects in FSX/P3d. It was GREAT with music and videos, but otherwise unimpressive. Question - OpusFS will let you custom control up to 3 ButtKickers (I'm using 2 now). Is there an alternative to the OpusFSI/FSX ButtKicker control?

Sorry, I forgot to state my question;"My problem is that I can't seem to find just where my hardware/tips/recommendations should go."My quandary (referring to the above question) is that the solutions I’ve worked out are not, exclusively, hardware or software but interdependent;"The hardware that I would recommend is entirely based on my tips & tricks, software/drivers (freeware & payware)."I had seen the "Hardware Controllers & Drivers" section but it looked liked it was mostly for posting problems/complaints.I was going to post in "Tips and Tricks", but it seems to be a dead end, and reminds me of the myth about the patent office closing in the 1800's because everything of significance had already been invented - "What "Tips and Tricks" is not however is a place for extended discussions, ....", and - "That is why all of the "working tips and tricks" are Locked of course, since there's no longer a need to change them ...."“Reader's Product Reviews” states that it is ONLY for commercial products, and my reviews would intermingle commercial software & freeware with hardware.Had I known that this was the place for posting tips, tricks, hardware, commercial software, & freeware info I would have used the title "Easy flight gear modifications for beginners."Thank you for your attention.

As you can see, I'm fairly new to flight sims & AVSIM.This is NOT a "look how cool my system is".My problem is that I can't seem to find just where my hardware/tips/recommendations should go.The hardware that I would recommend is entirely based on my tips & tricks, software/drivers (freeware & payware).I use the Radio Panel concentric knobs to control the on-screen GPS-500 knobs. The Switch Panel has been reprogrammed to function properly. The CH Yoke switches perform multiple actions such as starting individual engines, control certain actions of the G13 keypad, & my TrackIR.The hardware & FSX is all tied together with SPAD, FSUIPC, HIDMacros, third party software, and sometimes even the original hardware programs. NOTHING is complicated, but some of it is not obvious. If you look up my review on Amazon under SameOldStory for the Saitek PRO Flight Radio Panel (12/17/11) & the last picture from my Amazon review of the Pro Flight Instrument Panel (12/11/11) you can get an idea of what I'd like to offer to other newbies. Sorry, but this was my best guess as to a place to put my question. Trying to do a search for Radio, Switch panels, GPS control, SPAD, FSUIPC, HIDMacros, etc was useless.

CH yoke - no input after PC wakes from standby
That looks interesting, jahman. I've saved the url for later though.I use "CH Control Manager", though. I keep the icon in a desktop "Fences" folder. Just do the following; run "CH Control Manager" Click on "Test/Calibrate" Click on "Rescan" Done.
