Hello! I am, after around 2 years with my computer, planning an upgrade. Before I start, I'll list my specs: Asus Sabertooth P67 MOBO Intel Core i5 2500K @ 4,8GHz CPU Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz CL9 RAM Corsair HX 850W 80+ Silver PSU Gigabyte GTX 560Ti 1GB GPU 500GB HDD 150GB HDD 128 GB SSD Corsair Vengeance C70 Case Some really noisy but great Scythe fans I have looked around and found this graphics card: MSI GTX670 Power Edition OC It seems like a really nice card with high speeds, nice amount of memory and really good overclocking opportunities. The question is: Will it do my FSX any good? Right now I am running FSX on high settings with a couple of tweaks in the CFG. My FPS are mostly OK, even though they can easily drop below 20 in the NGX at a high quality airport I don't experience any large amounts of disturbing lag or stuttering. Although, sometimes the lag gets a bit too heavy. Not very often, but for sure it happens Also, my ground textures often look good (close to awesome) at departure. But after, say a two hour flight, the textures are often extremely blurry and autogen starts to disappear. This makes my FSX look really bad in a way that makes me think I'm running low on something, but what? For info, I'm using GEX for ground textures. I'm not a computer guru, but something makes me think I'm bottlenecking my system with my GPU. I mean, 4,8GHz and 8Gb of RAM should be enough, right? Although, my GPU is getting a bit old. also it's not very fast nor does it have a lot of memory. If any of you have any other thoughts, please share them. Hi! Today i made two tests with my freshly tweaked FSX using the NGX, and i want to share the results. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Test 1: Location: London Heathrow Airport, Aerosoft scenery Flight: Took off from 09R, turned back to the airport, made a low pass above the terminals at 300ft, turned around and landed on 09L. See pic: FPS: I benchmarked the FPS with Fraps. I got the following results Min: 11 Max: 31 Avg: 24,510 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Test 2: Location: Faro, Scenery by Aerosoft. Flight: Took off from runway 28, turned right back towards the airport, made a low pass att 200ft, turned around again and landed on runway 28. FPS: Min: 14 Max: 31 Avg: 26,319 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion: Pretty happy after all. The FPS aren't great. But I barley noticed any lag, so I'm already feeling better about my FSX. I did put the sliders down a bit, to around 50-75% on the scenery tab. I also tweaked using Word Not Allowed's guide, as well as the links Santi871 sent me. Any input? Can I max out my FSX even better? Regards,

Thanks for your answer! 1. I know that. Although I won't be able to fit an H100 (Push and pull) in my current case. Also, my current case has no good cable management which really messes up the inside of the case. So a new case is on my list, even though it won't give me any higher frames :P 2. Hmm. Actually, I'm doing pretty well on the temps. I overclocked to 4,7GHz today and the temps never exceeded 75 degrees Celsius during prime 95. I probably won't get the H100 after all. You don't happen to have any tweaking links you can share? I've been looking for ages without finding anything that really helped :P As I said above, I will lower some sliders and report back! :) Regards

Hmm. Didn't seem to be EZDok after all. It seems to work now, after deleting the FSX.cfg. I am still using my own EZDok config though

Hi everybody! I am currently not satisfied at all with my computer. Yesterday for example, when I was flying to Rhodes using default scenery, I got 17 FPS (with some lag/stuttering) on final approach (in the NGX). I think this is way too bad for my computer, which is built with the following components: Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth P67 CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K @ 4,3 GHz CPU Cooler: Cooler master Hyper 212+ RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz CL9 8GB Video Card: Gigabyte GTX560 1024 Mb HDD: Segate 500GB, SATA 6 Gbit/s, 7200 Rpm PSU: Corsair TX 650W Case: Cooler Master Elite 430 I am planning a computer upgrade next month replacing these parts: Case: Cooler master HAF XM CPU Cooler: Corsair H100 w/ four 1200rpm 60,4 cfm fans for push and pull Is this the way to go? Or am I on the wrong track? Should I upgrade something else? ------------------- Some info about my FSX: Planes i fly: Almost only the NGX, sometimes the Maddog or Wilco's Airbuses Addons I use: REX, GEX, UTX, EZDok, Ultimate Traffic, Active sky, Shades Sceneries: Almost only payware addons such as Aerosoft, FSDT, Uk2000 and so on. Hi all! I'm currently experiencing a major problem with Ezdok. It has been working like a charm since I installed it the first time. But yesterday, when I imported a camera file (Angle Of Attack's NGX-config), the entire VC (on all aircraft) stops working... I can click on the buttons, pull the levers etc. But the animations are gone... For example, when i arm the auto throttle the green light illuminates but the switch doesn't move. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled and reinstalled as admin, moved the camera forward to make sure I'm not in the headrest. I have done basically everything I can think of. Does anyone have a clue? Regards

Hello! I am dealing with a rather annoying problem in FS9. My Level Of Deatail radius (I believe it's called) is soooo loooow. First, take a look at these pics: As you see in this pic, my ground textures are completely messed up... And in the left corner, the REX water has stopped loading More crappy resolution textures Here is probably the worst one. 1400ft and the runway textures hasn't even loaded yet?! And the ground textures in front of the plane are just messed up. I have ALL sliders at max in the FS9 settings, I believe that should make a little bit better than this? Does anyone know what's wrong? Regards,

Okay. I'm back. I clocked the CPU back down to 3,3Ghz and flew the same route. This time it froze multiple times during descend. CTD at around 5000ft :(
