[01OCT15] Prepar3D v2/v3 compatible installers available
Hi, After the install of the last version of the 777, P3D v3 Academic does not start anymore, with or without the RAAS update (I don't use it). Anybody has the same problem ? Thanks, Vincent

PMDG 777 is out for P3D!
Hi, Anybody has a problem with a dual FMC failure and going direct to a point via the ALTN LEGS page ? The sim frezze and leave to windows, or continue to run, but the FPL dissappear from the FMC. I have had the same problem with the FSX version. I am in contact with PMDG for several weeks about this problem, but they told me there were not able to reproduce the problem. Anybody knows that, or would you like to try ? Thanks, Vincent

Dual FMC failure - Freeze during flight
Hi, Thanks for the replies. I think also that re)installing everything without looking for the trouble is insane. So, this is what I tried : Set AffinityMask=14 STILL FREEZING Set AffinityMask=14 + Re-install DirectX and Visual C+, still freezing STILL FREEZING Flying with 1 FMC only and entering a direct to coordinates OK Flying with 2 FMCs failure and entering a direct to coordinates STILL FREEZING Any other ideas ? Thank anyway, I hope it will help for the P3d version. Cheers, Vincent

Dual FMC failure - Freeze during flight
Hi everybody, Maybe it is a bug from FSX, but when I simulate a dual FMC failure in cruise and I use the ALTN LEG page to go direct to a point or a fix with coordinates, the sim freeze and go out to windows. Is anybody has the same issue ? Thanks, Vincent

Loss of altitude alert during approach
Hi, I found something interesting, and that could be, I said COULD, the source of the problem. I informed the PMDG team and we keep in touch to each other to confirm this point. I tried to set the Aircraft specific Setting from the Operations Center, and I noticed something. If you set all data and you save it, the save button remain blue, and your option is not saved. I you set one option at a time and you save it each time, the options is really saved. By this method, I recovered the altitude calls out. If anybody have the same issue, can you try that please ? Regards, Vincent

Dear PMDG, would you considers those issues as "bugs" ?
Hi, This is the answer by the PMDG team : Vincent, This was discussed in the BETA and based on the input from our Flight Crew Tech team, we opted not to model the TAC fail on Severe damage as our Severe damage model does not cause loss of the EEC which is what triggers that failure as you discussed. EEC's are extremely difficult to model in FSX due to the lack of an actual turbine model so a lot of it has to be built from the ground up and has a lot of limitations. Thanks for the input however. Thank you for this answer.

Hi, Some more informations. From the maintenance manual AMM 27-11-00 : The TAC function receives thrust data for the two engines from the engine data interface units (EDIU). The EDIUs use N1 rotational speed signals from the EECs to calculate the thrust values. The EECs also send other engine data to the EDIUs to make sure the N1 signal is accurate. The TAC function is active when it is armed and the thrust difference between the two engines is more than 6,000 lbs', about 10% of the maximum rated thrust. Enjoy, Vincent

Hi, When you said engine thrust data, try this failure and look at the secondary engine page : thrust data is lost. So the TAC is lost. We have this failure each time we go to the real sim, and each time, the TAC disconnect with a severe engine damage situation. Concerning the lost of altitude calls, read correctly the full thread. Some peoples help me to solve the problem, and I even re-install three time the 777. Once again, I should have this problem with other aircrafts, other simulation or other game. This is not the case. More, this is a new computer for 8 months. I have had lot of discussions with people and also beta-tester, and we didn't find any solutions. And I am not alone having this problem. So, I just wait from the PMDG to consider and investigate. Those "could be" bugs; Cheers, Vincent

Hi, I'm using the 777 since the begining and I flying the real aircraft as well. This aircraft is simply stunning ! I Itried some engine failure during the take-off. Great ideas to have the option to simulate an engine falure at V1, Vr and V2. The aircraft and the systems are reacting like in reality. Now, could you considers those problems : 1. When a severe damage is simulated, the TAC should disconnect. The FCOM 9.20.15 said that the TAC automatically disengages if engine thrust data is lost. I doesn't happen in the sim, the TAC remains engaged. 2. I started a topic few weeks ago concerning a "sound problem" with altitude calls : http://forum.avsim.net/topic/419653-loss-of-altitude-alert-during-approach/page-2 Thanks to considers those "problems" for the improvements of this fantastic aircraft (the real one and the so well simulated), Regards, Vincent

