  1. I don't think this issue is due to our textures. MSFS tends to blur out the ground textures the higher you go up but in this case, this looks like some weird anomaly. We haven't had any other customer report jagged runway edges in snow conditions. We are planning to release a new update for 'Enhanced Airport Graphics' very soon. We were hoping to release the update on Thursday but alas, seems like the Marketplace version might take a week or two to be released. So for now, SimMarket and the FlightSim Store will have the update ready on Thursday. The delay at the Marketplace is due to the fact that they are short-staffed right now due to the holidays, so we appreciate everyone's patience on this. The announcement for version 4.0 of 'Enhanced Airport Graphics' was made on the thread below a while ago:
  2. We were about to announce in the next few days that version 4.0 is coming soon but now that this thread has been bumped, we decided to announce it now.
  3. As a matter fact, there is new update coming up! Version 4.0 of 'Enhanced Airport Graphics' is almost ready. This is a BIG update and as always, it will be a FREE upgrade to all existing customers. This is probably the biggest update yet as we have reworked all textures. Not only that but this update also brings realistic surface reflections for runways, taxiways, aprons and more that change according to the time of day and weather. We are shooting for a December 29th release. Here are some preview shots of Enhanced Airport Graphics version 4.0 taken at various defaults airports:
  4. You are welcome! Enhanced Airport Graphics V2.0 is now live at SimMarket.
  5. That's something we actually looked into but unfortunately this is not possible as the runway markings and white lines always preside over the skid marks texture. We even tried adding transparency to the white lines but the result was not satisfactory. I think it's only possible to do this on custom-made airports but not for the default airports. By the way, we are in the process of uploading version 2.0 to SimMarket and it should go live within the next two to three hours. Thanks again for your patience!
  6. Thanks for your support everyone! We appreciate it. We've put a lot of effort into making version 2.0 the best it can be. Here is a comparison of version 1 vs version 2 at KMIA: Version 1: Version 2:
  7. Just so everyone knows, version 2.0 will be submitted to all stores at the same time tomorrow. The difference is that SimMarket and FlightSim Store can publish the same day. Microsoft on the other hand only updates the Marketplace on Thursdays. So it's not our choice. I know we are getting some heat here for the delays, and we apologize for that but we are committed to delivering the best quality possible.
  8. Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let you know that 'Enhanced Airport Graphics Version 2.0' will come out tomorrow at SimMarket and FlightSim.com Store. Marketplace version will come out on Thursday. This will be a free upgrade to all existing customers. Thank you all for your patience in waiting for this new version. We know it got delayed a few times but it was because we did a major overhaul to all airport textures. I think many of you will be pleased with how much better this new version will be.
  9. Up to this point we didn't want to comment on this thread as this thread is discussing a product that is not ours. However, for those of you wondering, yes, we did mention here on Avsim that we would be releasing an update to our add-on in late May. Obviously, the new version of our add-on is delayed but we can assure that we are working on it and it is coming this month. The reason for the delay is because we are doing a major overhaul to runways, taxiways, parking spaces, aprons, taxi lines, ground markings and more. So it's not a simple update where we are simply doing touch ups or minor enhancements. We appreciate your patience.
  10. Thanks, we appreciate your support! We look forward to updating EAG and improving upon it with each subsequent version 🙂
  11. Yup, Microsoft went above and beyond to make sure default airports looked as accurate as possible. We once had a customer write us saying that our add-on was not working properly at Madrid Barajas (LEMD) because he was seeing some unexpected green patches on some of the taxiways: We had to explain to him that our add-on was actually working properly and that it was MSFS applying some coloring in those taxiways using satellite data in order to represent the green areas that are actually present in real life: So we can say that Microsoft did a good job in representing the default airports.
  12. We recommend you leave it on, actually. While turning off airport coloring might seem better at first, it will make all airports look too similar. Airport coloring is applied differently at every airport so it adds a bit more variety to the textures.
  13. Hi guys, we just want to address some of your feedback such as the one above here. So far the feedback that we have received from our customers regarding 'Enhanced Airport Graphics' has been very positive. When it comes to texture quality, no one has complained that our textures look like default FSX or FS9. We would argue that the default textures that come with MSFS are quite bland and less detailed than our textures. Let's take KPHL as an example: DEFAULT: ENHANCED AIRPORT GRAPHICS: As you can see, our textures are more detailed and high resolution. The other criticism from the above post is that apron and taxiways are an "ugly patchwork of textures, color, and repeating patterns". So here's a secret that not many people know. When you install our product and load a default airport, you are not really looking at our original textures. This is because MSFS automatically applies coloring and contrast to our textures based on actual satellite data. In essence, MSFS adjusts the way our textures look at each individual airport. For example, if an airport has an apron that is quite yellowish in real life, MSFS will apply a yellowish tone on top of our apron texture in order to try to match the color closer to what it looks like in real life. If you actually enable developer mode, and turn off 'Airports Coloring' you can see how this works. How KPHL looks with airport coloring: Airport Coloring OFF (This is how our textures actually look) As you can see, airport coloring can greatly impact the way our textures look and can even make them look a lot different than intended. In previous sims (FS9, FSX, P3D, X-Plane) airport textures would display exactly as they were designed. In this new sim, MSFS throws a curve ball because airport coloring can totally change the look of a texture at every airport. At the end of the day, airport coloring is a good thing because each airport will look different even if they share the same textures. You will not see these cookie cutter default airports from previous sims where runways, taxiways and aprons always looked exactly the same no matter which airport you selected. For us, the challenge is to find a "sweet spot" to adjust each texture with the right brightness, color, contrast, and saturation so that when airport coloring is applied on top, the texture still looks the right way. UPCOMING UPDATE We are always working to improve EAG and right now we are working on a new update (free to all customers) that will improve the texture transitions between different surfaces so that they are more seamless. We also are working to improve runways, taxiways, aprons, parking spaces and more. We expect to release this new version near the end of this month. Thank you all for your feedback!
