  1. I don't have AP stuff assigned anywhere, I use mouse wheel on cockpit knobs. Issue only happens with mouse wheel, not when clicking the knobs. Guess I have to look into FSUIPC too, been out of the loop for a few years now. I used to have FSUIPC for FSX.
  2. Hi, so, I have this issue when rotating autopilot knobs using the mouse wheel. This started happening in the middle of a flight and doesn't go away even with restarting the entire PC. This only applies to certain knobs, but usually at least heading selection in most planes, sometimes altitude too. The rate of change is now 10x of what it used to be, ie. heading changes 10 degrees with each step of the mouse wheel, altitude changes 1000ft. By clicking the knobs I can increment it at smaller steps, but that's a little inconvenient sometimes. If anyone is able to give any suggestions as to why this is happening, I'll be forever grateful. Aleksi
  3. Thanks 🙂 but I already went and ordered a 2560x1440 display. I might be wrong, but I have never seen a big difference between 2k and 4k. I have a 50" 4k display acting as a TV, and the games I've played on that, I've turned down to 2k because I haven't seen the difference in resolution and with 2k I could turn all settings to Ultra. Although I heard that some people with 2080ti don't have any difference in FPS between 2k and 4k. But I'll eventually be flying big airliners on big airports with big traffic so hopefully I saved money at the right place in thinking that I'd turn the res down anyway to get smoother frames.
  4. Does someone actually expect public multiplayer to have any sort of resemblance of realism? :'D No, proper procedures of IRL flight are too much to reasonably expect casual players to study. I know I'll stick to single player or VATSIM but honestly, the more flight simmers, the merrier, so like everyone here has said, let everyone have fun their way.
  5. Heyo, I'm considering buying a new display to replace my 24" 1080p one. I am space limited, about 80cm is the maximum width for the display, so it's touch and go if a 34" curved ultrawide would fit, but I'd like the widest display I can fit. Either way, after looking at ultrawides for a while I realised that instead of maximum horizontal FOV, I might want better vertical FOV too when it comes to flight sims. So in you people's experience, for flight sims, ultrawide or regular widescreen? I'll probably fly big airliners on VATSIM 95% of the time, hoping to get TrackIR. I won't mind other tips on what I should look for in a display. I have a 1080ti so personally I think my sweet spot in resolution would be 1440p. Don't need high refresh rate either, 144Hz is more than enough. Budget cap is 700€. Thank you, Aleksi
  6. I don't want this to be the solution. FSX air dynamics are dull enough WITH turbulence. Without it flying would surely be like riding along rails. I use ASN, yes, and am aware of the potential issues it might cause. However, I didn't experience these issues with the release version of the 777, and I haven't changed any turbulence settings since then, although ASN has been updated. Don't know if those updates changed anything. I think I get that everytime I'm at 1400-1500 AGL and not in landing config, so I figured that's why if I have gear down and flaps at least 25 before 1500 AGL, there's no such message. I'll try and reset to A/T when this happens next time. Thanks for the replies
  7. Bumptydump. Should I post a new thread to get attention?
  8. Here's a screenshot of what it did to me today. It doesn't happen on every approach, about half of them maybe, but again, turbulent approach into EDDF and this happened when on glideslope I set my assigned speed from 180 to 160: Speed dropped to 145, at which point I lowered flaps to 25 and set speed to 145. A/T didn't respond too quick and the plane accelerated back to 155 before slowing down. I managed to get her down without disconnecting autothrottle, though.
  9. I'm also experiencing trouble with the A/T now. I didn't before SP1. I was away from simming for a while. The problem doesn't seem to be that the A/T wouldn't attempt to follow the assigned speed. It's rather that it acts too lazily. Example: I was on final course descending to 4000ft with FLCH mode at 210 knots. When I reached 4000ft, I reduced a/t speed to 180 and added flaps accordingly. At 185 the a/t started slowly adding thrust, but too slowly. I was at 170 when the aircraft started accelerating back. Then I hit the glideslope, making me start descent. A/T did very little to stop me from accelerating, and I was very quickly at 190 and increasing when I disconnected A/T and set throttle to idle. The weather was somewhat turbulent. Not hugely awful, but bumpier than average. Could the TURB MODE be the culprit? I think I should experiment with higher values for it...
