Windows 8 - Joystick Megathread problem.
What does this have to do with our USB-Joystick-Issue? BTW, I would not turn off UAC, as this is a security feature...

This is really a f'up! Logitech states that MS has to solve this issue. MS respons that I should contact vendor. So the ping pong has started. This sucks. Going back to Win7 now. I can't recommend to switch to Win8 now. Just too early!

Not really...Unfortunately. The solution you are posting are related to Joysticks using the Gameport of the Soundcard with Vista or older. We are having trouble with USB related devices and Windows 8. Seems as if MS has to deliver a USB driver update for Win8. BTW, I did not get an answer from MS and Logitech, yet. Could be a good sign that this is getting beyond 1st-Level-Support and some real experts are looking into this. Let's see.... I will let you know, as soon as I have news..

Yap! You are damn right! Logitech just stated today, that the drivers are built around the generic Microsoft Drivers. And with generic MS Drivers only, the issue is also coming up. And as you have stated, we are seeing the problem with different vendors. I have just responded back to MS that they should solve the issue professionally, rather than pushing it to the vendors..

Windows 8 - Joystick Megathread problem.
Hey Folks! I got an answer from Microsoft, which was a bit disappointing. They have mentioned that those Drivers are coming from the vendors (in my case Logitech), not von Microsoft - although I have mentioned that this seems to be a generic issue, not related to a single product. They recommend to contact the vendor, which I definitely will do! You should maybe contact your Joystick vendor as well. If vendors receive lots of support request , we might be able to get this issue fixed with Win8.

Hi! I have the same issue with X-Plane! The logs state that the Joystick was "unregistered". This happened suddenly, when Joystick was in idle for some time. No Chance to recover. Started with Windows 8. Also disabled power-save etc., but does not help at all. Seems that the new USB-Driver from Win8 (with USB 3.0 support) has an issue. I made a post at the Microsoft Forum. Waiting for some proper answer. See ya Os-Man
