  1. Update: Version 3.0 of HD Graphics has been completed. Today we sent the new installer to all vendors and we hope the stores to have the new installer available for download within the next 24-48 hours. That being said, I just got word from Simmarket that the installer is live and ready for download. Tomorrow we will be updating our website showing new screenshots of version 3.0 New in version 3.0: -New and more detailed terminals -New and more detailed runways -New jetways -More detailed hangars -Improved night lighting -Plus the original features of the first two versions -Option to install textures in high definition or standard definition In the meantime, here are couple of screenshots: Yes, our product replaces the jetways at all default airports. As you can see in the first screenshot, in version 3.0 the jetways look a bit more gray and not as white as the previous version.
  2. Due to several requests, we will release a version of HD Airport Graphics for FS9 down the road. We are also starting work on a new product but I'm afraid I can't disclose what it is yet. We will announce it in due time. Thanks for understanding
  3. No problem! Glad you are enjoying our products Yes, the installer will give an option to to decide the texture quality. Update: So far so good with our testing in P3D v2.5. We are doing some final adjustments and we are on track to release version 3.0 this Friday. I will post another update here in the forums once version 3.0 is available for download.
  4. Our product overwrites REX's ground textures and vice versa. If you still prefer to use the ground textures from REX you can do so as our product will still provide new airport buildings, terminals, jetways, hangars and control towers. Update: we were hoping to release version 3.0 today but we are going to take a bit longer as we are now doing additional testing on the newly released Prepar3D V2.5. Thank you all for your patience and we hope to have this update ready for download within the next few days.
  5. Like I said in the previous post, our product does not modify the wet reflection effect in any way so perhaps the reflection you see comes from REX. As for which file, I believe it's GLOBALENVTEST.DDS which is found in your main FSX\Texture folder.
  6. You won't see any logos on garage doors or hangar logos anymore As for the repeatable doors, we have definitely reduced them. Yeah, the installer for Version 2.0 is a bit smaller in terms of file size in comparison to version 1.0. This is because as part of the performance improvement, we managed to reduce the overall file size of the textures while keeping their same resolution as the first version. Now we are upping the resolution of the textures in Version 3.0 while trying to keep the file size as low as possible. As for the wet runway effect, our product does not modify or alter it in any way. The wet effect is the same that you have always had. Maybe the wet effect looks different to you now because the reflection is applied on different textures than you were accustomed to. You can see this by temporarily uninstalling our product. If you restore the default airport textures you will see that the wet effect remains the same. The uninstall program that restores the default airport textures is found in your main FSX\HD Airport Graphics folder in case you want to try this.
  7. Hi Mike, The update is progressing well...it has taken us a bit longer than we expected because we are reworking the main terminals from scratch. We hope to release version 3.0 sometime this week for sure. I'll post an update here once this new version is officially released. As for FPS performance, we managed to increase the resolution of the terminals while keeping the file size as low as possible. So there shouldn't be any performance issues with the new textures.
  8. You are very welcome! We appreciate your feedback! You are welcome Thank you for your support!
  9. Yes, there is an option to uninstall our product and restore the default FSX/P3D airport textures No problem Ric. We do care about our customers and in this case we want to make it right. We admit that we held back on the resolution of some textures due to performance and VAS concerns. However, since some of our customers are requesting higher-res textures for the terminals we are going to deliver that. Our team is working on version 3.0 but we feel that giving our customers the original textures in higher resolution is not enough. If we are going to deliver higher resolution we may as well bring more detail as well. This is why we are reworking the airport terminals. This is not the final version mind you, but this is a sample of how you can expect your default airports to look like in version 3.0: If everything goes well, we hope to release Version 3.0 by the end of this week. Best Regards, Maurice Roenick Zinertek Support
  10. If that's the case, then our product will not enhance the FTX freeware airports. Thanks for correcting me. THIS!
  11. No problem Bruce! We just wanted to clear everything up and make things right for everyone who purchased our product. Our product basically replaces all the default airport textures with detailed high-resolution textures. As far as we know, ORBX Global Freeware airports use the default airport textures, so yes, our product will definitely enhance all your ORBX Freeware airports.
  12. UPDATE: After reviewing our customer feedback here in the forums, we have decided to release Version 3 of our product. The new installer in Version 3 will include an option to install the original higher-res airport textures. We'll get on it starting tomorrow. We will gather the higher-res airport textures and do some testing in FSX and P3D in order to make sure everything works as it should. We hope to have the new version ready for download in all stores within the next 3-5 days. Once the installer is released, I will let you all know. Thank you all for your patience and for your feedback. Kind Regards, Maurice Roenick. Zinertek Support.
  13. Hello folks, This is Maurice Roenick from Zinertek to address your issues regarding the texture size: Pe11e hit the nail in the head. You are probably wondering why we didn't include the ALL of the airport textures in 512x512 or 1024x1024 resolution. The reason is because we wanted all users to have good FPS performance. Secondly and most importantly, we needed to keep the total size of the airport textures reasonable due to the VAS (Virtual Address Space) concerns. Nowadays with users installing so many add-ons that enhance clouds, textures, sceneries, airports and aircraft VAS has become a big issue. FSX has about 4GB of memory reserved for sceneries, airports, textures, clouds, etc...and as you fly from point A from point B, FSX loads all the textures of said add-ons within a certain radius of your aircraft. Problem is that there are thousands of default airports scattered in FSX and Prepar3D and as you fly near them from point A to point B, FSX loads all their textures which slowly diminishes your VAS. If you were to fly over several payware airports (which normally are hundreds of megabytes in size) along your route, your VAS will run out quickly resulting in FSX crashing with an Out of Memory Error. We didn't want this to happen with our product. If we had set all the default airport textures to 512x512 or 1024x1024 in size, your VAS would take a huge hit especially on long flights. So here's a graph comparing our textures with the default ones: As you can see in the graphic above, the default air_w10.dds texture is only 64x64 pixels in resolution. Our air_w10.dds texture is 256x256 and yet is four times the resolution of the original. 256x256 may not sound impressive but we classify it as HD in the sense that it's much clearer and defined when compared to default. Resolution not always tells the story. Over the years I have seen textures 512x512 and 1024x1024 in size and still look blurry. So you can have a huge blurry texture or you can have smaller yet sharper texture. That being said, with our product the most important elements of the airports are in high resolution. This includes the taxiway lines, airport signs, hangars, parking spaces, jetways, runways, and ground textures which are all in 1024x1024 resolution (runways are 2048x2048). The main terminals most often used by FSX and the control towers are all in 512x512 resolution. Some of the other airport textures were kept to 256x256 for VAS/performance reasons explained above While I'm sure some of you were disappointed to see some textures 256x256 resolution please understand that we are not trying to mislead anyone. We want to provide a product that is high quality and yet FPS/VAS friendly. With all that said, if you purchased our product and would rather have ALL the master 512x512 and 1024x1024 airport textures that we created for our product before we had to resize some of them due to performance and VAS concerns, we'll gladly send them to you with the disclaimer that they could cause you a drop in FPS and/or possible VAS issues. To request them, send us your order number at support@zinertek.com Thank you all for your support and If any of you have any other questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us. Best Regards, Maurice Roenick. Zinertek Support.
