  1. Also, Does anyone know if the B314A model update is far off, apparently it should be coming with the BOAC liveries (which I'm personally really interested to get my hands on)
  2. Yes as Ian Fisher and I have said, we think it's not ready yet. But we both love the aircraft for what it will be 🙂 Not exactly what it is now, so even though it needs work, we aren't hating on it without the appreciation for what's happened. I can say I'm super excited to do my first trans atlantic flight and to make some video tutorials on this bird once a patch comes in!
  3. I definitely echo all of Ian's thoughts on this, both he and I have chatted as we have been trying to learn this aircraft and I've had all the same issues that he does above. For this price point a BIG update patch is needed, also a custom fuel and payload manager for this pricepoint I would say is nessesary for these long ocean trip that we plan. It's not rocket science.
  4. Ah yes, that's what I've been doing, just sitting (work from home on my laptop) and steering the beast just with the rudder pedals, once it's trimmed at the right speed it sit's fairly comfortably at the right altitude. Until turbulence knocks it about a bit. But having the sperry autopilot actually working would be great, then I could do trans atlantic without having to stare at it for 9hrs. Also my first couple atempts I was having a problem where the engines would just die after about 3hrs of flight. I had them in auto rich setting which I thought would be ok at 8000ft, if they automatically regulate based on altitude. But apparently not, so I must try on auto lean next atempt.
  5. Thanks! so when you mean, 'don't forget about trims' you mean make sure you are trimmed out in straight and level flight before engaging?
  6. Has anyone actually managed to get the gyro pilot to work yet? I've tried it exclusively from both the VC and the 2d panel, both instances I start trimmed straight and level and when engaged it just banks me over into a steep dive or banks me up into a spin. Any thoughts?
  7. I heard about the tiny update they did the other day, I reinstalled, do you have any info on what this new update will contain?
  8. I'm definitely planning on creating some extensive video tutorials on this, from initial startup and understanding of the systems to taking it out on vatsim. As it's only been out for a few days so far it's hard for anyone to produce tutorials worth watching. Although I might do a livestream or two flying it. Problem is I'm having a time just to get the sperry autopilot to work! Every time I get it to engage it begins banking me into the ground.
  9. Hawaiian Airlines anyone? I have just found that they flew the DC-6
  10. Hi All, What is the state of the DC-6 rangewise, has it now been updated to be able to do trans-atlantic crossings? I loaded it up the other day and it looked like it could take more fuel, but I can't say for certain.
  11. Hi All, I have a situation when I am on short final about 50-100ft from touching down at UK2000 Gatwick where I get a massive lag spike and the whole landing proceedure is screwed and i usually get crappy landing rates at Gatwick because of it. But I noticed today that when coming in, same thing happened as always at Gatwick, but I did a go around and on the second run there was no problem at all. I guess its because I might just be at an unlucky spot over the threshold of Gatwick 26L where the sim loads all the heathrow scenery in at just the wrong moment. But it does this consistently. And the reason why I didn't have the massive lag spike second time round was that P3Dv4.1 had already loaded everything in by the second time round. My question to you folks is--- Is there a way to tweak P3D to not load anything in when the aircraft is almost ready to touch down, and then it resumes its loading after touchdown and rollout? I know Active Sky 2016 has an option to stop weather downloads on short final and touchdown. Does P3D have something built in to do that? Or at least limit the load range of autogen and meshes to something really short so I don't get hammered by Heathrow loading in when Im about to touch down at Gatwick You thoughts would be appreciated Regards -Peter
  12. No no gentlemen! TEA, the world is my cup of tea!!! thanks!
  13. :( :( :( lol, massive fail on my part :P So did BOAC use the DC-6 at all? Am I not able to do a realistic trans Atlantic flight in the DC-6 with my favourite carrier of that era? :'(
  14. Thanks Kitiyati for your comment, I totally missed the fact that it was named Air Atlantic! And the thumbnail wasn't easy to spot as i wasn't looking at that one in particular terribly hard. But my request for BOAC passenger version and British United still stand!!!! B-)
