No water effects on Addon Airports!
paulwilko10 replied to paulwilko10's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
That's fair enough, however uk2000 advertise the fact that theirs does but all I get is a weird swirly texture -
No water effects on Addon Airports!
paulwilko10 replied to paulwilko10's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Do you know what that level is as I have them all on quite high? Thanks for your help -
Hiya I have what seems to be a weird issue None of my paid for addon airports have water effects on the ground yet all my default ones do. I thought it would be the priority of each scenery, but that does not seem to be it after mucking about with it I have: Aerosoft Corfu (LGKR) Aerosoft Innsbruck (LOWI) The weirdest one is my UK2000 Gatwick latest version which looks like it is trying to show water but all it is is swirly textures. Is this right or should I be getting water effects on these airports? Thanks Paul

Aerosoft Airbus Practise Repeated Landings?
paulwilko10 replied to paulwilko10's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Thanks all My issue is not so much putting the airbus in place, it's getting it set up when it loads in that place. By the time I am even close, it crashes in to mountains or the ground as the engines haven't spooled in time or other issues -
Aerosoft Airbus Practise Repeated Landings?
paulwilko10 replied to paulwilko10's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
but i assume that involves taking off and setting up that way? I was hoping to create a basic way of doing what FSI panel does if possible? -
fsx-ms Aerosoft Airbus Practise Repeated Landings?
paulwilko10 posted a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hiya I would like to practise my landings but am having a real issue with setting the plane up so I can do just landings. Is there an easy way to do this? I thought setting up a flight and saving it at he landing stage would work but it seems the settings don't save just mostly the direction and area of the plane. Then when it is is pause to setup, the settings i.e speed, heading etc do not show until you un pause and then all hell breaks lose Any tips please? Thanks Paul -
Hiya No doubt there is no simple answer to this, but here goes. I generally fly the Aerosoft Airbus When taking off, I generally set the Alt to 7000 as I seem to remember it in the tutorial but not sure why and when do you change that, I assume when you are approaching that altitude? When at TOD, what Alt do i set to start my decent? And how do I come up with that Alt? I have been (And no doubt wrongly) setting it for about 6000 and then when close'ish to the ils i start getting down to the proper glideslope. Obviously I need to take into account any obstructions, but base your answers maybe on a very straight forward take off and approach I tried looking for this but couldn't find the answer, probably because my terminology was wrong Thanks for any help Paul

Yes I am using the fixer Seems only the UK2000 Gatwick that is causing me issues I get very little water if any on the ORBX Scenery, but on default airports it looks great
-
I actually think this is to do with the UK2000 Gatwick as default and ORBX airports dont show this

Any ideas what is going on here please? Just changed over to DX10 and to be honest not seeing much improvement anywhere but I assume I will need to play with it a bit more, however, the water on the ground is awful Any ideas why? Thanks Paul

Yes, Affinity is 14 :-)
-
I have 64bit I have MEMFIX, BUFFERPOOLS, VSYNC (Window Mode) tweaks added Any other obvious ones I have forgotten?
-
Not really considered DX10, maybe worth a look if everything else fails

My water setting has been the source of my latest tinkering. If I turn my water setting off, i do get an increase, so I changed my Bufferpools from 0 to different settings but no better, so went back to zero, hwoever it mean si have to have water at high 2x i think it is.I have turned it back down a little but i get flashes which is expected. Anti aliasing is done by nvidia inspector but am at work so cannot say what it is. DX9 I will try the visibility you mention and 4 layers. Why is the default 5 if the max we actually see is only 4? Thanks for your help Paul

Destination full of Autogen? It's the default airfield with ORBX New Zealand, so no, not really. LOD Radius, not even looked at that, so that will be default, is it wrth looking at ? 6 Cloud layers but even adjusting it during flight makes no obvious difference to FPS The weather is slightly different but I would say for the better as it is less cloudy MAX and MIN both default at 90 miles There is no road traffic or any other traffic Thanks Paul
-
I can not put my finger on why this happening. Example flight: Aerosoft Airbus Take off from ORBX Queenstown Scenery is ORBX NZ South Island Active Sky Next REX including Soft Clouds On runway i get appx 30FPS In flight flickers between 20-30 On Approach to Christchurch default airport 15FPS and feels awful Traffic is off I have the sliders about 2/3rds right Process explorer sas I have used about 2500 VRAM GPU-z says never above 600mb of my 2GB card I have tried different bufferpools including zero I have tried different water settings I have an i5 clocked to 4.3 8GB Ram Win 7 As per the readings, doesn't seem that the pc or graphics card is stressed at the time anyway I have this issue on other flights but because this is a nice short flight, i can test better Any ideas please? Can Simlauncherx start FSX with a .bat file?
paulwilko10 replied to paulwilko10's topic in SimLauncherX
Hiya Maarten Thats spooky, I was just about to write about this issue! So is there no way of getting simlauncher to start a flight rather than just going to the normal opening screen? Would be a shame if not :-( Thanks for your support Paul This is my .BAT file settings @echo off START "" "c:\FSX\FSX.exe" net stop uxsms net start uxsms -
Hiya Just installed Simlauncherx and was wondering if it can start FSX using .bat file i am using to get around the vsync issue in window mode? To confirm, i use fsx.bat instead of fsx.exe when starting FSX The setup only shows a folder to find fsx.exe not actually point to a file Thanks Paul Ignore me, just found it :-)
