  1. FYI - John posted a update to the A321 with screens. http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/84615-100-accurate-american-repaint/?p=610895
  2. Came across a article where a 320 was being painting at the Pittsburgh Fac. Gonna have to find it. Or it could be that I misread it. Meh, TBI's from IED's will do that ya...
  3. Most of the aircraft are being painted as we speak. Though the scheduling for repainting them is unknown. Either way, they'll get to them eventually.
  4. Did you change the stenciling over the entire fuselage? That's one of the things that has to be done.
  5. As previously stated, The model is low-polygon. It just is, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Having a 2K or 4K paint-kit isn't going to do much for the visual fidelity the aircraft overall. However, I'm more than willing to take a look at it Vital.
  6. It does look like the upcoming 318/319 features a higher polygon/tri model and a higher res paintkit. Of course that doesn't help with the existing Aerosoft 320/321, but its a step in the right direction. Future plans: 1.) John is currently working on the CFM, IAE and NEO versions of the A321. 2.) I'm moving toward completing the A320 Neo Retrofit and the A320 IAE version. Stay tuned for more updates.
  7. I didn't say altering the paint-kit to a 4K res was impossible. Simply that Aerosoft refuses to create one. And trust me, I'm well aware of what it would require to create one. Someone in the 318/319 thread asked about this and I basically replied in the same manner you did. A project like that would take a extreme amount of dedication and given my military career, responsibilities and continued deployments to Afghanistan, I simply don't have the free time to invest in a project like that. Another issue to consider is the AXE model. Not sure if you're aware, but its pretty low-poly in comparison to other addons out there. So I'm not sure its really worth it. The Fleet is growing...
  8. Appreciated. Look on the positive side. At least they didn't issue a Cease and Desist and threaten legal action. Some have done that in the past.
  9. Release - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/446631-my-liveries/?p=3077823 Expect paint updates once Mike returns to work.
  10. Expect a release no later than Friday. However, we're trying to get it out the door sooner than that. Hopefully tomorrow. I'm having issues with the Air Stairs layer that doesn't seem to want to function properly, though John is working on that as we speak. I'd like to do another video like the one on the previous page but I'll likely stick to just completing this paint.
  11. So I've received some PM's pertaining to the veracity of my initial post regarding materials provided by American and the NDA. To lay those concerns/complaints to rest, I'm providing the following. I've heavily redacted most it though.
  12. A few individuals were asking for a video preview. Merry Christmas.
  13. Great screens Mike. That's where P3D really shines. The ambient and dynamic light system and the way it interacts with the environment and the things in it. It just blows FSX out of the water.
  14. Both wings and elevators now reflect the current livery scheme.
  15. I like it. Still, like to see these released eventually.
  16. Clear out your PM's, Rich. @ Mike Let me know if you received the PM.
  17. Looking for two individuals with AXE that are willing to do some tests.
  18. One thing that I've noticed with every American paint for every addon, is that no one has gotten the A in American right. Until now that is. It's always way, way too tall.
  19. John gets credit as well. This project wouldn't have succeeded without him, period. As for the detail, well, that's a bit subjective. The AXE paint-kit only has 1K textures and that in turn limits what we or any painter can do for this addon. I'd love to have a 4K or even a 2K paint-kit, but it's been stated mutliple times that that's never going to happen. A video will be done prior to release.
  20. Almost. Still a bit a tweaking to do, need to confer with John on a few things and we need to run it through some tests to make sure its not missing anything but... it's close.
  21. I've received a lot of requests for a update here at AVSIM. Even though this community is troll intensive, here it is. 1. As previously shown, this is the aluminum portion of the Turbine Pylon. This was a section of the paint that I considered bypassing and simply "painting". However, given that I stated this will be a completely accurate AMR Livery, I went ahead and created a custom texture for this portion. This is a feature on the Bus that is only relegated to American Airlines. 2. Pretty self-explanatory. 3. This one is a little odd. First and foremost, as you can see, the dark grey area on the pylon in 3 differs completely from 4 which is current. The paint-kit does not feature this option as every aircraft version in the PSD's provided by Aerosoft only contain option 3. This means I had to create a completely new layer and paint/texture it myself. It was a fairly time consuming process. That said, American isn't the only airline that has this grey section pictured above, so I'm hoping that they'll update/fix the paint-kit to provide this as a layer option that can be enabled. 4. The engine cowling markings at the base of the turbine housing are also not a option in the paint-kit. Again, these were layers that had to be altered and painted. 5. Again, self-explanatory. I might scrap my version of the Stab if John can do a better job than I. Current status and future plans: I'm sure people are concerned as to the lack of paint on the tail section. John is currently working on that as we speak and given his attention to detail and dedication to being precise, I know it'll come out beautifully. As soon as John and I have this paint completed, I intend to move toward recreating the entire American Airbus fleet currently in use which includes a fictional One World paint. That's five seperate versions in thier entirety. Regards, Bryan/DetCord