  14. It's not so much of a conflict, per say. It's simply that our add-on (as well as all other add-ons) use a .json (JavaScript Object Notation) file in order to instruct the simulator which files to use. MSFS gives priority to add-ons in the Community folder and because these new contrail textures are not in our add-ons .json file, it resulted in this compatibility issue. It's just a matter of adding the contrail texture file names to our add-on's .json file so that MSFS can properly recognize it.
  15. We thought the same thing. You would think Asobo would place the contrail textures in an 'Effects' folder like in the previous sims but alas, it wasn't the case. The new contrail textures are located under the same folder housed by the airport textures.
  16. Because for some reason Asobo decided to place the new contrail textures in the same folder where the airport textures are located
  17. OK guys, we just want to set the record straight when it comes to the contrails! Turns out that our product 'Enhanced Airport Graphics' and this new update doesn't mesh well when it comes to the contrails. Aside from that, it is working as intended. Whenever Asobo releases updates sometimes it breaks certain add-ons or makes them behave in weird ways. This is why we developers have to scramble to fix these type of issues when official updates are released. The good news is, we have identified and addressed this issue. We will release an update to our add-on within the next hour or so which fixes the contrails issue. You will be able to download the updated installer from your Simmarket or Flight Sim Store account in about an hour. Thank you for your patience and understanding
  18. ^^^^ Thanks for your purchase and your support. I'm glad to know that you are enjoying the new cockpit!
  19. Thanks Nuno. Although we ran into some limitations with the overhead panel, we still plan to continue making improvements in other areas of the cockpit through a future update.
  20. Hello, This is Zinertek, the developer of this add-on. We are aware of the darkness issue in the overhead panel. Indeed, If you are starting with a cold and dark cockpit then the overhead panel will look very dark as shown in some of the screenshots in this thread. However, once the the aircraft systems are up and running you should see the overhead panel look like this during the day: And it should look like this at night: The actual texture of the overhead panel cannot be modified unlike the rest of the cockpit. The texture of the overhead panel is hard-coded into the aircraft along with the gauges. Therefore, the only way for us modify the overhead panel was through a transparent texture. The only thing we could do with this transparent texture, was darken the background in order to make the overhead panel match the color of the rest of our cockpit as shown in the first picture above. Unfortunately, when we darkened the texture, this also made the overhead panel look extremely dark during the day and night when all aircraft systems are off. We could completely fix the darkness issue in the overhead panel by brightening the transparent overhead texture once again but this would also mean that the panel will look a lot brighter than the rest of the cockpit when the systems are on: In other words, we can fix the overhead panel's darkness mentioned in this thread but it will come at a cost as shown above. We wish we could have done more but we are dealing with an old bird here and the overhead panel was one of the limitations that we ran into. Best Regards, Maurice Roenick Zinertek Support
  21. Hi Carlo, when it comes to the big airports such as KJFK, EDDF, LFPG, etc, our product does enhance them except for the terminals. This is because each of these airports have their own custom textures for terminals and hangars modeled after their real life counterparts. It would have been a big task for us to also model these airports with their specific terminals and hangars seeing as how there are so many of them. That being said, in those big airports you will still get to see new airport vehicles, jetways, taxiways, taxiway signs, taxiway lines, asphalt/concrete textures, parking spaces, and runways.
  22. You are welcome! I'm glad to know that you are enjoying our product :-) Update: Simmarket, FS Pilot Shop and PC Aviator have confirmed that they have the installer for version 3.0 ready for download. We are still waiting to hear from the FlightSim Store and Simware Simulations.
  23. Here's a tip: Highlight and copy (CTRL+C) your registration key BEFORE opening the install program. If you did this correctly, your registration key will automatically be filled in for you when you get to the registration part. At that point all you have to do is enter your name in order to continue with the installation. No problem! Glad you are enjoying our product With many add-ons nowadays using higher resolutions, ideally, you should set your max texture load to 2048 or 4096.
  24. No need to uninstall the previous version(s) as this one will automatically overwrite it.
  25. As far as I know, they still don't have the updated installer. Update: Simmarket is the only store so far that has updated the installer. If you bought our product somewhere else, it could take a couple of days. Thanks! No problem! And thank you and everyone for the feedback and suggestions!
