  1. Stellar job Traffic 360, stellar job. How utterly ridiculous is this nonsense right here? I don't know whether to laugh or toss my keyboard out the window.
  2. It's a GTX 680 with 2GB VRAM. http://www.digitalstormonline.com/compload550d.asp?id=676462&price=%242%2C670
  3. I'm not running ManhattanX or KJFK. I typically fly smaller commercial (A319 - 757), and never really saw the point of purchasing specific airport or city additions if I'm only going to spend between 5-10 minutes in and around them. I am running REX, GEX with UT, and a few other terrains (FTX Oz). I haven't touched the config. The CPU is a i7 Extreme Edition 3970X that's OC'd to 4.6Ghz. DS did the overclocking.
  4. I am running Ultimate Terrain X, North America and Europe as well as a few FTX terrain addons. And payware aircraft abound in my copy of FSX.
  5. I've typically always built my own PC and or upgraded it myself. However, with my current active duty military status, I found actually getting around to doing it problematic. About a month back I came to the conclusion that I'd simply buy a gaming rig, and after looking at the various system builders (FNW, Origin, Alienware, etc) I finally settled on one from Digital Storm. It showed up last week and I have to say, its destroyed every game I've thrown at it thus far. That said, FSX was going to be the real test. It's system intensive, it eats memory and CPU cycles for dinner, and spits them back out. I'm more than pleased with the performance... enthralled actually. Right now I'm running it with everything maxed and I mean everything, which includeds REX E+O. So, if you're in the market for a new box, don't want to or simply don't have the time to do it yourself, then have a look at DS. Benchmarks and settings.
  6. I'm just glad you guys are looking at revamping the interface.
  7. So I spent the past 15 minutes creating this in Photoshop. Just a very quick example of a streamlined and intuitive GUI, and what FSC could look like. Minimal fields, concise data (as opposed to a overload of it), easily navigable, and of course visually appealing. Obviously there are options I placed in their that don't exist, but aspects I'd certainly like to see nonetheless. This is one of the core reasons I'm being drawn to the REX airline simulation addon. If the FSC devs are still reading this topic, I hope they'll consider revamping their interface.
  8. I've been toying around with the demo for the past 30 minutes of so. It's not quite as user friendly as Passengers, learning curve wise that is. With FSP I was easily able to simply drop in and go with almost zero reference to any documentation. However, I'm sure with a little determination and instruction reading it can be done. ^_^ If I could make one suggestion (not like it matters) - The GUI in Captain, like that in Passengers, has a rather antiquated look to it. While shifting over the tabs, I couldn't help but feel like I was looking at something from the Win98 UI. It's rather off putting and isn't aesthetically pleasing in the least... which is one of the reasons I uninstalled FSP pretty quickly. A revamp with a more intuitive GUI featuring scrollable options, drop down boxes, and the like would have garnered a purchase from me immediately. As it stands now, I'll likely be waiting for SimAir from REX even though I am impressed with what FSCaptain is capable of.
  9. Many thanks for the excellent advice gents, I really appreciate it. That said, I have looked at FSCaptain and will certainly consider it. The REX addon posted above really has peaked my interest though, so thanks for the link as I was unaware of its development. Still, looks like it has a way to go until it nears a release.
  10. Long story short, I downloaded the demo and gave it a try. The current I have is December 2008. Is the software still being developed upon and updated? I'd like to know prior to spending the money on it?
  11. I recall the site in question was solely dedicated to the Embraer 175/195, but its been quite a long time since I downloaded it. Honestly though, it doesn't help that they have several websites under the FeelThere domain. Still, shouldn't there be a login option? And I did maintain a backup but my external HDD was destroyed in Afghanistan.
  12. I purchased the Embraer 175/195 some time back, and have recently restored my PC. I've been looking for the site login over at FeelThere so I can re-download and install the product, however, I can't seem to find it. I'd appreciate some help.
  13. No worries. I'm glad it helped. Ensure you have the DX RTE directed at the FSX directory.
  14. Reinstalled FSX on my system back in February and experienced nothing but CTD's, usually within 15-25 minutes following take-off. I even posted here looking for help - http://forum.avsim.n...-use-some-help/ As you can see, nothing seemed to have worked, that includes the dll I downloaded (against my better judgement I might add) and I eventually paid the price for that. I'm pretty PC literate, and I know damned well pulling dll files off the net is a terrible idea as they are typically loaded with a virus, this one was FYI. Long story shot, lengthy reformat process and OS install and I decided to give FSX one more try. Exact same CTD events on both my gaming laptop and desktop. It dawned on me that while the current DirectX 11 drivers/software on Win7 are backwards compatible, FSX is not forwards compatible so to speak. That means that FSX is running in a native RTE associated with DX11, a RTE it was not designed to run on. I downloaded the DX 9.0c redistributable and installed it. At present, I've flown five medium to long distance flights, and I haven't had a single CTD since. Now, the drivers for 9.0c are different than that of DX 11, and it will not install over and or corrupt the default Windows 7 DirectX 11 installation. I consider giving this a try before utilizing that horrendous option of downloading a dll. Extract the file to a new/empty folder on your desktop and utilize the installer. http://download.cnet...4-10305889.html Do not use the official Microsoft page, it'll simply direct you to the DX11 download as DX 9 is no longer supported as a driver based GPU application.
  15. Numerous attempts to resolve this issue haven't succeeded. At this point, FSX is just taking up space and I'll most likely uninstall it. I appreciate the help nonetheless, gents.
  16. The fact remains that FSX wasn't designed to run in Win7/64's native run-time environment. Contrary to what most people believe, the are major differences between Win7 and the primary OS platform it was designed to run on, that being Vista. Furthermore, I think it's important to point out that that specific dll can fail/cease to run after 20 mouse clicks. It has something to do with rsp usage in-which FSX ceases to utilize it and returns to its initial RTE. Just food for thought.
  17. Thanks gents, I'll look into the other dll files. I do wonder though, if perhaps having it installed in the x86 directory has anything to do with it...
  18. I've already downloaded that specific dll and have placed it in the FSX directory. The last error report lists the UIautomationcore.dll at the very bottom. If it has to be replaced, how do you determine which one it is? It's my understanding, that the specific dll in question is just a Vista 32x dll and if thats the case, there can't be that many versions.
  19. Hoping you guys can help me out here. I'm getting a lot of CTD's while flying. Typically they occur within 15-25 minutes following takeoff and at present, I have no idea as to the cause.FSX ver. - FSX Gold EditionOS - Win7 64 bitInstall Location - Program Files (x86)Here are a few event logs.
