  1. That's been the gist of what I've read! It's also a little more expensive LOL! That is so true I feel like I'd have no idea what to do and/or communicate, but that's just ignorance. I'd need to learn the ropes etc. You can only fly in certain regions correct?
  2. I think so too
  3. I'm looking to purchase either Radar Contact or FS2Crew for the PMDG 737. I can't decide which one I will enjoy more...From what I understand both are incredible add-ons and definitely will have a learning curve. But just how good is RC?? From my research I've noticed it has a few bugs and I'm kind of familiar with its setup (loading SID/STAR into FSX format etc..). So, if you had to purchase one, what would it be?
  4. Perfect! Thank you!
  5. How would I, on the PMDG 737, fly the approach feather manually? By this I mean riding LNAV/VNAV and AP right until I'm lined up a few miles out...I know I'd disconnect first the autopilot, and then by this time VNAV would've already switched off to where I set VREF +5? My goal is I guess to still have the AT control the speed, but me controlling the plane vertically and laterally? If I also pressed VOR/LOC and then APP, would the two localizer and G/S bugs stay there as reference points? I apologize for the conflated questions, but I don't know exactly how to communicate this. I'm sure you guys will have a much more clear answer! Thanks! :help:
  6. Okay...I have every trace of FSX removed from comp (so I believe). Is there anyway to be sure? I'm going to try and install tonight after I finish typing a paper.... :p0317:
  7. That's what I'm going to do. Remove every trace, I'm then going to use this: http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic34141_post198187.html#198187 and this: http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic29041.html to setup. Sound good, Scotty? I definitely will, thanks for your help vg!! :Peace:
  8. This link has exactly my issue (and there's a visual): http://forum.avsim.net/topic/387736-fsx-crashes-when-i-fly-with-737ngx/#entry2491604 Exactly! My system is fine! Again, everything 'runs', it's just the level of uncertainty and paranoia of the error. I'm really surprised no one has heard (so far) of the known W7 64 bit error
  9. What I've been trying to accomplish. Nice analogy. Forget P3D! I want error gone!
  10. I'm not sure how I would even find the first version because I deleted it through the recycle bin. I know it's not technically 'uninstalled', but there still would be remains that would interfere with current one? I don't think even reformatting the entire OS will fix the fatal error because I feel like I've read that in other forums.
  11. I'm in the same position....please let me know if you find anything out!
  12. I don't know much about it...What's with academic vs. professional? For the most part, yes. I tried to insert disc 1 and uninstall that way, but the uninstaller was incompetent. So I reinstalled the game to my desktop. FSX loads and the game appears to work, but there's the uncertainty of the Fatal Error popping up mid-fllight or any right click. Fatal Error...
  13. I have two dilemmas. I'm currently on Windows 7 64-bit and have started experiencing the 'Fatal Error' nonsense. I messed with the uiautomationcore.dll and then re installed FSX to desktop because I thought the fix would be to get it out of x86. I thought it was operating smoothly, but I still got the dreaded fatal error mid-flight from clicking on the map....it's driving me crazy!!!!!! The original FSX that was in x86 was never really uninstalled because I wasn't able to (received error at uninstall)--which led me to deleting registry keys and more frustration. PLEASE! I ask...are there any other tactics to get rid of fatal error? This is so ridiculous that a user has to go through all of this to play FSX. My other dilemma isn't appropriate for this section because it deals with PMDG. I removed every trace of that because when I went to use the activation key a second time, guess what popped up.... drum-roll please......an ERROR! So I guess the next move is contact PMDG? All of this has me ready to pull my hair out. Is there anything I can do? I've given up on my end of googl-ing and reading about stuff I have no idea about, and have now turned to the experts at AVSIM. Thanks so much in advance.
  14. That you are doing! Every answer gets better. You're the epitome of a mogul/guru. Again, very interesting. I have a cousin that flies in and out of LGA for Chautauqua--so I'm sure if I can somehow reiterate this he'd be surprised... :t0152:
