  1. Hello, I would be interested in the Flight Simulator Alpha Set Pro. I live in France and I see that it is shipped internationally, so far so good. Now the simple question: is it compatible with 220/240V 50Hz ( European standart ) ? What about Plug & socket types ? Does it has a standard PC plug so you can connect any simpe types of electrical outlet plugs ? ( https://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plugs-and-sockets/ ) Etienne
  2. Spend the rest of your precious time with your family and dont think of us. Will pray for you. Etienne
  3. Hello again, Another suggestion, I was (sim) flying at night yesterday landing to miami and the panel builder nicely switched to a red glow. It would be nice to have a button to switch the GPS to a more dim coloring (or a shade of red recoloring ?) because it stays bright lit in the middle of the rest. My tomtom satnav has that button , donno if an aircraft gps has one though. Cheers, Etienne
  4. Hi, more (I hope welcome) feedback after a long flight. 1. MFD and Panel are stable which is perfect. 2. I am suffering a lot of latency on the MFD input; I think the latency comes from the fact that I had to plug the MFD on the FSX PC. 3. Because of that, the current "mobile phone" approach to select a name isnt working well for me (hard to select a letter, almost impossible for the one linked to 3 or 4 push, because of latency); would you mind having a "one press" option, I mean you start with your mobile phone like keyboard button grouping, but once the group of letter has been selected, a sub menu appears with one letter per button (+a END and a BACK button). (ideally the button one just pressed is blank to avoid having the mfd registering a double entry). This would ensure a slow but error free input of any name. 4. It would be cool to have only the button that are selectable lit on the MFD, a gadget, but cool anyway. And maybe the button once pressed becoming the only one on for 1/4 sec to give a feedback like "yes I registered this button was pressed" Etienne
  5. Hello there, 1. This would insure a perfect match between what is fsx (can be outdated, overprecise, forward looking, fantaisie) and the gps 2. thx 3. well yes and no, as even if you say "do not show bezels" you cannot drag the gps all the way to the top of the screen as you are still limited by the undrawn shape of the bezel 4. sound good happy thxgiving
  6. Ok, this is my list of suggestions for the GPS MFD. First let the thank you for doing that, this was much needed. 1.) local database merger, let me explain, this is something FSMap does well, have a little software going thru all the installed addons in scenary.cfg and through you database, read the differents data (vor, airports, poi, etc), and generate a local file (your databse would be the lowest priority in fsx scenery terms). 2.) online map service / shape file layers switch. Would be nice to be able to go back and forth between the web generated map (which is nice to know where you are, but a bit overloaded for aiport selection, and the vectoriel map from .shp files). Maybe this is possible already but I havent found it. 3) option to get rid of the buttons 4) option to extend the drawing of the map to the hedge of the screen, for the button explanation, you could just write them on top of the map in their current location in a nice pop up black box, that would greatly increase the drawing size, which is need for 7 to 9" screen. Now: what to do with the 2nd MFD? Maybe a cool interactive check up list. The buttons being there for the "done" aspect? Or
  7. Ok this solved it for me, plugged the MFD into the main PC/FSX (win 7 64b), installed the drivers and buttonmapper and it worked. I am somehow convinced that in its current state buttonmapper is not vista 64 Ultimate / French version compatible. Now I can enjoy the sim! thx for the hard work Etienne
  8. Ok just tried; unpluged the MFD; launched Buttonmapper; "Device cannot be opened" I asked on the other thread, would it be possible to connect the MFD to the FSX PC instead of the cocpkit/Panel Builder one? if so what should I install in that pc? Etienne
  9. Hi Reinhard, Now I am confused, does this mean that I can install the MFD on the main PC (the one running FSX) while the Panel Builder run on another networked PC? If it is the case that may solve my issue as my main PC is on win 7. Before I blow it up, what should I install on my main PC/FSX ? an in which order ? I have the drivers, the hotas software, the ButtonMapper soft and the hardware. Etienne
  10. What happens if you unplug the Cougar MFD and start up Button Mapper? Will try, Etienne
  11. thanks again for your efforts Here goes the pictures. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/72xuxdka50l4jxj/mVri36F_N0 as you can see the MFD is there and can be adjusted and properly tested thru control panel; also the error screen and the input page with a blank two bottom lines; finally a picture of panel builder and gps happilly running, but no way to contact them from thr MFD... :( As I am tenacous I still hope to find a solution. Etienne If you could release another mean of actionning the button that could be like (keystroke? generic DirectX button?) as I could probably manage to program the MFD using the TARGET interface. Btw: Ideas for futures upgrades - fix the MFD connection bug - offer the option to decide independantly for each gauge if one want the border and screws that could avoid some clutter. - for the GPS, too much screen precious display space is "wasted" with the button box and the indications (especially on a 7" screen), there could be a mode where the full screen is the moving map screen and indications could come as a pop up on the map screen. Those could be clickable - an off/on button could switch between the open map view and the vectorial view (or maybe it exist and I havent found it) - somehow the button mapper should be integrated into the main software. - because it is so popular, a Finally this is interesting reading,as I may be suffering from something similar http://forum.pjrc.com/threads/23566-Teensyduino-USB-Joystick-no-data-driver-problem-workaround another interesting finding: http://www.shouldiremoveit.com/Thrustmaster-Hotas-Cougar-Drivers-49024-program.aspx
  12. will do the screenshot tonit, thanks again for trying to help. not much other USB device attached, the 7" mimo screen that displays the GPS, a mouse and a keyboaed. Etienne
  13. Hi Reinhard, yes I installed the thrusmaster driver, will try to remove them. (but I think I tried without them first with little success) Dont think there is any more message than device cannot be found in a box with a ding, will check tonight. I am running out of idea (I reinstalled directx), maybe upgrading to win 7? (this is starting to be pricee ) Etienne
  14. Hi, I am running out of ideas, the MFD looks fine and is well recognised in the control panel (could do screen shot but they really wont show you much). Panel Builder and GPS are working fine (same). But (1) Button Mapper fails to launch properly and (2) the launcher in SimPluggingConnect doesnt work, which isnt a big issue as the connection works and I can launch manually the Panel Builder. any little file you can mail me to put somewhere to force the connection between the GPS and the hardware? I realize vista 64 ultimate is old, but this is my "old" laptop now reconverted into a cockpit so I dont feel like reformating it. Etienne
  15. hi, this may be trivial, but do i need to install the fsuipc version or the simconnect version? Also do I need to be connected before I launch the Button Mapper? Finally I noticed that on the launcher clicking starts has no effect, to launch Panel Builder I need to click the other icon, it is as if apps have problems finding each others. Etienne
  16. I did open the other topic, yes it looks like an issue with button mapper
  17. Sorry to restart a topic, but my last comment on my previous thread may be unoticed as the thread is market "solved" Now that I have installed the Panel Builder and GPs and they are up and running, I try to set up the thrusmater device. The device is installed and recognized by my vista 64 ultimate (I see it as a joystick in the control panel and can test the buttons, adjust the light etc). I installed the latest drivers from thrusmaster. When I launch the utility Button Mapper is says "ding" and an error box "Device cannot be opened" pop up, I press OK, and on the configuration panel pressing the MFD buttons as no effect. I have UAC off, I tried running Button Mapper as admin etc. Is there another way? Is there any of the software in that page that need to be installed as well? http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=298&cid=5 Etienne
  18. thanks reinhard, I am not out of the wood yet, simButtonMapper doesnt see my MFD now, eventhough the thrusmater driver sees it, (I can test the buttons) any idea? Etienne
  19. Ok, I solved it. I updated everything on my PC, against my will as I am a true beleiver into "if it isnt broked dont fudge it", (when I say everything I mean everything, all of the mandatory and optional updates in win updates, the latest version of C++ RTMD, the latest version of .NET, the latest driver of my mimo small 7" screen and then the latest driver from AMD) and dahdah it works. So you need a fairly recent setup for the GPS to work whereas the rest of the panel can cope with something less up to date. Tonit I attack the button maping of the MFD, x fingers this will be fine. It looks good by the way with the open street map on the back. Etienne

  21. Did not work, I need help please. Etienne
  22. Ok found that link: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16171393/could-not-load-file-or-assembly-system-data-sqlite Apparently there is a implicit dependancy between this file and VC++ 2010 Redist, I may not have that on my PC as it is dedicated to my cockpit, will dig that way. Etienne
  23. Hi, all exited by the new GPS release I decided to jump, bought the Panel and GPS addon as well as the MFD to upgrade from my old GAPanel + FSMap tried and tested combo through RC Simulations. (FSX) Got the various activation code/passwords, installed the lot (Panel 2.7 GPS v1.1) as well as the latest release of the .net v4 extended on a vista 64 ultimate system. the Panel works fine and I properly see the GPS in the panel builder menu but when I click the start button, all the usual gauge launches, then I get the following error box when it tries to load the GPS: Microsoft .net framework Unhandled exception error System IO FileNotFound Exception could not load or assembly "System Data SQLite.dll" or one of the dependancies. clearly I am missing something, can you help? Etienne
