  1. Update, I though I had screwed up because I didnt remember I had enabled FXAA through NVIDIA Inspector through video driver, and maybe that was the reason i was getting less on the GT 635M but I did another test disabling FXAA from Inspector, now I have no antialiasing at all, looking bad, but FPS didnt increase for GeForce, I guess FXAA doesnt quite impact performance (but gives really nice AA, recommender for visuals matter). Since my Intel HD doesnt let me inject FXAA through driver I went for AA from sweetFX MSAA option, smooth, but not as nice as NVIDIA FXAA was, but this method applies for both render ways, GF or Intel, AND the best thing, I dont see any FPS loss at all. Results are still the same, after disabling FXAA from nvidia driver FPS GT 635M 32 (with or without SMAA from sweetFX, like Intel 4000 40 I said, it doesnt change FPS at all). Now I will go see if I can inject FXAA through sweetFX, it says I need some DLLs... Intel still winning the match PD: I want to add, I actually bought this pc specifically for FSX cuz I had lenovo x230 with core i5 3320m, Intel HD4000, no GPU. And was getting quite low FPS, about 11-25 with all the addons like REX and ORBX, not quite playable. But now I'm kinda disappointed this pc would be as good for FSX even if it didnt have GPU cuz the Intel 4000 in this one seems like 2-3x more powerful than the intel 4000 in my old lenovo. (Yes, x230 is a corporate model, I guess they might have screwed it up on purpose to make it last forever following the "corporate reliability" code. Screw that, I want as much power as this thing is capable to deliver).
  2. Hi, I just wondered if someone could give me some information about why my FSX would run better on an HD 4000 than a GT 635M when the GF is supposed to be stronger This my rig: Laptop ASUS N46VJ Core i7 3630qm 8GB RAM 1600mhz HDD 1TB Nvidia GeForce GT 635M 2GB (96 shaders edition, 128 bit) driver 347.52 Windows 8.1 up to date FSX with SP2, ORXB global and vector latest, REX Essential+, DX10 and Steve Parson's fix, sweetFX, fsx.cfg by Bojote's I load a specific save game with Nvidia then switching to integrated intel HD (with the exact same graphic settings, traffic, weather, time, plane, etc) and I get 27 FPS with GeForce, 37 with Intel 4000. I know there are multiple versions of my GT 635M, most models have 144 shaders while I unfortunately got the one with the fewest, anyway dont know if this has any relation at all. (How many shaders in intel 4000? I though it mayve have something to do since i heard ATI cards have 300+ shaders with low freq clocks which is ideal for FSX instead of few cores @ high speed, like nvidia) I gotta mention my 635M does perform better than the 4000 in other games, some are Game Intel HD 4000 GT 635M Assassin's Creed 4 11 22 Dying Light 12 22 Blur 33 56 Notorious advantage for the 635M but then...... MS FSX 36 27 I just wonder what's going on? Anybody experiencing anything similar?
  3. Ok I'm done with this, I just tried everything possible, redone every step to the first time it worked and nothing, it actually didnt work just once, but like 2 or 3, then never again. I hope someone ever comes to a clue or bandi or sweetFX make it clearly possible, for now I'll try to deal with the bandi "desktop mode". The reason I wanted DirectX mode was: 1st cuz it worked about 3 times already, so NO, I didnt make it up, nor a confusion of any kind. 2nd cuz its totally easy to play the game say 1366x768 while bandi records and resizes in real time to any other res u choose say 720p 3rd cuz u can have FSX in winowed mode an even move the window around while recording and the vid would not be altered, the recording wouldnt be in THE AREA the window is but the app and follow it anywhere, i think even if minimized. Biggest mystery i've ever faced in a pc.
  4. Hi, I've spent the last 8 hours researching this and got some good and bad discoveries. I love bandicam and will not use any other, also FSX in DX10 with DX10 fixer and sweetFX, wont go back to DX9 with ENB but like you found Bandi wouldnt record FSX with the Sweet colors, until today I went bandi in "video" tab, then record>settings and activated "Use enhanced capture method (faster, only DirectX9)" and noticed it started getting the sweet colors, I was HURRAY!!! then tweaked a couple things in FSX and bandi for example in FSX general settings, deactivated "pause on task switch" and "confirm exit game" and did something closed FSX, came back and surprise, I wont do anymore, I checked and the bandi "enhanced capture" was still active, tried ALL IN UNIVERSE, deact, react, FSX in windowed mode as small window, fit to screen, fullscreen, reactiv the 2 FSX set's pause on task switch, confirm exit, tried deleting NVIDIA Inspector, deleting the whole Geforce driver, reinstall as "Clean installation" still nothing, I've tweaked everything on bandicam to what I remember it was set when it worked, nothing. Only way (and easy) is just record in bandi "desktop record" select window and it shows sweetFX as in that mode bandi would record the exact image presented in the area selected, not the application rendered, BUT, im pretty stubborn and still want it to work in the bandi DirectX app mode, I mean, it worked once! why wouldnt it again? Try this setting in bandi "enhanced capture" i mentioned and let me know, thx.