  10. I'll be going external. But there are a couple of things I'd like to try and understand, and would be very grateful if you could explain some of it. If this problem has something to do with the copy protection, why is it me that has the problem and not everyone else as well? And, eSATA sounds like a difficult option, since my fsx computer is a laptop, and I've no idea how to connect an eSATA drive to it, if it's even possible. Not much experience with computers' insides I might have to go for a USB
  11. I've considered getting an external drive, since they're not that expensive, but I'm worried that the issue might not be the drive, but somewhere else in the computer... I probably would try it however, if someone could explain to me why the virtual drive with the disc image didn't work? Is there some kind of protection for that as well?
  12. Hi, I just bought PMDGs MD11 & B747 from Aerosoft's sale. They only had boxed format, so that's what I got. I already had experience of installing the NGX boxed. My computer did not recognise the disc, but I managed to work around that problem by copying the content to an external hard drive through another computer and then installing the NGX on this computer using only the data. When I got the MD11 & B747, I tried to install them, and same problem. Neither of the discs was recognized by my computer. I tried the same workaround. This time no good, since both required the original disc to be inserted while installing. I contacted Aerosoft's support about this. I've got one reply and my last message to them has been without reply for days now. The issue persists. The discs work fine on my other computer, so they are not the problem. Also, most other discs work on this computer as well, including old & new, CDs & DVDs. What is weird, is that also FSX discs have stopped working on this computer. But that's it. All other discs work but FSX and PMDG. I also suspect that the problem is not my optical drive. The driver is up to date, and even using a virtual drive didn't do it: I created a disc image of the MD-11 disc and mounted it on a virtual drive. I got it to do the autorun and open the installation window, but when I clicked install, the message I got was "wrong disc inserted", whereas when I had tried installing using only the raw files copied from the disc I had got "no disc inserted". I know it's a complicated problem, but I'm hoping someone here might have some experience of similar cases. As said in the title, I am using Windows 7 64 bit, which could be causing some compatibility issues, based on what I've read in some forums all over the internet. If all else fails, might it be possible for me to get a download version of these two products and maybe use the installation keys that came with the boxes...? I'm desperate. Aleksi Laine
  13. Hi, I looked through the topics a little, and everyone here seems to be having some specific problem. Well, I have problems with a lot of things about RC. First and most relevant problem I have is that the "repeat" command won't work. No, I do not have the auto-reply on. I've tried different key bindings, but can never get the ATC to repeat transmissions. Second, often when getting transferred to another radio freq, I manually tune to the correct frequency only to hear the previous controller go "I say again: contact..." after which I acknowledge the frequency again while already having my radio set on the new frequency and then I get to contact the next controller. This is annoying especially during busy approaches and take-offs. Third, RC gets "jammed". There are multiple reasons for this. Last time it happened when I was running out of fuel and trying to file my first ever emergency. I browsed through the first and second pages of emergencies looking for some kind of "low fuel" situation. When I couldn't find one on the first two pages, I pressed "next" once more which caused the window to say "standby". It stayed on standby and I didn't hear from the controller after that. I landed (through an A320) and quit RC. This has also happened when I as a newbie to RC was flying at wrong altitude due to incorrectly set QNH. I got confused and tried to see what altitude I had been assigned by pressing "request higher". This caused RC to go "standby" and I again landed without ATC. Can anyone offer an explanation to why my RC has so many functionality issues? I'm using AISmooth, MyTraffic 2013, REX and LVLD767 Oh, and as a sidenote, my RC does not seem to recognize the existence of Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi-airport. Not a big problem, but thought that I'd mention it here.
