  1. If you have sources, and probably Flight1 has, switching off the SafeDisc protection is a simple thing. This is what I'm pretty sure as developer. The more complex thing is to replace it with alternative. And that would probably require some development and testing. It's unfortunate that official support forum has been closed and noone can post anything there. Although Flight1 are still selling the product. In my opinion this is not the best attitude towards the customer. So, one good tip, before buying the product is checking out support forums:) But anyways, it's great that they were able to bring CRJ to the finish. Comparing what was initially planned with current list of features I can see that they had to exclude some of very interesting items. E.g. complex FMC, flight systems etc. But it's still better than nothing. It would bring them some money. And that is good. Not everyone wants to fly as-real-as-it gets:)
  2. I'd love Flight1 to do something about SafeDisc protection in Windows 10. DA Fokker relies on SafeDisc as software protection measure. However MS has discontinued support for SafeDisc because it introduces security vulnerability to the system. That's why many old games won't work there. Unless you find some no-disc patch or crack:) Which is something I don't want to do:) Besides that DA Fokker is an excellent product, even without VC,
  3. Hi, Morrigan. Digital Aviation does not exist anymore. CRJ won't be finished. And there is no support for this aircraft anymore. As I've mentioned before you can launch Fokker in Win10 by using workaround, i.e. adding back Safedisk driver into Windows system, signing it and switching Windows into TEST mode so that it would accept the driver. I'm not 100% sure about the TEST mode part as for me it seems to work fine without that. The root cause of the problem is that MS has removed safedisk driver from Windows 10 version because it has been considered security vulnerability. And Fokker gauge periodically checks license using that driver, so it has to be in the system.
  4. Update: I've found out that rare freezes happen when there is Windows Error Reporting service is doing something. It looks like some exceptions are still thrown by sim. So I've disabled WER for FS9.exe process by adding the following to the registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\ExcludedApplications] "FS9.exe"=dword:00000001 Sim is working fine for 1h 40 min so far P.S. All this is relevant to FS2004 version. UNfortunately I don't have FSX or P3D to test this approach on.
  5. Thank you, Bryn. You gave me new idea which I've tried. I googled about DRM you were talking about. And it looks like people are complaining in many places that they cannot play old games because MS has removed safedisc driver from their build. And it looks like it is possible to bring it back. All you need to do is download secdrv.sys, sign it so that Windows10 kernel won't reject it to load, switch off UAC, restart and that's it. Although some guides in internet mention that you have to set your OS in so called TEST mode which has been made for testing new self-signed drivers etc. But it looks like it works for me without setting that. I've been able to set FS9 running with DA Fokker on apron for 40 minutes now. It freezed a couple of times for me. I've noticed it at 15min and 40 min from the start of the flight. But I have to admit, I was not always near PC to be confident that it happened only 2 times. After about 30-60 seconds sim resumes to work normally. Before applying that solution the whole sim would become totally unresponsive after 1-5 minutes. Now it's much better. I hope MS would provide some day official workaround for those who want to play games with this silly DRM protection. FYI, I've found this article useful: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/08/17/windows-10-safedisc-securom-drm/ I'd be happy if anyone who has read and tried would share his results and new findings here.
  6. I agree with you. By the way, such attempt had been made. And the result was Tu-334. However the project was sacrificied in favour of Sukhoi SuperJet as it was impossible to keep both projects going on.
  7. I have Digital Aviation Fokker 70/100. In Win10 it freezes from time to time of freezes completely. In some of the forums I have read that it is due to DRM protection that is not working properly in WIN10. On support forum for DA F70/10 someone posted about this problem. But there is no reply and the thread is locked now.