  5. Ok, I finally got to a conclusion after about 5h research on the "Nvidia Inspector force Antialiasing to FSX in DX10 preview" subject. Turns out we were both right and wrong at the same time. NI by itself wont force AA in any way with any setting selected, either 2x Multisample or 32x whatever god knows. BUT I found it was working for me BECAUSE (and ONLY because) I had sweetFX installed in my FSX folder. While my SweetFX has AA or FXAA all disabled, my Inspector WOULD inject the AA, I guess the NI is just using the sweetFX DLLs. (As soon as I removed SweetFX files from FSX then NI will not force AA anymore. Anyway, here is proof of what I said first. I must add to this that the DEFAULT ANTIALIASING setting in FSX was DISABLED (Otherwise the nice color saturation you see wouldnt be visible because SweetFX doesnt seem to work if stock FSX AA is enabled, at least for me, I wonder if others experience this. This is why ME, and I guess others, are FORCED to FORCE the AA either from SweetFX or NI). NOTE: You dont need to enable ANY option in SweetFX for AA from NI to work, even after u disable all SweetFX effects and press hotkey to "disable SweetFX", the AA is still there (If injected from NI... Because if injected from Sweet then obviously the AA would also be gone after disabling sweet with hotkey). As for DX9 vs DX10 on FPS battle Im still testing but so far seems like DX10 will, at some moments, give me 5-10 FPS more than DX9. Plus, in order to make FSX look pretty in DX9 u need ENB which is cool but you gotta exit app and edit .ini file to try settings, while in SweetFX, with the "SweetFX congifurator" you know you can tweak all sorts of post processing in real time. (I wish it had depth of field). The final counter on using DX10 is bandicam WONT capture the SweetFX effect. Either screenshot or recording will look without SweetFX. Will have to use hypercam. PD: 32x Combined MS + SS reduced my FPS from 40 to about 11 (but it looked gorgeous, no aliasing at all). Must try other settings PD2: I guess I should add this for anyone wondering ASUS N46VJ Laptop Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bits Core i7 3630qm 2,4 - 3,4Ghz 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz 1TB Seagate 5400rpm Nvidia GeForce GT 635M 2GB (x96 shaders) Mods: FSX With SP2 ORBX Global 1.30 + Vector 1.20 (Lastest of both) REX Essential+ Steve Parson's DX10 fixer (From the moment u install it u get like 10+20 FPS more in DX10 mode) FSX.cfg optimized by Bojote's tool SweetFX with Configurator tool
  6. I still think you are wrong and AA 8x CAN be injected through NI on DX10 mode, will probably make a proof video later, now, could anyone please help me with this question: What type of AA is the DEFAULT FSX setting? Im having a hard time right now still choosing between DX9 and DX10 for terms of FPS... Its weird, I sometimes get more FPS on one and sometimes more on the other. Still on research and testing.
  7. Well I forgot to mention I'm doing all this because I DO run on DX10, and yes, my NI DOES inject AA in my FSX (only tried 2 options so far, both injected, I guess they all would), it is looking really nice now, I want to add I noticed BIG FPS loss on that 8xS [Combined: 1x2 SS + 4x MS] plus it wasnt that smooth at all, tried [2x multisample] and it may be looking even smoother with, I would say, the same or maybe a little less impact on FPS than my stock FSX AA used to give me. Now, when Im on a FULL MIST runway I can see a thin grey line by just fractions of seconds at the end of the RWY, or my horizon of view when I pan de camera around my virtual cockpit, do you think that grey ghost line is the target of the "transparency AA"?
  8. I was looking for some guide on forcing AA with NI too but just tweaked and found settings by myself and I am afraid I must prove you wrong. You CAN force AA with NI on FSX. First, lemme tell why why all this is, I dont know about others but in my case SweetFX will not work at all if FSX DEFAULT AA is enabled so had to use external way in order to have delightful SweetFX improvements. The SweetFX itself as u kno has AA forcing but I didnt like it plus tweaking it is complex beyond my reach (and I guess many others). Tried and worked NI, you just have to: Antialiasing - Behavior Flags = None Antialiasing - Mode = Override any application settings Antialiasing - Setting = THIS YOU CAN PLAY WITH IT (I have 8xS [Combined: 1x2 SS + 4x MS] but its not at smooth as I wish, will try different ones, specially the 4x and 8x) The antialiasing transparency settings are NOT needed, I've also read this setting is really high demanding and not sure what its intended for, I think something about edges and some lines.
