Sorry to divert slightly, but how does one remove any of these programs? I recently updated my PC and would like to see how it performs without this. I actually have the original version by Fragtality still installed, though may well update if I still find a need on the new system once the pace of development slows down a little.. Is it as simple as deleting the folder? It doesn't seem to appear in the list of programs in windows so I can't uninstall it that way. As it launches automatically I assume it must have updated a file in MSFS?

I also seem to remember reading somewhere that the UK2000 scenery didn't work well with Orbx due to the Orbx scenery changing the altitudes of some airports? Or was that MT6 too? Graham

Hi, I do most of my flying out of RAF Brize Norton as it's a cheap place with a long runway and ILS in AirHauler. However, I've noticed that I never see any AI traffic on the ground or taking off or landing there. Is that just because I don't have suitable models loaded for military traffic in the UK (I have the default P3D v3.3 aircraft plus the PMDG 737, MJC Q400 and the new C47), or does P3D just not model military traffic? All my traffic sliders are set to 100%. If P3D doesn't model military traffic, is there an addon that works with v3 that would add it? Many thanks Graham

Yes, I just got it downloaded - not taken it for a spin yet whilst I work throught he manual. So I guess the question is: Where's the most spectacular place to start flying this? Somewhere we can appreciate dramatic scenery at the medium altitudes we'll spend a lot of time flying at... Hmm, I may have to start a new company up in AirHauler.. Slightly, but I haven't gone to insane lengths with overclocking - I can, I built the machine with watercooling so that I could if I needed to - but to be honest I haven't found a need yet. I suspect the problems a lot of people are having is with expectations. The CV1 just doesn't (and can't) look as good as we're used to with modern monitors. It's forte is immersion. If you can't live with a limited field of view and screen quality that looks 10 years out of date, you aren't going to enjoy the Rift. If you can and value being able to look around and feel "there", then it's a complete game changer. But it does work.... Graham

As a straight answer to the question of is anyone using P3D with a CV1 successfully, yes, I am. With FlyInside. I find the immersion level of being able to look around far out weighs the lower resolution. I have a couple of issues with other add on programs that I'm working through (Pro ATC/X and Firefighter X), but using the basic sim is a blast! Graham (In case it matters, I do run a modern rig - 6700K, 32Gb DDR4 RAM, everything is on SSD's, 980Ti Strix - but if you haven't got a fairly high end rig you aren't going to be able to use VR anyway, not just in P3D)

Hey, Does anyone know of a relatively painless way to add a single building (a castle) to a specific location in P3D? I fly a lot of Firefighter X in a region of Spain I know well, and one of the main landmarks seems to be missing... Many Thanks Graham

I went through a problem with OOM's in 3.1 after the last ASN update. I rolled back to the previous build of ASN - had to uninstall and reinstall then just patch to the earlier build - and most of the crashes went away.... Just my 0.02 cents. Graham

If you're spending real money and are considering the Acer Predator X34, I'd be really careful. I have one and there are a lot of people complaining of problems on their forums: 1) Panel won't hit the advertised 100hz overclock 2) Only half the backlight switches on when you turn the monitor on. I have this, but I find the other half of the monitor comes on pretty quickly 3) Lots of backlight bleed. If I fly at night, the bottom left corner of the screen in particular looks like the sun is rising just off screen - that corner has a distinct orange glow. The top left does too, but not over as much of an area. It's not visible unless that section of the screen is totally dark, so I don't notice it in other games, but it's really noticeable in P3D. 4) Other people are reporting really bad banding, particularly in blue colours. Don't have this myself. All told it's a lot of problems for a £1000 monitor. I'm considering speaking to Acer about an RMA for mine. Graham

Hmm, maybe we're talking at cross purposes here Simmer... If you accept a job in AH, then go into My Jobs and select Fly Job with AI Crew, you're saying that the pilot never moves the plane? If that is the case, I can confirm that it definitely works for me, as I often fly a job, then assign the AI to fly another job that ends back at base ready for me to fly another outbound job next time I fly. Also, as far as I know this is completely independent of whatever flightsim you use - you can just switch AH (and in fact the PC it's on) off, and when you next load AH it will display the results of the flight, assuming enough time has elapsed. If not, it'll show the job as in progress in the Ops screen. You don't need to have a flightsim loaded, AH completely simulates the whole flight. The only time I've ever had problems with an AI pilot not being able to fly a job I gave them was because the plane I'd told them to use thought I was still using it, so now whenever I assign a job to the AI, I always go into the Fleet screen, right click on the plane they're going to use and select "Clear Current Pilot". The only other thing I can think of, is the AH ability to inject your fleet into the flightsim, so you can see the pilot take off etc if you fly a job from the same airport at the same time? I don't use that as I only maintain one aircraft. Is that where you are seeing the problem? If so, try the trick above about releasing the aircraft before you assign the job to the AI... Graham

Hey, Yes, the step I used to take with my own flightplans is to have Plan-G open, open the AH flightplan file in Plan-G, then Export it straight back over the top of the AH.pln file as an FSX flightplan. I've no idea how you would do that with the AI plans - in fact, now I'm thinking about it, I thought the only AI flights that AH added were if you asked it to inject your fleet into the sim? I thought all the other AI trafic came from the sim itself? Does the AI traffic work if you aren't running AH? These days I do all my flight planning in Pro ATC/X, so I don't use AH flight plans at all, and I manually launch the sim, setup the load and fuel etc. Works betetr that way with the PMDG 737 that I normally use. I use AH with P3D V3.1, but on the same machine and don't have any problems with AI traffic. This is a real long shot, but I've read a few times of running AH as an administrator as a fix for many issues. I guess if you're using in a network environment you may need to make the user it's running under on it's machine an admin on the flightsim machine? Maybe it tries to right to a folder and it can't? Could be talking and sitting on the same orifice mind.... Graham Smart

I have an X34, and I'd strongly suggest holding off on them for now. There's a lot of reports of issues - mine suffers some of these, but not all: 1) Only half the backlight switches on when you turn the monitor on. I get this but it always comes on pretty quickly. Some users report that they have to switch it off and back on again. 2) The backlight bleed is pretty awful. I fly at night a lot, and the left hand corners(particularly the bottom) look like the sun is coming up - there's a distinct orange glow. 3) Other's have reported significant banding, particularly in blue colours I believe. I don't have this problem. I've had the monitor for about 6 weeks and will likely be speaking to Acer after New Year about an RMA for problem 1. They're supposed to be able to fix that but it's a hardware repair so needs to go back to them. Depending on whether that gets fixed - and if they fix my monitor and send it back to me rather than replacing it - so I still have problem 2, I'll consider whether I try for a full refund.

Hmm, might grab the demo of FSCaptain too then - that seems to do cargo and passenger flights which is a plus over FSPassengers...

As a matter of interest, does anyone know of any other "career" type addons that work (or at least can be made to work) with P3D V3? AH doesn't support P3D but can be made to work. Looks like FSP is OK, even with the PMDG as long as you use the workarounds. Hopefully, AH2 when it comes out will be good. Not tried FSEconomy with the PMDG aircraft yet. I just find that flying from A to B without any background reason feels somehow... dissatisfying? so I currently use AH. Might try FSP until AH2 comes out. Graham

Does this work well with add on aircraft that have external flight models? I use AirHauler a lot, but it doesn't work at all with the Q400, and I have a lot of issues with the PMDG 737 NGX, so this might be a good alternative until AH2 releases... Graham
