  1. Another great video froogle! I seriously might just end up watching video diaries and never get around to buying the 777. I want to fly, but it scares the heck out of me. Being a family guy with two small children and a hectic work schedule (haven't we all? ) - I am pretty sure I will never get passed reading the manuals. But that's life I guess. Anyway - looking forward to reading about everyone's experiences and watching more froogle-tapes in the future.
  2. This is my setup: 1. FTX Global (in hybrid mode) 2. Orbx USA Regions 3. UTX USA 4. FS Genesis Mesh 5. FS Genesis Landclass (in between UTX Urban and Vegetation in scenery library). And REX for weather. For me this is a fantastic combination. Others mileage may vary. Regards, Frank
  3. Couldn't agree more. A P-51 is something John Travolta or Tom Cruise could fly around in. I'll most likely never even see one in real life, so give me a 172 any day. Might even get to fly one in say 5-10 years if I'm lucky.
  4. Well I am super excited about flying the 172. I really really enjoy taking the Cub for a spin, but kept wishing that A2A would surprise us by announcing a Super Cub expansion for it. That would have been perfect imo. As good as the Cub is, I just can't bear to fly for long being so painfully slow. The 172 on the other hand have me already well on the way planning my first crossing of USA starting in Maine heading west. Combining FTX Global, UTX, FS Genesis and REX with the 172 has finally pushed me over into doing it. And I can't wait to get going. Undecided on including a GPS or not, but I'm tempted to skip it and do it the hard way.
  5. * Friday night - check! * Kids asleep - check! Perfect time for release.
  6. A2A as it will (most likely) release first. That said, I have the RealAir Scout, Duke and Lancair as well (and of course the A2A Cub). All fantastic aircraft. The Scout and Cub are my favorites of those, and the ones I fly regularly. This might sound silly, but I get most satisfaction out of flying something I can pretend to be able to afford someday. The Duke and Lancair feels like fast expensive sports cars that fly too fast for me to keep up with. I'm seriously looking forward to my pretend C172 (preferably a used one), spending time studying charts while planning the next flight - and doing everything by the book before, during and after. As mentioned elsewhere in this thread: Better (for me) to spend time flying one well prepared flight a week than several random hop-in-and-fly trips every other day. Just my 2 cents. Regards, Frank
  7. Can't wait to fly low and slow over Orbx territory with the C172 by VOR/NDB and just maps. Love the Cub but never got all those warbirds no matter how great they probably are. Military aircraft just don't appeal to me. Enough about that. Bring on video 2. :Applause:
  8. Oh my! I'm so ready for the A2A C172. Bring it on.
