  1. Yes but I wouldn't be suprised if they did it themselves and released it under an alias other than their company name... Would be beneficial to them. They get to develop for Flight. Fair enough we might be able to bypass the content limitations but someone actually needs to develop the content lol. I wonder if the FSX Globe was imported, then that scenary would still benefit from the flight engine
  2. Im suprised the 3rd Party developers and most users with the technical skills haven't attempted to get past Flights security. If a program could be compiled to allow importation of aircraft from fsx into flight easily, along with global scenery, I guarantee 99% people here would start using flight. Wow, imagine loosing the restriction of Microsoft's proprietary DLC... We could even start importing ORBX, REX and other textures/addons if we wanted... If people can invent the jailbreak for iPhone's and hack into NASA, im sure we could come up with something for flight... Its just that its a niche market so there's not a huge push for hackers to do anything about it.Well done to Sako75 for attempting to make progress ;)
  3. AeroflyFS looks to be a good foundation for a solid future for Flight Simming... Honestly in terms of both business and as Aviation enthusiasts the developers of it would be absurd to not integrate currently missing features such as night and seasons and rest of the world but since 3rd party development is supported it is easily expandable... Im suprised lots of FSX devs havent jumped on AeroflyFS yet as it seems to be our only hope (Flight has a 'small chance for being turnt into a sim) of pushing the Flight Simulation genre foward... You can sit there all you Like and say FSX or even FS9 fulfills your needs but the genre needs to evolve. Where is your desire for innovation for heavens sake, if all of us thought like that we would still be stuck with the ball point pen. Im getting tired of being stuck in this age of horrendously optimised code. Aerofly FS looks like an amazing fresh start. If it garners enough support then it is almost a guaranteed successBy the way is it possible for 3rd party devs to add the rest of the world with the SDK provided by Aerofly or is it up to them?
  4. I understand all of the arguments of many functions that are probably going to be stripped from flight. Its a step foward in some aspects although I dont think we'll see these chages (Graphical + Performace) in a fully featured simulator unless flight becomes a success with its target market (MOSTLY, not us) If flight is a big financial success the bigwigs at Microsoft will sure allow a bigger Budget for development of any future sims but again this is all dependant on flights success. Developers are entitles to develop products for the Flight Store its just that they were not happy with the Cut MS was taking out of the downloads. The massive exposure could have actually benefited them though regardless of the smaller profit margins but it is a bit of a gamble for them to be honest. Flight itself isn't a godsend, It POTENTIALLY could be our gateway to the future of Flight Sim but for the foreseeing future we will have to stick with FSX/FS9 and give flight our moral support and not bash it which is hard to do considering the way we have been treated by Microsoft lol
  5. A lot of people on here are kicking up a Fuss over flight and refusing to try it... ITS FREE FOR GODS SAKE?In the long run exposing the flight sim world to newer people may be better as gaining exposure to Flight will inevitably make newcomers want more once they get into it. If all goes well flight may well evolve into the sim we have all been hoping for... However trying to kill off the game will NOT make Microsoft think "Hey, Maybe we should revive the Flight Sim series" it will lead them to give up on the genre for good. I just see so many users hating flight with a passion and making lame jokesI reckon flight is the gateway to a new generation. Trying to pick up a new fanbase before turning back to what we wanted.
