I edited my post to reflect it and stand by that you should not connect in air, at least in controlled airspace. Edit: disconnect / reconnect Is a different problem entirely. It is not the norm and you are presumably flying with a flight plan and proper squawk code, unless flying vfr which is not likely given that it is a 777.

You shouldn't connect in the air. You can ask for acceleration.

You allow this information to hype yourself up. These are updates for those that care -- if you don't or are getting irritated then log off, come back in about a week, and see if you're surprised. No one is forcing you to check these forums to the point of aggravation. Seriously. It's not worth it. You can't control if they release it or not. Everyone should just relax.

They are charging whatever they charge because they're a business. A business is a business because they have a goal to make money and generate profit. They are free to do what they'd like much like you are free to choose to buy it or not. Everyone should remember that this money goes to a small development team. It puts food on the table, diapers on the kids, etc. God forbid they make some money that lets them do a bit more than scrape by. I have less of a problem paying a premium to a boutique development team than what I pay to a faceless multinational corporation that has billions in the bank for other software. But that's just me.

Are you sure that the SOPs you're referring to are for the T7 and not earlier Boeings? Why would you disable A/T, that removes your protection for under speed situations and gives you no advantage over manual control of your throttles.
