Looks stunning, could easily mistake it for being real life footage.

Looks very nice, i wonder what potential it will have........could it be the way forward?

Oh yeah - I remember seeing that. I remember thinking that was one of the better looking "girl pilot" models I've seen... ;)In reading about it, though, I see it's really limited. Good start, though.

Yeah, it seems you are limited to Switzerland for now and theres no airliners, i wonder where there gonna go from there?

Hmm, I dunno:- No SDK, no 3rd party developers- Availability of IFR flight utilising navaids not clear- Only Switzerland included, with no announced plans for extra scenery- No Vatsim/IVAO integration- No Airliners- No AI- No ATC- It has 'challenges' where you earn 'trophies'- You can control it using a USB gamepad!Ok, the list above was tongue in cheek, but it seems that Aerofly offers roughly the same features as Flight with the main differences being the visuals and possibly the accuracy of the flight model (having tried neither I can't judge). Perhaps the real difference is the mindset with which people are judging the two programs? Aerofly FS is no more FS XI than Flight is.That said Aerofly FS does indeed look amazing and I wouldn't be surprised to find that the flight dynamics are more accurate than those of Flight (or FSX for that matter). Still a long way from replacing FSX for me, but looks pretty good for the VFR low & slow fans (as long as you don't mind being restricted to Switzerland).A final thought, 2 DVDs are required just for Switzerland. What would they have to ship the program on if you wanted the whole world, several external hard drives blum.gif ?

Get ORBX NZSI. It's just as good with a better platform. Also, Switzerland is available for FSX. Pricey, but amazing photo scenery.BTW, stop looking for an alternative to FSX, there isn't one that even comes close.

I suppose, MSFS had three decades worth of code to get all that you mention. X-plane too has been around long enough to be a pretty advanced simulator, but improves on the code with each version. This is a new platform (albeit based out of their Aerofly RC software) so I think it's a very good start. New flight simulators don't come around very often so it's nice to see one being developed and show some promise. I like what I see so far.Rhydian

+1, and after reading RSR'S post in the pmdg forum today, i'll be staying with FSX for a while yet.

In the mean time I've elaborated the depicted frame rate test into a complete clip ;)

Cheers, Andreas
Wow, I missed that clip. It freakin amazing !!! I know Aerofly isn't perfect design but its a step in the right direction, at least in visuals technology.FLIGHT is many steps in the wrong direction.
??? Imho Aerofly is very similar to Flight, only a lot more limited in the sim part...! I don't understand how you can call Aerofly a step in the right direction when Flight is offering the same but with more (sim) functionality...

I expect to get Aerofly within the next few days and I did use the Aerofly RC sims for years. The visuals were already breathtaking years ago..The flight modelling is very good and if Aerofly FS is the same it will offer an extremely immersive flying experience.AFAIK there were quite a few 3rd party developers for Aerofly RC, planes and scenery. If it really delivers, the feel of flying and the immersion will be far better than FSX or x-plane if you just enjoy the 'flying' part of a sim.Simple traffic patterns, VFR flying, soaring & aerobatics all that might be really a great experience.
