Thanks for the above. Seems the LG C2 tv has a refresh rate of 120, should I be looking for a tv with a higher refresh rate to run msfs at 4K? Or is the 120 good for msfs?

That’s not true at all. Not sure your situation and if you can flight train full time or have to work full time and do this on the side. If you can take the cut in pay it would take 12-18 months to get from zero time to your flight instructor license. This is all dependent on how much time you can put in each week. If you could do 4/5 lessons a week is ideal. If you do one a week every lesson you would be spending over half the time relearning from the lesson previous, which in return will take you longer to get your license. After that it would take a year of time building either by fight instructor or other options to get enough time to get on with a regional. Not sure what your career goals would be but I say this is all possible within 5 years. That gives your 15 years at an airline. Plenty of time to enjoy a career and upgrade to captain. Just depends your situation and what you want to accomplish. I would strongly suggest getting your medical first to see if you can even obtain a first class medical. Then get your private pilot license to make sure you even like this. If then you decide you want to go for it then dive full in and don’t let anyone discourage you. If you let other people decide your fate you will never get where you want to be.

No excess cash but I really don’t fully know all computers and what’s best. Right now I am cpu limited. So was just curious if the 12th generations would eliminate that.

Curious on if the results will be that much greater for a 3090 compared to a 3080ti card. Right now my system has a 2080, nothing fancy. Just curious if there is a need for that much vram compared to what the 3080ti can be. Not a computer expert at all but if I am spening $1,000+ for 3080ti and can get a 3090 for $1,700 I dont want to be foolish but if the gains are so minimal I would go with the 3080ti. Thanks!

Do any of you have a stand alone tiller for the sim, not just a twist axis on a current controller?

I have both. Honeycomb is by far better with more options if you include throttle and yoke. The TCA is pure convenient since I put my flight sim controllers away after each flight. Both are good for their use, you won’t go wrong with either one. Just more of a preference and your taste.

Everything worked fine for me out of the box. Used msfs interface to configure everything. best flight controls I have had hands down.

Ok well I am not going to wait since I want to build my current pc, will buy the 3080 card eventually when it comes out with higher memory. Question is which of these two cards would be the best, yes I want to run it on a 43 4K tv but I am not paying 2080ti prices right now, will wait a few months for the 3080 card. 1080ti or 2070 Super Most bench marks have them pretty equal, just the 1080ti has the 11GB vs 8GB. Will that make a differences the 3GB difference. Again when I get the 3080 card I will transfer this card to my sons computer, he plays mostly COD. Thanks!

Is there any idea of when the higher vram 3080 would be available. Or the availbility of 3080 and 3090 in general when we could see restocking of them.

I want to run flight sim on 4K. I have a 43” tv for that. For that to happen it might be a 3080 or 3090 card. my son plays cal of duty and really don’t think he is looking for 4K. I will wait to the higher memory 3080 comes out or there is availability for the 3090. Just trying to finish building my pc just need a graphics card to complete it.

Building a brand new system right now I will put a 3090 card in there eventually after the prices stabilize. Was thinking of getting a 3080 but not sure the price and availability right now when it’s released which I think is today. what options is the best to put one in now when I get the 3090 I will take this graphics card and put it in my sons gaming computer. any ideas or am I better waiting a few more weeks to see how prices and availability shake out.

If I go with the Corsair Icue H100i Pro, would I better off going with the platium series? Unfortunately the platinum series doesn't come in the 360mm radiator size. Price is all relative, I want the best for the money for future proofing, thanks!
