Activation Troubles
I've purchased the 777 two days ago and am still unable to activate it. I have sent a ticket to PMDG to which they replied that it was a firewall issue having to do with port 8888. Since then, I have uninstalled mcafee from my computer, tried the port forwarding for my router, taken my tower to a friends house and tried to figure it out in windows firewall, all without any success. I have sent a reply back to PMDG stating I have done all this but havent' received a reply thus far. Anybody have any suggestions for me? Maybe I'm doing the port forwarding or something wrong, but I've googled it to death. Frustrated. should also state I have called my ISP and they state that they have nothing to do with blocking ports or anything like that and just directed me to do a port forwarding.

Need some help with Activation
I know some users experienced an issue with activating their 777. I am also getting the message "unable to connect to activation server". I've tried just about everything, forwarding the port 8888, taking my tower to a friends house and using his internet, even uninstalling my antivirus, turning off windows firewall. Anyone have any suggestions about how I could get around this. I've already sent a ticket to PMDG and received a response telling to try the above. I've since sent them back a reply stating I have tried all that with no luck. I am not totally sure I am forwarding or opening port 8888 properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Activation Issue - Please help me
I have just purchased the 777 and I am getting the message "unable to connect to activation server". I know through searching the forum that a few people have had the same issue and resolved it, but never said how. I have submitted a ticket and received a canned response about forwarding port 8888 and checking to make sure that the firewall is allowing the activation server through and I have tried them, to the best of my ability as I am not very computer literate when it comes to that stuff. Just hoping someone who knows a bit more could help me or someone who had this issue could tell me how to resolve it. Thanks.

Sensitivity sliders in FSX for NGX
I believe FSUIPC would be your best bet when calibrating your controls. You will need to have the registered version of FSUIPC to do this. I've also tried using the sensitivity settings within FSX and I either have a result like yours or my yoke goes full left or right, but the NGX's doesn't.

Split PFD/ND
I did'nt think there was anyone else doing it. I knew southwest used them, but also noticed in later pictures and videos that they have moved on from that. I know the reasoning behind using the EFIS/MAP setup and all, but it sure did seem quite "busy", especially the engine display compared to the standard PFD/ND.

Split PFD/ND
Anyone know off by hand any airlines that are currently using the Split PFD/ND displays? I only know of United right now. I'm looking to do more flights with this setup and would like to keep it realistic if possible. Thanks in advance for any input.

firewall them, fly it like you stole it.

ARPT on MFD
yeah, I figured I was looking too far into the RW thing with that one. These little things seem to just be pilot preference.

ARPT on MFD
I'm finding that when flying into larger centers, whenever I increase the range on my MFD, my screen becomes nothing but a blue shade of airports and I get an "excess data" message. Is there a way to set the aircraft to only show certain airports ie. by runway length, etc. If not, how do they do they resolve this in real world? Do they just turn off the ARPT view or keep range low? Just wondering. Thanks.

Question for Developers
Thanks for the reply Robert. In no way did I mean to insult PMDG or to imply that you were falling behind other developers in anyway. I always felt that with each new product you deliver, you once again set a new bar for FSX development. Since I do think your at the top of the FSX market, my OP was just meant to ask what you guys thought of it, and not a "Why aren't you doing it" kind of thing. Once again, I apologize if anyone at PMDG took any offence to it. Thanks guys

Question for Developers
Wasn't sure if Majestic were the first to do this or not, so I just said "releases" to cover any other product that may have done it.

Question for Developers
This is mainly directed at Ryan, Robert, etc, but welcome all to chime in with opinions. Without naming names, I was wondering what PMDGs stance was on developing products that include an independent FDE (flight dynamics engine) like in other recent releases. I, personally, have come to like it, but just wondering if PMDG have any plans to look at this in future developments. Thanks. Just seen there was another post about this already, should have looked before posting, my apologies.

A little something I found
Hey all, in my search for the Westjet RNP approach charts, I came across a great website that you can use to view/download charts. The site is fltplan.com and it is completely free. It is a real world flight planning website and it contains all charts for US/Canada. All charts are current and kept current. The charts are from the FAA and NavCanada without the "NOT FOR REAL WORLD USE" message on them. The site does require that you register a username and password, but does not require an email address. **HINT** It is a 3 step registration, however, you can skip steps 2 and 3 which will ask for personal information and aircraft data respectively and have instant access to the site. Once in the site, use the menu on the left and look for "Charts and Maps" and away you go. If you are looking for the the Westjet RNP approaches, you will find them under "Restricted Canada Air Pilot Charts" at the bottom of the chart listing for a given airport, ie. CYLW Just wanted to pass this along for anyone that was interested. Just realized that this was probably better suited for the General Forum. My apologies.

Flashing LCD's
Just a video illusion was the last thing I would have thought it was. Learn something everyday. Thanks.

Flashing LCD's
Hi all, tried googling this with no success, after watching numerous real world 737 videos (not only 737's do this) I've noticed, particularly on takeoff and landing that the LCDS tend to be flashing as if shorting out. I was wondering if anyone knew the cause or reason for this. Just curious is all.
