  1. The ATC interface in P3D is absolutley terrible, no doubt about it. I understand it (OOM's etc) to be related to bringing up the ATC window, how it shifts between the 3D application to the menu interface, and basically dumps the buffer. That said, is LM actually working on fixing this problem? The reason I ask is becasue the last time I checked, it was still an an issue as of August of last year.

    Rising Stom

EDIT - Title should read Rising Storm. If anyone out there was or is a RO2 player and hasn't picked up RS, then I'd highly suggest it. Great fun. A few screens by myself.
  3. A multiplayer flight from EGFF (Cardiff) to EGCK (Caernarfon) in the newly released Majestic Dash-8 Q400. Not the best, but we got it down in some terrible weather. Hmm... the link isn't showing.
  4. No worries - http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/58272-dangerous-airports/
  5. There is no such thing as a standard departure (NADP) at any airport in Afghanistan or previously Iraq. The decisions made for the aircraft in question, whatever it may be, are not determined by ATC or the PFL. How a aircraft departs a combat zone like Bagram, Kandahar, and the like, are made by the RCC or Regional Command Center (ex. RC-South), CSTC-A, and the JCTOC. The type of takeoffs change on a hourly basis depending upon threat catagory in the AOR. And yes, it is used for 747 take-offs. It is infact utilized for a great deal of takeoffs by non-military avaition assets in combat zones. I departed Iraq in 2010 on a 777 (World Airways) from Al Asad Airbase, in which the aircraft conducted a combat-takeoff. Just FYI.
  6. That pitch up is normal. It's called a combat take-off for a reason. I highly doubt sabotage, and I'm guessing a severe CoG shift due to the loadmaster not doing his ######ing job. There were MRAP's on that aircraft, and they typically weigh in excess of around 30,000 pounds, depending on the manufacturer. If the braces and tie-downs on the roller pallets came loose, your looking at extreme shifts in weight balance fore, aft, or along one of the bulkheads.
  7. AXE all the way, IMHO. It might not have the extensive system simulation some crave, it makes compromises here and there. It still has one of the best cockpits around and the overall visual fidelity is bar none supreme.
  8. Still getting used to it as well. I don't know about you, but it seems to be missing some much needed layers throughout...
  9. Looks great! Rich, if you're interested, I'm willing to turn my project over to someone that wants to take a stab at it. I simply don't have the time to complete it.
  10. Cheers mate. Compiled a list of dangerous airports in Canada and the States via Google Earth. Working through said list now. I have to say this first one had my butt puckered as the approach is terrible along with the inclement weather Revelstoke, Canada.
  11. I appreciate the post and all, but am I the only one that thinks having to purchase another piece of software to get a existing piece of software to function properly is absurd? Honestly, I can forgive the terrible UI in all it's horrendousness, but having jacked up and or unresponsive control surfaces, ones that are supported according to the manual and settings tabs, simply ridiculous. I really hope we see some major improvements in the sim. My copy is just gathering digital dust.
  12. Well, after experiencing this - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/404770-considering-a-move/page-2 I was able to localize the issue. P3D works flawlessly on my system (sorta), but it seems that once I had completed a flight or was simply messing around, I'd hit the escape key. That would cause the sim to crash. Why it did and continues to do this I have no idea whatsoever, however, I can live with using the menu bar to exit, it's not a big deal just rather frustrating. One issue remains though. For the life of me, I can get P3D recognize my slider/throttle on my stick. Any ideas on this aspect?
  13. No idea why the thread was deleted either. Odd, there were a lot of good reference pics in it.
  14. Short hop from Canberra to Coffs Harbour.
  15. I don't know about you guys, but I'd like a few more external camera views. Maybe I'm just spoiled by AXE...
  16. Yep, that's Majestic's Dash 8-Q400. I'm lovin' this aircraft.