Loss of altitude alert during approach
Ok, I am F/O, so I selected only the minimum for the F/O side. It seems that setting the CPT side will permit the approaching minimum/minimum calls. But still no altitude calls. Thank anyway, I will try some other approach with and without selecting the minimas on the CPT side to confirm that. Vincent

Loss of altitude alert during approach
Hi, Sorry, I was on hollyday for a week. After another clean installation and without changing anything, I tried an ILS approach with a quick setup. I had the altitude calls, but not aht approaching minimum and minimum. The second flight was the same. After the third flight with the same setup (not a saved situation), I have lost the altitude calls. For those tests, I didn't change nay of the setup on aircraft or equipment, or anything else. I hope it can help. Vincent

Loss of altitude alert during approach
Hi, Sorry about that. I tried the 3 sound possibilities, only one is working well, but the problem is not solved for the time being. This should not be the cause of the issue. So when they reinstall....without reading about what they might have done wrong during the first install....they do it exactly the same (not as Admin...Antivir still running, running an unstable overclock, etc etc) and then they wonder that it did not help! Remember my first post, the altitude call outs was working initially, then disappear. That should not be a wrong installation. Why not considering a bug ? Vincent

Loss of altitude alert during approach
At the question, is a reinstall necessary ? I said, yes. Because, the problem appears and I was unable to determine if I change something in the configuration or if I inadventerly change something. So, after the reinstall, the altitude callouts disappears again without any change from me, I am already sure from that to continue the trouble shooting. I also try to reset the panel state, re-load the panel state, and also to erase the .ini file to start from a new one, with no effect. Concerning my computer, it is a brand new one from 6 months. Everything is working fine, FSX, X-Plane, War Thunder, DCS A-10 and some other games. I never had any problem of sound. All the aircrafts I am using on FSX are working fine. The problem is only related to the PMDG 777, and I have no idea why. Concerning the sound option, I have : - Speaker (Realtek high definition audio) - Realtek digital output (Optical) (Realtek high definition audio) - Realtek digital output (Realtek high definition audio) Only the first one is giving me all sounds. Loss of altitude alert during approach
I am not impatient for an answer, but I try to solve the problem. After playing with several default flight and panel state save, the problem should not come back after a fresh install, right ? But it came again, after no change on any setup or other. Seems to be a real bug. So, to summarize : - 777 install - full cockpit preparation - Panel state saved - Situation saved and set as default flight - RA calls ok for several flights - RA calls dissapears after that. - Check of the FMC setup menu, altitude callouts ON - Test flight : no altitude calls - Check of the setup in the operation center : altitude calls ON. I click on Save. - Test flight : no altitude calls - Desinstall - clean FSX and registry - clean install of the 777 - full cockpit preparation - Panel state saved - Situation saved and NOT set as default flight - RA calls ok for several flights - RA calls dissapears after that. - Check of the FMC setup menu, altitude callouts ON - Test flight : no altitude calls - Check of the setup in the operation center : altitude calls ON. - Test flight : no altitude calls Ok, any idea about what am I suppose to try ? Thanks.

Loss of altitude alert during approach
Hi, Don't worry, I just desinstall and re-install the 777, just in case. And yes, the callouts are on the ON position on the PMDG setup/aircraft/equipment/GPWS page 6/9. I have checked also on the operation center, save the options, but I have the same problem. By the way, I don't have also the call 500 when established on an ILS. Everything sound fine... but I don't have those sounds! Vincent

Loss of altitude alert during approach
Hi, Thanks for the information. Finally, I desinstall - clean FSX - clean the registry and re-install the 777. I started FSX with the default aircraft and scenery, choose the 777, but I have the same issue, still no RA calls during the approach. I checked the FMC setup menu, but everything is ok. Any idea ? Thanks, Vincent

Loss of altitude alert during approach
Hi everyone, First, congratulation for your 777. I'm flying a real one, and it's amazing. During my first flight tests, everything was fine. Recently, I noticed that I have lost all the approach altitude alerts, from 1,000 to 10 feet. I have saved several default flight and save several panel state. I checked the FMC menu option, but all of those alert are activated. I am going to start with the default cessna 172, to switch to the 777, and make some tests. Anybody have this issue ? Cheers, Vincent

PA-34 Seneca vs XPlane 10 64bits
Hi everyone, I send a message here, because I am unable to drop a message on the Carenado support (The website does not send me a password). I am flying the PA-34 seneca in XPlane. Under 32bits, it works perfectly, but I have no sound with the 64bits version. Any idea about a solution, or an update ? (Nothing yet on the Carenado website). Thanks, Vincent
