  1. Hi Avsim I have been a member here since a few years ago but mainly on the library then on and off at the forums then I got away for some time but now I want to commit my presence more into FS. I have been a FS2004 user since it came out and don't really plan on switching to any other sim. So I thought to have my introduction topic after all this time and would like to give a big shout out for the painters, developers and so on. Thank you for enhancing FS2004 over the years. I also have a special request for a project that I'm interested on starting but first I would like the admins to help me with clearance. If it's ok to post here let me know so I will proceed. Thank you and have a nice day
  2. Hi Ronzie, thanks for the reply, appreciate it. I don't know what happened but the aircraft is showing up now. I did some tests again with the cfg file by playing around with some values of the fltsim livery and it worked but I really don't know what made the difference :Confused:everything seems the same. Oh well thanks anyway. I also had another livery which had probably the same problem and it's showing up now too.
  3. Hi avsim, So I was trying this new texture, can't paste a link here I don't know why, so just type in the library search "md11 euro" as in flight simulator 2004 - ai aircraft I installed the texture correctly and assigned a fp for it but it never shows up at the airport. I used the DXT3 folder textures. I really wonder what is the problem, I did exactly right everything I can think of while installing base files and textures and flight plan. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi avsim, There are gauges flickering in cockpit in my FS2004 whether it's a default panel or addon panel, I'm not sure if it's because of 2D ones. Even if I open a panel window like the gps. I tried changing several settings in the display but no result. My specs are : i7-3770 @ 3.4Ghz Nvidia GTX 660 2GB RAM 16GB DDR3 1.6Mhz 2 hard drives win7 home premium When I used to fly on my average performance laptop it never did that. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  5. For a try out, I got it solved by doing a system restore. I don't know if it's going to happen again but if it will, I'll try your solutions and report back here for success or failure. Thank you very much. A must have program for AI enthusiasts. Just by the way, I don't think it's a hard disk related issue. Something happened with the registry but I got no clue what caused it.
  6. No I didn't do anything, like I said I was installing new AI aircrafts textures and I had the program opened to check them at the same time if the textures show up good. I never ran it as admin too.
  7. Hi, I was opening AI-aircraft editor and all of a sudden nothing works anymore. When I open it I get this message : Run-time error '76': Path not found then it opens but nothing shows up and whatever I click nothing shows up or applies or simply anything. It was working fine just a few seconds ago. I was installing new AI aircrafts and used the editor to check the textures using the model viewer. But now poof everything gone, I uninstalled and reinstalled, still same error. Any help please appreciated. Thank you.
  8. Hi, I'm looking for an AI aircraft DC10. I found some models here in avsim library, a DC10-10 and a DC10-30, I downloaded the -30 version because of the available repaints. But reading the descriptions and readme files, nothing but negativity is shown for that model. Is there something I should know about before I start my traffic file please. Thanks in advance. The base model is here : http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=&FileName=aim_dc1030_crummy_mdl_pack.zip&Author=&CatID=root
  9. Ok thank you very much. I guess I'll change the airport layout a bit. Will check that tool as well.
  10. Hi, I'm having problems with the AI taxiing for takeoff or taxiing to gates, they just block each other when it comes to tight gates and taxiways, one is leaving the gate the other is taxiing to the next gate spot, one of them ends up vanishing. Is there a work around for these situations as they happen a lot on major airports. I have a screenshot for my example but I can't get it upload here. How do I upload a picture in the avsim forum, sorry if it's stupid but I don't find any attachments or whatsoever. Thanks in advance.
  11. atc_airlines= means what will the ATC call that livery (airline callsign, example "CEDAR JET 332, clear for takeoff"), in my case, it's Air Cairo but it doesn't call that because I think the callsign is not added in the system. Unexpectedly, that livery vanishes from my flight sim if I keep it blank so I don't know what else I can comment for it. I've tried lots of things to make them appear while leaving that line blank but didn't get any of them to show up. atc_parking_codes= means this is a specific parking spot for a specified airlines and that parking spot can be anywhere on the airport depending where that spot has been put at by the creator of the AFCAD or ADE. Example, I created a parking spot for gate 1 of terminal 1 for MEA airlines (parking code MEA). That spot can be moved and placed anywhere around the airport using ADE or AFCAD.
  12. Ok I found some great info... First, I've resolved my problem with Air Cairo showing up in my flight sim. I misunderstood how flight plan lines apply to an aircraft. After reading the documentation, I've cleared some things up BUT that wasn't the main problem. I've discovered an unusual thing in the aircraft cfg file of the package. Going through the check [flightsim.xx] : [fltsim.63] title=WoA_DJC_A320-200_CFM_MSC-Air Cairo model=CFM_200 texture=MSC-Air Cairo sim=DJC_A32X atc_airline=AIR CAIRO atc_id= atc_heavy= ui_manufacturer=DJC ui_type=Airbus A320-200 CFM ui_variation=Air Cairo description=Painted by Dieter Barthelmeus atc_parking_types=GATE atc_parking_codes=MSC "atc_airline=" was blank, I added "AIR CAIRO" to it and the livery is showing up at their designated flight plans. By many people's knowledge, it looks like it has nothing to do with AI presence in flight sim but apparently for me it does take effect. I noticed it was missing because all my previous flightsim.xx had each the name of their airlines in that line. Maybe if that line remains blank, it can explain the invisible AI in FS? I'm not sure about that. (you can test with and without that line added and see if the package is shown in fs) NOTE PLEASE. I just have this question about adding new aircraft, if I want to expand a livery package fleet(fictional fleet), I will need a new AI aircraft base model then textures that will match that model? Then the 3 txt source files for the traffic file? Just like woai is? Because the way I see woai is, they have the models from different model developers, they have the textures that paints on those models I guess and they have the 3 source files for a traffic file, so model, textures and traffic file, 3 in 1.
  13. Oh so sorry, here's the file names.. godaired.zip or air152up.zip I got into another problem. The Air Cairo isn't showing up in my flight sim despite following one of its flight plan departure, I have tried several things to intercept it in flight but cannot succeed. Everything seems to be in order, other people tried it and they got the aircraft present at an airport, with me it's nowhere to be found.
  14. I found this in google search, http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?searchid=27281350 Which one should I go with? The 1st or 3rd?
