  1. Actually I had something like this, and when I read the message a bit closer it was ASCA that needed an update too... Just in case you get caught the same way - thinking it was AS that needed an update when it was ASCA. Graham
  2. Thread necromancy incoming... As I thought it was a good idea, I spoke to Oliver Binder (Lorby-SI) and asked how difficult it would be to get an addon to automatically accelerate and decelerate time around waypoints. I had a working prototype in a few hours! The full version is now available as a free download at: http://lorby-si.weebly.com/downloads.html (it's towards the bottom of the page) There's also a pdf with a brief write-up by little ol' me in the same place, detailing how I've been using it with my 737NGX/P3D v4/GSX/Pro ATC/X etc etc Graham
  3. Should anyone else be interested, I reached out to the FSTramp developers asking about getting the parking positions labelled in the app and got the following reply: "the number is so small and therefore does not exist. Use a different method. Use the Search window and find this airfield. Select the correct parking position in this window and at the same time this position will be marked red in the world map." I've now done a couple of flights using this method and it works well, so I've just bought a 2 year licence for FSTramp. Graham
  4. OK, so I've downloaded and installed FSTramp, just used it for a short hop from Palma to Valencia. Like the solution overall. Only problem I have is that whilst it shows the airport parking spots (and they're the in game ones, not real world which is good), it doesn't seem to label them, so you still can't tell which one you need to taxi to without either tabbing out to to Pro ATC or using a followme car. Does anyone know if there's a way of getting the parking spots labelled in FSTramp? I looked but couldn't see an option. Graham
  5. Now that looks like it might be a good solution! When it's displaying the airport, is it reading it from the sim or Navigraph/Jeppeson real world data?
  6. Cheers Jeroen, I'll check that out. Graham
  7. Not heard of that one Jeroen - I update every month with Herve Sors (sp) navaids pack? Does aerodata do something else? Graham
  8. Hmm, I guess if I was confident it was only an occasional chart that'd be wrong I'd probably live with that. I think what put me off a little was that the demo airport for Navigraph Charts that I tried - Alicante - was quite different from what was displayed to what's in game. Maybe I'll take a months subscription to charts and AIRAC with Navigraph and see how I get on with it - you can just take a month at a time if you take both I believe? Graham
  9. Like a fool I gave my second monitor to a friend who's screen blew up...
  10. It's not a problem, just a little clunky. If I could either get the charts out to my tablet or even better onto the kneeboard in game that'd be ideal - I can work with tabbing, thats what I do now with PATC - but hoped there might be a slightly more elegant solution.. Graham
  11. OK, so I'm spending a fair amount of time flying the NGX for a VA I've just joined, and I'm finding that I'm constantly tabbing out to Pro ATC/X during taxi (both ends of the flight) to check where I should be going. I'm sure in real life pilots have airport charts, but that's about the best solution I've found so far for viewing the in game airport layout - I've got the demo of Navigraph's charts product installed, and whilst it's great, it has the same problem most products I've found have in that it shows the real world airport layout, which often doesn't match the in game one. So does anyone have any suggestions for ways to view the in game airport charts? In must be possible as Pro ATC/X displays the info. Either in the sim itself, or externally on something like a tablet. I guess I could try running Pro ATC/X on a separate PC, but I don't a have second PC near my main rig. I do have a powerful android tablet - the Nvidia Shield - but I don't think Pro ATC/X runs on android, so that doesn't really help. I've also tried using the GSX FollowMe car, but that only helps on landing not taking off, and it's very slow. Graham
  12. Yes, think someone mentioned that the 777 did it already in the other convo - not heard of any other planes that do that and I've not got the 777. Understood on the time thing - not a problem, just thought I'd mention it. Have a good day. Graham
  13. Thanks Oliver - that's sorted it. I ended just changing the default VC view slightly using your software, then there's already a key to go back to that (F9). Then assigned Overhead Lower to 6 and Centre Pedestal to 7. Added them to buttons using FSUIPC and we're done! May I be so bold as to suggest a possible addon that doesn't seem hard to do, but might see a small market? I tend to fly a lot of the "study" level aircraft - PMDG, the Dash 8 etc - and most use external flight models that don't play well with accelerated time. They're all fine when a flight is straight and level but you have to remember to reset time compression back to 0 before each waypoint, then accelerate it again afterwards. I wonder if that would be difficult to do programatically? So a small in game GUI that lets you set how far before the waypoint you return to normal time, and how far after a waypoint you want to return to your previous compression. Then I could put my aircraft into my normal 4x acceleration once I've finished climbing out, confident that if I get distracted it'll drop to normal time (say) 5 miles before each waypoint in the flightplan and speed back up again 3 miles afterwards. Is that feasible? This came up in a conversation in another forum here on Avsim, but no-one knew of an addon that did it, and it occurs to me that you may be just the man to make one! Graham
