That's pretty to the point. Anyway, it seems to be quite new, they might optimize it, I don't recall having seen the effect before.
Kind regards, Michael
Hi Michael,
Your FX.ZIP file still works for the 1.3.1 models?
I tried your file and change the parameters.xml to prioritize FSLTL models, but I don't see the touchdown smoke effect.

I will look into this when I am back from vacation.
No worries, Nico, enjoy your vacation.🙌

Ok, this is what I have tested. Small and medium aircraft like E145, ERJ, B737 and A320 & A321, most of them are not doing a bank turn, heavy aircraft are no problem, they are doing well.
I'm using MSFS2020, AIG, JustFlight and FSLTL models.

Please be more specific.
Hi,
This happens in all injected traffic, if a spot or chase any AI aircraft, all turns are made just with the yaw, no banking at all. If you put a wing view on it, it looks very strange turning without banking.
It happens to me at KMCO, KBOS, KLAX, MMMX, almost any airport. I'll try to make a video.

Hi,
Traffics are not banking in turns, they jus yaw and looks very strange. This affect plane spotting or chasing an airplane.
Thx

Also note that the workaround mechanism is only meant for users missing their home airport supported. I dont expect more then 10, 20 at the most. Users of PSXT are predominantly coming form USA, Germany, United Kingdom, France and Italy.
No, forget about Learning
And Mexico 😢

Confirmed, I was testing also KIAH and it is a ghost airport, very poor traffic and as soon they land 2 seconds later disappeared.

Appear/diappear. Taxing in weird areas instead of on the taxiway (used to taxi correctly). Planesdisappearing on the runway. Planes moving backawards. Planes moving at lightspeed and then stop and then taxi normally. All at airports that used to do really well. Sad it had to change.
Same behavior in all mexican airports.

Now fixed.
Thanks so much Nico.

Hi Nico.
I tried to update from 3.9.1 to 3.9.3 but just version 3.9.4 is available and after intalling says to revert to 3.9.3 version. Where I can download that version?
Thx

With all the wonderful effects that we have been seeing in the past weeks like thrust reverses, rolling wheels, etc., the landing smoke tires will the cherry of the cake.
Thanks Nico and Real Traffic team for this master piece of software.

For this area I use TDL 140 and PSXT auto range with 10miles max radius for AI spotting while on the ground. The same approach I'm using for nearby DD KEWR. I have old 9900k@5.0, 2080Ti and 32GB RAM. Using DX11 mode (DX12 might be a source of your problem as well)
Yeah, I will try disabling many bells and whistles and test.
Thanks for the tip.

Hi,
No, I'm not using GSX just the AIG, FSLTL and FS Traffic (just the base models).

Hi,
With the new Version 36.3.0 seems to be working good. Maybe something in the DB was broken. At this point no freezing or CTD at KJFK.Greeting from MexicoJaimeI wrote too early, after 30 min spotting at JFK traffic started to disappear and sometimes flashing, then the sim freezes and CTD, this is just happening at this airport with PSXT + RT.
-
Hi,
I'm having serious issues at JFK, Inibuilds and Asobo's stock scenery. Before injecting traffic I can move my drone camera to any part of the airport without problems, but after 2 or 3 minutes traffic has been injected and starts the show, suddenly freezes and 30 seconds later CTD.
I reinstalled AIG and FSLTL, not sure what is going on, but this issue starded since Version 36.2.1. I tested in KLAX, KPHX, KLAS and EGLL, everything working great at this mayor airports, just KJFK has the freezing and CTD issue.
My system:
- Ryzen 9 5900X
- 64 GB Ram
- RTX 3090
- Windows 11
- AIG & FSLTL full install
I'm the only one?

Again, PSXT does not render aircraft, it only tells the Sim where to put aircraft. It is the Sim that generates the frames.
I have the same problem at heavy airports, it is not related to PSXT, it is a sim bug in the way it manage memory. There are many posts with this issue at the MSFS forum and Discord.

11 hours ago, kiek said:That's a QNH issue. The QNH at EGLL is extremely high (1040) at the moment. This means PSXT has to caculate a lot of heights during the landing based on the Vertical speed (not very acurate) just before touch down, because in the RT data the height is 0 with these QNH's.
Thx for the explanation. This is going to happen with airports with high or low QNH? Mexico City (MMMX) is the same thing now, aircraft landing on the street, at list 1,000 ft before the airport.
-
Hi,
I'm trying to do some plane spotting at EGLL but I noticed that all landings are touching down before the runway, not sure if this is a QNH related issue, but in both runways is the same. Last week plane spotting was perfect, aircraft landing at the correct spot.
Thankyou.

Let's see if more people have flicker problems, sofar only 2 (out of approx. 500).
EDIT: looks a driver issue to me.
Me too having that flickering also, it comes specially in heavy airports and any aircraft, not just the PMDG. It desappears turning off PSXT, but I think is the way ASOBO handles the memory. I don't think is PSXT related.
My best wishes for 2023.

This new version is a complete game changer for plane spotting, a big wow and hats off.
Thankyou Nico for this big improvement. 🙏
Landing effects like smoke tire will be the top of the iceberg. Nice job.

In PSXT for P3D you may see that.
PSXT does not control these effects, it is part of the aircraft package you are using, I believe. You need .fx files and references to it in the aircraft.cfg files.
Unfortunately in MSFS a lot of things are implemented different...
Nico
Thx Nico, FSLTL have those effects in most models, but I really don't know if it hast to be that traffic works internaly, nevermind, I prefere 100% your app with RealTraffic, I hope someday the micro stuttering in the injected traffic desapear and have smooth and beautiful plane spotting.
Cheers

Hi Nico, I have a simple question.
It is possible to have touchdown effects like tire smoke when landing?
Thx for this programs, works like a charm.

Hi,
I found the easiest way to chase certain aircraft. Inside the PSXT folder, normally in drive C root, you will find a file called Callsign2ObjectId.txt. Open it in Notepad++ and you will have a list of active aircraft on ground and air with the object ID and flight number as seen in Flightradar24.
I hope this helps.