  14. Cheers for the answer Oliver. Guess I didn't explain myself too well. Being able to assign 1 to the VC view, 2 to the overhead lower view and 3 to the pedestal view is basically exactly what I want - I can then assign those numbers to buttons or switches in FSUIPC. So, went and bought the product. Installed, runs fine. I've loaded each of the views, and added the hotkeys as the line above, then replaced the camera. Apart from faintly hilarious end results where the plane pogo's across the airfield on save, it seems to have worked in that there's no error messages, and the aircraft.cfg has gained hotkey entries against those cameras. Problem is, pressing those numbers doesn't bring up the view assigned to it? Am I being incredibly dumb and missing something obvious? For instance, I load the aircraft and press 2 and nothing happens - 2 should show me the VC overhead lower. Any help appreciated! Graham
  15. Hi, I'm looking at buying CameraPositionX but just wanted to check it'll do exactly what I need first. I'm using P3D V4 with the PMDG 737NGX. What I want is to be able to assign the existing VC views to either keys (then use FSUIPC to assign the keys to switches on my HOTAS), or directly to buttons if it can do that. As a secondary issue, if I can set up a new view based on the existing pilots view in the VC, but tipped down by a few degrees that'd be even better! I've read the product page and feel pretty sure it can do what I need, just want to be sure.. Many thanks Graham
  16. Sorry to resurrect a couple of week old thread, but I'm still not getting anywhere with this. I followed Rob's instructions from earlier. I then saw the newer version of the exe, so I've downloaded that. I've tried enabling and disabling the dll. I've set the profile in Control Panel. The best results I get are that the virtual CDU connects and can control the in-plane CDU, but nothing is displayed on the virtual CDU. I have a firewall exception - it wouldn't connect at all without that. Anyone have any suggestions? Graham
  17. Hi, Could anyone give me a step by step of how to assign the baked in VC views to buttons please? I found an old post saying to edit the aircraft.cfg and add "HotKeySelect=" to the CameraDefinition, but I've tried that with both a number and a letter and when I get into the sim (P3d V4) the keys don't do anything. If I can get a key command to work, I can use FSUIPC to assign that to a button or switch, but I can't get the key part to work - I only want the lower overhead and pedestal, plus the standard VC view mapped. Many Thanks Graham
  18. Thanks for the recommendations, bought and about to download. I'll go find how to de-activate the rest of the Island's coverage whilst it's downloading.
  19. Hi, Could anyone recommend a could payware addon for LEPA? I've just joined a VA that's based out of there, so it'd be nice to have a top notch version of the airport. Must be v4 compatible. Graham
  20. Apologies if this is covered in the linked thread, but if you just rename virtualreality.dll out of your root P3D folder it'll stop that behavior - I just added .old to mine. HTH Graham
  21. OK, don't know if this is even possible... Does anyone know of an addin that will reduce time compression to 1:1 just before each leg of a route and then increase it again after the turn? I don't have time to sit through a multi hour flight without time compression, but with the more realistic planes (I've just bought the PMDG DC6) I find their external flight models doesn't handle turns under AP well if time is compressed. So it'd be nice to be able to set something up that (say) reduced time compression to 1:1 5 miles before each waypoint and then increased it back to whatever it was set to 2 miles after the waypoint, if that makes sense. Would mean when I'm called away from my PC the flight can continue without the plane going all over the sky trying to make all the turns when I forget to reduce the time compression before I have to go AFK! Graham
  22. Got it going eventually... Made an exception in my AVG software to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Flight1 Aviation Technologies\GTNGauge\GTNSysV621 Then started the trainer outside of the sim, which worked, and now when I open the sim all seems well. Just got to work out how to use it now! :) Thanks for all the help.
  23. Hmm, presuming you mean the switch that choses between Ground Power and Aircraft Battery on the overhead below the Aux Fuel Booster pump switches, that has no effect for me? I've just gone through a cold and dark start and still got just a blank panel for GPS. I've double checked that the MS Visual C++ is installed as that's also mentioned in the manual. I've switched back and forth between ground power and aircraft battery. Still nothing.
  24. So, went and bought the F1 GTN. Got it installed - it appears in the middle of the overhead and as a separate 2D panel. How the h**l do you turn it on!? Manual mentions that the Master Avionics switch does it, so I mapped a switch on my HOTAS, but that does nothing.. so I'm a bit stumped! Graham
